I really, really need a new MBP, so consider my interest piqued.

As an aside, I’m still disappointed Apple conceded the router market. I’d love to have a throughly updated Time Capsule...though I know that cuts into their cloud storage revenue so it’ll likely never happen. Sigh.

Reliable leakers on Twitter are saying there will be 2 x 13" notebooks. Digging a little further, it looks like exactly the same chassis as current 13" MBA & 13" MBP, just with Apple silicon with a proper redesign not coming until well into next year.

Guess we won't have long to find out.

I agree, though I'm holding a 2% chance of a surprise 14" MBP!

Personally, I'm buying a new laptop to replace my 2014 MBA after this event. Whether or not it will be an Intel or ARM based MBP is the question. 14" would simply lock that purchase choice without hesitation.

Wish it would take on a Friday, can't have too many beers during this (Tuesday)event. 🍺

Looking forward to this event, but most likely will be underwhelming as last 2 have been.

Want/need a new Mini, but doubt it will be one of the first commercially available (There's already the Dev. one), more likely one of the last ones to get AS.

Based on phone design, the Apple design team can accommodate a larger battery. Again they chose not to...
Why would you need that much power in a phone? The A14 already blows anything in an Android phone out of the water. Also, you conveniently ignored the heat part - the large aluminum enclosure of iPads and Macs can be used as a heat sink. Phones are smaller and are mostly made of glass, so the chip would have to throttle to prevent overheating so you end up not benefiting from the extra performance anyway.

Cannot wait to get one of these new Macs. I haven’t purchased a brand new Mac since 2015 so I’m certainly ready for one.

Hopefully this brings tons of new software to the platform and possibly a merging of iOS and MacOS app stores. With super fast flash storage/memory and potentially new leaps in graphics capabilities and power efficiency these new computers should be amazing all around.

I’m not gonna lie. I saw this...

Come on Apple, bring back the colours! 😂

Looking forward to this event.
As always an early adopter and very interested to see how all this pans out.

I do believe AS is the start of the real consumer domination / iPhone iPad and Mac.

Performance generally isn't the same between the Air and Pro iPads. Right now we're in a weird time because the Air has a newer chip than the Pro, but generally the Pro has the X/Z version of whatever chip the Air has, with more cores.. so better performance namely in the graphics department. Although, the Pro version of the iPhone does have the same processor as the normal version..

I am so intrigued and excited to see how they structure their post-Intel lineup of computers. And it all kicks off in 8 days! Woo 🥳
For NOW yes, :) but across all iPhones in a given year (and even among iPad Pro’s and iPad Air’s , as individual groups) of THIS year,) performance is very similar. You don’t choose the “speed” of your phone or iPad, you just choose how many cameras you want and what size, color, etc. Apple could potentially eliminate the performance/feature gradient we’ve gotten accustomed to primarily because Intel needs the i9 to be able to do things the i3 can’t.
