The silly things people keep complaining about all the time. This is an entry level computer targeted at millennials. Once the next generation of M SoC is available we will likely see the bigger version, but probably with only the standard colors. I believe this new entry level iMac will be a commercial success. Well done Apple! Hopefully we will see a new MacBook Pro with M1X or M2 or whoever by.the end of this year.

IT STILL HAS A CHIN?!?!?!WHY!!!
Because i) it's likely to be FUNCTIONAL and ii) from a product design perspective it actually make it look BETTER! Maybe a controversial opinion to those hardcore geeks that get angry in here, but most of the public and certainly I think most designers would say it looks better and gives it form. If it was just a floating screen then it would just look like a boring monitor, in the same way more phone these days all look the same. This has a commanding presence on a desk when switched on or off, I'm surprised people in these forums can't see that.

As for height adjustment... move your head, it has more adjustment than any monitor would do. I have a monitor at work that can be adjusted an infinite number of ways... I never once bother to adjust it!

SEE! No pastels. I was doubting the pastels all week. Suggested a bright Mazda Soul Red and a VW Atlantic Blue. Looks like I was close.

Not sure why no silver though. I guess white is fine. Black/dark Gray hasn’t sold well as desktop Mac colors in the past.

So...

...no black front
...huge borders
...no front Apple logo
...no 27" or 32" or whatever size

Boy, that cries out loud for an iMac Pro coming. But when?

I guess the design is cool, the new speakers/mics/camera system is nice, and the ethernet connexion via the power cable is brilliant, but overall I'm kinda disappointed.
It's an entry level iMac with M1.

The iMac Pro with GPU is clearly coming later in the year or next. Obviously with beefier specs & probably with a different more premium design.

Everyone at my house was screaaaming for the new iMacs when it popped up. Guess we’re all different 🐣.

"Hey you know people love the iMac for its versatility of ports and upgradability right, let's remove all of them and make them use a dongle like on an ultrabook instead. For familiarity sake" - iMac design team 2021
only the start 24" imac has 2 usb4 and headphone jack, the 1499 and up will have
  • Two USB 3 ports extra

THIS!

I love it, reminds me of the old plastic iMacs of the 90s and brings some much needed character to the very boring silver/space grey trend. Hope they end up doing something similar for the 27" (or whatever new size they use).

There is a silver one.

This looks hideous, I don't want to spend all day sat in front of one of these. Was hoping for a chinless 27" or bigger M1 upgrade, so there's nothing here for me.

Might as well stick with my Intel Macbook Pro 16" for now, as it's a lovely thing, and maybe look into a Mac Mini option as a desktop companon instead.

Maybe it’s just me but i never had issues with connecting bower to my imacs. And if there is a thing i hate, that‘s the power brick. Why put magsafe where it doesn’t belong?

It’s where the circuit board, chip etc are now located.
Everybody understands that. What we don't understand is Apple's obsession with a desktop being thin while the most visible design aspect continues to be huge (the chin). It looks even more ridiculous now without the logo breaking up all that space. Why not make it thicker and get rid of the chin???

Wtf is this a late April fool?

Whats with that massive chin? Are Apple out of their minds? Who wants to look at that chin? Just make the goddam thing 2mm thicker.

And where's Space grey?

Crazy.
