Ok. So twenty years give or take! I didn't realise the really minis had an external brick. First I had was in 2011.
So...
...no black front
...huge WHITE bezel
...no front Apple logo
...no 27" or 32" or whatever size
Boy, that cries out loud for an iMac Pro coming. But when?
I guess the design is cool, the new speakers/mics/camera system is nice, and the ethernet connexion via the power cable is brilliant, but overall I'm kinda disappointed.

White Bezel ? Everything else seems fine, even the chin .. but .. but ... WHITE BEZEL !!!!!!!
I suspect that there will be an iMac Pro of some sort at WWDC, this is where the black/gray options come in. Because so far, there is no replacement for the 27" Intel model. And I hope that Pro model loses the "chin", given it gets a bigger screen with more 'real estate' behind it.
I can’t believe they kept the border and the chin. Nice colours but this is not for me.
Would you rather have a notch at the top? It's like a logo, to identify it as an apple product, otherwise from the front, it looks like a competitor's productThe chin... why?
Honestly - extremely disappointed. No face ID, no backlight for keyboard, same idiotic unergonomic mouse, disgusting colors & no black/grey option, no 32inch option, fugly chin. Ridiculous 256GB SSD. OMG, what the hell.
I don't think, it will. Apple will you, to buy different dongles, hubs, card readers and such.
That's why I am constantly and slowly moving away from Apple products. Because they don't meet my needs.
The good thing is, there is enough alternatives, more than ever.
Think of it as iPhone regular (colours) vs iPhone Pro Max. These dark colours are reserved for the new iMac Pro with M1X that is due at the end of this year.
The chin&bezel whinging makes me laugh too. Like MR has ever been right about an Apple product.

Kind of sad only 2 of the 4 ports are Thunderbolt while the other two are only USB. Also, why is the ethernet port on the charger, not the actual motherboard?
genuinely happy that I didn't wait for this and bought my iMac 2020

And what does it look like when turned off? Our iMac at home sits in the corner and looks pretty stylish with the black screen and bezel. it is hard to see this new model looking nice with the white border around (I presume) a black screen.

Yeah pretty sad. I'm sure it rocks performance-wise but it looks like an iPad on a stick with dongle hanging out its ass. Hopefully they'll offer a new pro version in 27"+ and ditch the 90's gummy bear candy colors for some space grey, gray-green … something with a more professional edge.
