Very confusing design choices here. Why make it so unnecessarily thin while keeping that chin? Why the poor connectivity? Why those obscure color options? And most importantly why those awful white bezels?

Really makes a mac mini with some display look like the far better choice here, especially economically.

The chin looks fine. Don’t y’all remember the renders from a while ago?

No chin would just look like an iPad. There needs to be some visual difference from the front.

Or...rather than be unhappy for another 10 years, take a look at Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, etc and find happiness.
Well, Surface Studio design is way much better than the iMac. Too bad it has Windows. In any case, Apple use to lead in design and this iMac is a total failure. I rather buy a Mac Mini, a get a good monitor with slim black bezels and adjustable height.

Yes, don’t like the chin, or large bezel. Silly colors true.

But for me, you can get an iPad with 2tb storage, the max on a desktop is 512gb??? Seriously?

That makes so much sense.

Looks like a giant iPad (with white bezels) slapped on a stand
I wish it did. They obviously miscalculated and added an ugly chin, without a logo, making that white space stand out - clearly without purpose. All that tech inside could have moved behind the screen, had their obsession with keeping it thin not taken over. So much attention to how “the first thing you see is the back” but then what about the rest of the day when you have to see the front! What’s more is those white bezels clash with the darker tones. What’s up with the magnetic cable on a desktop? How often do you unplug your Mac? It’s not even height adjustable! So many disappointments in a bundle for me. I had higher hopes from a redesign that took so long. What’s sad is that we are stuck with this design - it may show up on the new “iMac Pro” (if there is one), but I sure hope it does not.

Make it as thick as a brick if you have to but PLEASE GET RID OF THE CHIN.

Look how green our company is, now kindly toss out all the electronics you have that still use USB-A, even if they still have years of usable life in them, so the backside of our desktop doesn't have to look slightly less appealing.

Or.... take a wee bit of personal responsibility and purchase a 5-pack of USB-C to USB-A cables for $9.99.

I actually like the white bezels, and would have loved a completely white iMac. The chin is not so great but I get why it's there. What I do have a problem with is the lack of ports, RAM, better GPU - all of which will probably be addressed in the next (bigger) one. That's not great, because I would really like a 24" iMac, I'm not into larger screens on my desk.

Also, what is wrong with those arrow keys? Why are they still shaped like the butterfly-inspired version? I guess it's a bit of the good-old form over function again. Speaking of which, I wonder if they repositioned the charging port on the mouse...

OMG ... that chin ... white bezel ... awful colours ... hideous design.
What were they thinking?
Why?
We all expected a thicker iMac with the components placed behind the screen ... this chin is horrible, what a shame ...

Magnet power - Good job.
24inch, 4.5K - Good job.
No dark color - Bad move.
The chin - A big disaster.
The speakers - Not everyone need it. I use separate DAC and monitor speakers.
No USB-A - What can I do with keyboards, mice and DAC ???
No way to adjust height of monitor - Suck my neck.
Price tag - 1300$ with 16GB memory will be ok, not ridiculous 8GB.

After all: Disappoint #do-not-by-it.

They can keep these. They're ugly...and max out at 512GB of storage?! (I guess there will be the option to max out at 2TB, but, it's not showing yet in the store)

Well, there you go. That's why Apple provides choices.

^ This is incomprehensibly ridiculous. No one should have to do that in order to connect their Apple phone to their Apple computer.

A hideous chin, no black colour, no VESA mount, a proprietary fixed 2m length cable and limit of 4 ports and 8GB RAM all make this completely uninteresting to me. I don’t care how thin it is, but how it matches in my two external screen setup.
