But they didn’t get the price drop at all, is what I said. It’s exactly the same price as the M3 was.
Shame, they decreased it in my country:

Here in Canada the base price of the 13” Air has jumped to $1,399; this +40% vs US price. “Spec bumps” just jumped from $250 to $300 each, meaning 24GB RAM is now $300 more and 512GB storage is now $300 more. The 15” Air now starts at $1,699. A modest 15” Air with 16GB/512GB now costs $1,999 here.

Hahaha a lot of people were expecting this with also a better battery, an extra thunderbolt port or even a brighter screen but no…

They also removed both M2 and M3 MacBook Air so you are forced to buy M4 for more money hehehe
The new M4 MBA 15 16/512 with edu discount (in U.S.) is priced exactly the same as the M3 MBA 15 16/512 I ordered a few days ago from Costco. Keep in mind the Costco sale price was actually cheaper than M3 edu pricing. Guess which one is going back?

I know they updated the MacBook Pro's display with the M4 generation - brighter, faster response time, etc. Any such updates to the Air's display that we can see? It's a nice enough display but quite pedestrian in comparison to the Pro's.

The Sky Blue looks good!

The price reduction and increasing the RAM this past fall to 16GB starting is a great move. Maybe next year we'll finally get increased storage. :p

I'm obviously alone in not finding the color "beautiful" or "gorgeous"

All these muted "tints" are really not that attractive to me

So many of them look like "dirty silver"

I miss real, vibrant, color options
It kind of reminds me of one of the best iPhone colors ever - Sierra Blue
Why remove Space Grey? That was probably the most popular option. Doesn’t make sense to me.
I’ve always thought Silver was the most popular Apple laptop color. Since they have been introducing these darker colors (Midnight, Space Black, etc), space grey seems to be less popular. Apple seems to have eliminated space grey from basically ALL of its products (MacBook Pro already went to Silver and Space Black; no grey IMac or Mac mini; no space grey iPhones, etc)

If only it didn’t have that stupid stupid display… I don’t want a boring looking 3.000 EUR 16” Pro with fans, I just want a decent display in the Air.
I’ll never get a Mac, been waiting long enough and they’ll never make these machines up to date…☹️

Now I can replace my old MacBook Air 2017. Well done Apple!
I imaging that is going to feel like going from an iPhone 8 to a 16. I too was just thinking to myself reading the headline „wow there really never was a better time to upgrade“. But in general, any 5yo or older device in itself gives much reason to upgrade. I have a 2017 MBP and I’m waiting for the day that thing dies, because I can finally pull the plug and get what I was hoping I was getting back then (it was my first Mac and it will be my worst Mac). Hope you're gonna enjoy it.

My M1 Macbook Air is still going good, I guess I will wait for the m5, I hope they increase the battery life upto 22 hours and remove that notch!

“The M4 chip debuted in the iPad Pro earlier this year” or last year… time flies!

Anyway I’m disappointed the battery life didn’t see any improvements after the M4 Pro chips gaining so much…

Seems like if anyone is considering upgrading from the base specs they might as well go with the base Pro which comes with the first tier upgrades plus more ports.

At $999 and $1,999 - the M4 MacBook Airs look like better values than the $1,599 MacBook Pro. In particular, unless you need the extra storage, I don’t think the $1,599 MacBook Pro is $600 better than the MacBook Air. But once you start adding storage, the M4 MacBook Pro starts to look better (though I still think the design is unattractive given the weird proportions)

There's a $400 delta on the 24/1TB configuration, which isn't nothing, but having the nano-texture available on the Pro is something I'm considering. Just trying to decide whether it's all worth having a heavier machine to carry around.

I may be biased since I just prefer the Pros since I actually use the USB-C port on the right side (the luxury!)

Just seems like it's one of those rare moments in history where the base model offering of an Apple product is actually sufficient.
