You can keep that crap with those FRUITY colors! I don't mind the chin much, but give me a SPACE GRAY or BLACK option! No height adjustment or VESA mount, either?! Just tilting, huh? 🤮 NO THANKS. 🤮

For my needs, I would have preferred to be able to mount this iMac on a monitor mount. I like preserving desk space.

Also, couldn't they just make a 24" iPad Pro looking device with no chin?

FFS, this thing should FLOP but they'll likely sell millions of them. They certainly won't sell as many as they could have, though. I'll wait for something else.
There's a silver option on all models.

it's not surprising but sad to see no HDMI input :( makes this a useless product for me.
M1 can only drive 2 displays - one of which is built in. You’ll probably be able to use a USB-C to HDMI dongle on one of the TB ports. Adding a HDMI would have prevented the use of DisplayPort or Thunderbolt displays.

M1 iMac is fine as a replacement for the 21.5” (although I don’t like the looks) - but wake me up when the M2 comes out...

um, 24"? that's it? or are they giving us a second size option?..
That was my primary question, and the reason why I can't buy one of these first day. If they announce a bigger one later this year with sane colour options, then I'd regret pulling the trigger now. So... crap.

I actually really like the design, knowing that they missed some opportunities for real changes. That said, I’m wondering about the high end machines. Is it possible Apple is having trouble with the bigger Apple silicon? Two thunderbolt ports max, 16 Gb ram, still using the m1? Worrisome. Maybe June will bring something more impressive.

It's not, and certainly not for the Mac. The way Touch ID works on the MacBook is absolutely awful.
Works great for me on my MacBook Pro. The FaceID is balls on my iPhone, half the time I need to enter my passcode because it's too dark for FaceID to work. TouchID all day or FaceID. Or, just have both.

How do you not get it You realize that we are going to get a new iMac that is bigger more ports more powerful and more professional. This is good for most people. Lol. Not every machine is made for macrumors fanatics. This is meant to replace the 21 inch. Not the 27.
Why do you keep posting the same thing over and over?

The “chin” is where all the tech is, speakers, logic board, cooling, it’s necessary, even if it’s ugly, not sure why they removed the logo
I’ll tell you why Apple has removed the logo: for the same reason they removed the “MacBook Pro” branding from the screen bezel of their 2015 models onwards; i.e. much like Steve Jobs and Jony Ive, there are a lot of logo-averse people at Apple, who are also so confident about their brand recognition that they don’t even feel like they have to have more than one (1) Apple logo per product.

Also, it’s one less thing for vfx editors to manually edit out in movies and TV shows and, again, they look so obviously “Mac” that they don’t even need to have the logo on the front to be recognized as such.

As for daily usage, Apple is, indeed and once again, more concerned about showing off their logo to others (like, say, customers facing a receptionist’s/checkout desk with an iMac on it, or fellow library-goers facing a Mac user) than to the users themselves, because they obviously know what they have in from of them and don’t need to be constantly reminded of it.

couldn't agree more. colors are garbage. screen size is lame. i had very high hopes for this guy once rumors surfaced that the display may be 32" or so... meh.

There is a reason they chose not to update the 27" at this point. It is quite clear to me that the 24" is a consumer device, while the 27" replacement will become the new iMac Pro with more ports and power — and a hefty price tag.

Worst thing about this is the price. And what that means for any upcoming "pro" version. If you get this with 16GB RAM and a decent amount of storage it's going to be over $2K. A $2K desktop with what is essentially an iPhone chip. How much will they charge for one with an M1X etc?

I still think the current MacBook Pro 16 computer is still the better value. More ram, more storage and I can always connect a larger monitor external and it is still portable when I need it.

So, clearly they're planning on iMac Pro for some time in the next 18 months with:
1. Dark color
2. Something better than M1
3. Larger display

I actually like the design… anything is better than the old 21.5/27 iMacs.

If I were to get one I’d get an orange one probably. Maybe blue! Still would prefer a space grey/black one….

that said I’m NOT getting one. 24” is pathetic. I want at least a 27” display. Also, needs to have options for minimum of 32GB RAM.

I was legit ready to drop money on these new iMacs but I guess it’s back to the waiting game.

It appears, the upper tier models won’t arrive until at least late this year.

Thanks Apple for taking away choice, cant upgrade ram or ssd ect....
Yes, you can (just only at the time of system purchase).

🤦‍♂️ to all of those screaming about the “chin” and bezels. Your responses seem akin to bracing for nuclear fallout or a child having a tantrum. Sheesh!

I do side with the disappointment about the lack of a space gray or otherwise neutral dark option.
