Hoping for a Mac Mini, or Air. Both with Apple Silicon. Or even a 13" MBP. Would trade in the existing Air.

What would a new appletv do? It already plays the top level of steaming output (Dolby vision and atmos lite). Is it just a speed bump you’re after?

Yes and expected lifespan. I currently have an ATV3 from 2012, so if I update I want something that has the horsepower to last potentially into the late 20's if not early 30's.

I hope they put out something professional. Another ultralight portable that is almost Intel level would be a huge disappointment.
The only thing that would make that more attractive is unusually long battery life. But could thrown a curve ball at iPad sales.

Students would prefer a ARM based laptop with moderate CPU performance over a iPad because of using MacOS and a mouse over touch iPadOS and a external keyboard.

I use both, but a ultralight weight laptop with long battery life could disrupt apple's current marketplace. Wonder if Apple thought about that? ;)

This is the last time I remember using a light-from-behind-logo motif:

Getting myself prepared for every future mac os version to add neat new features only for Apple silicon macs and not my iMac or MBP with intel. So, should I jump over now or later? I don't do bootcamp often to even warrant staying intel.

I want to see something that would let me push Capture One editing like 45MP RAW images are nothing.

Oh yesss...get the 1st gen released asap and the big kinks worked out. I'll be looking to buy this time next year if things go to plan (which they probably won't, hahahaha).

Adobe’s been hard at work bringing their engine to ARM for awhile. Their apps for the iPad are using that updated engine. And, with the Mac having a same class processor, bringing that work to the Mac will be straightforward. I expect Photoshop and Illustrator (based on their recent release of an iPad app) on day one, others as time goes by.
Indeed they have! And yes, I imagine they have all of the frameworks in place for a simple transition. I fell in love with Adobes Fresco app, and have used but didn’t get on so well with the iPad version of Photoshop. Learning curves, and all that. I’m just really excited for Apple on ARM, and hope other big software developers follow suit. ARM is the future of computing.

2021 will be a expensive year for me..

iPad Pro with A14X and new screen tech.
iPhone Pro Max 2021 with 120hz (don't think will be the 13)
14" MacBook Pro with new design and A15X

Ouch!

Why does anyone assume that Macs will have an A Series processor? Just like the Watch, the ASi in Macs will be a whole new branch. It will have much higher TDP and therefore way higher benchmarks.

Who thinks they're going to have a "One More Thing..." at the end of this event?

I predict they'll start out with a bang and go right into the new Macbook (Pro?). They'll talk about the incredible battery life and impressive "Desktop-Class" performance in a notebook (Alluding to the graph they showed us at WWDC).

Then they jump into a big segment about Big Sur. They'll announce and show off a bunch of apps (in addition to all of their own, and the ones they already showed at WWDC) that have already been working on Apple Silicon, as well as all of he iPhone and iPad apps that "just work" on apple silicon. Craig will demonstrate even more cool features that Apple Silicon has to offer on Big Sur from what we already saw at WWDC. Macbook will ship late November.

Then we'll jump back to the secret labs and Jonny will do a big segment on Apple Silicon. He'll talk about their new Mac-specific line of chips that will pave the way for new macs.

Finally, at the end, Tim will come out and say "One More Thing..." and they will hit us with the first major redesign of the iMac in over a decade. This one comes with an even beefier chip inside with even more power. Slim bezels, flat back design similar to the Pro Display XDR. iMac will ship mid December (before the holidays).
