It’s really up to you, if you’re just browsing you will notice ZERO difference. If you want a different color or need the new display options than it could be worth it. Only you can decide that.

I’m fine with that, it’s a nice surprise when the price of something goes down.
Actually really digging the new color! What a refreshing hue.
I'm obviously alone in not finding the color "beautiful" or "gorgeous"
All these muted "tints" are really not that attractive to me
So many of them look like "dirty silver"

Yeah, you and I have discussed this before. The 14 is superior spec-wise, but where my purchase will be used attached to a 34" widescreen monitor for much of its life, I might opt for the slightly larger screen for on-the-go.

Trading in my M3 8GB 256SSD ($550) for the sky blue M4 with 24GB RAM. Kept the same 256SSd since I use iCloud and external SSD.
$899 for the education model too 📚 Ohh this gonna sell like Hotcakes 🥞 for back to school 🏫 📚💻
Given the sky blue, they should replace the midnight with a nice dark forest green. That would look sharp on an MBA, IMO.
I think the footprint of my 15” M2 is a bit big - Apple will give me $655 for it. The base 13” in Sky Blue looks nice and could serve my needs for years. Pricing looks excellent

Well for only $100 more, you can get a 14 inch MBP with that same RAM and storage on their education website. You have to sacrifice an inch of screen though. But I think the other upgrades outweigh that.
On the contrary, it has a lot of sense they have lowered the price, so that way they could offset the upcoming tariffs.
USB-C on the right is the only real advantage, for me, that I've found with my M4 Pro.
No battery upgrades to… MacBook Pro got an extra 2h, we were expecting this on the air too (like 20h) but we are still stuck at 18h for 5 years…
The M4 chip debuted 2024 so last year folks not earlier this year 🙋♂️

It does seem like they're celebrating "Spec Bump Week!" in Cupertino with this round of product releases.
I agree, especially when it comes to iPhones and iPads.
But I can completely understand why Apple chooses to keep at least the MacBook colors muted.
Keeping in mind that these, especially the MacBook Air, are massive on college campuses… I’m not sure Apple wants their somewhat premium computers coming in hot pink or fire engine red the way some lower end plastic laptops do.
Even the very colorful iBook only stuck around for a couple years before Steve change his mind to “ you can get any color you want as long as it’s silver or white”.
