I personally find the design very polished, good, impressive and beautiful. I was never expecing a screen like a big iPad on a dock. I was expecting the same previous design, but thinner. What they showed is much better than I had expected.

I personally find the design very polished, good, impressive and beautiful. I was never expecing a screen like a big iPad on a dock. I was expecting the same previous design, but thinner. What they showed is much better than I had expected.
I have no probelm with that. I proudly wear my pink polo shirt with white jeans sometimes. (notice that I said "sometimes") I also have a Hello Kitty sticker on the back of my pink iPhones. It's pink.... even if Apple wants to call it Rose Gold or whatever.
I see it as something I want to see happening: The ethernet being silently deprecated, everyone uses wifi now.
2 Things I don't understand.
1 - They must have shown the design to a select audience to gather opinion before launch, right ?

The guy approved that chin and bezels MUST be fire immediately.
Perhaps Apple's designers get weed and mushroom while they are working. Forgive me but they need more to complete the jobs 🤣.

One thing we don’t know is what clock the iMac M1 will run at. One might hope it runs at 3.6 or higher with more room to breath.

I’d imagine the depth of the port required isn’t practical to include in the main body
If they wanted to just drop it they would have dropped it like they did on the laptops.
going to the effort of providing a power brick which also has Ethernet is not something you do to deprecate support for something.
Also as someone living in a house made entirely out of concrete (yes even internal walls), no. Wifi is fine for a lot of purposes but doesn’t work in every scenario, sometimes Ethernet is the only
I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple removed Ethernet from their consumer line desktops but that doesn’t mean no one uses it.

All I wanted is an iMac that looks like the XDR display without the cheese grater things on the back.
A chin on 24" display might be "OK" as the display is small but seeing the same design on a 30" iMac is completely unacceptable. It's 2021 FFS...

Finally!!! iMac gets a redesign. Still has the chin. Could have made it less and retained the logo since going to stay for some time surely. Disappointed to see it disappear. Why has apple done away with something so eyecatching???? However I like all the new colours. Now just hope that the bigger iMac will also come in the same colours. Just love the colours.
Definitely...Ironically this is the slimmest iMac ever...so now we get slimmer and UGLIER...

Perhaps they got rid of logo so that iMac can be easily shown in movies or netflix series?
Speakers wise, why isn't the chin covered by display glass? Sony has done it in TV's quite successfully...
Actually, quite a lot; computer inches from the wall, but desk is accessible from the side where I access the space so I see it all the time (and it's beautiful)

Front wise it could and should be covered with display glass. Sony has done it quite successfully in TV sets.
Just a all glass front with embedded chin. How hard can it be?
This is not only horrendous, it is lame design, no matter how they paint it.
