Not up yet? The guy in charge of putting this out my be the same guy who was in charge of WiFi at the SteveNote today.

Haha!

If you go to Apple's website on the safari page, there seems to be a NEW sticker on the top left corner of the page that i didn't see there a few days ago. They must be working on Switching over to Safari 5 as we speak!

lol my macbook is already getting Snappier just knowing that it's about to get updated to Safari 5 :) hehe

I noticed this too.

the prnewswire link is dead after viewing just a few minutes ago- was this a fake or jump the gun article?

It is certainly happening today.

oh darn!
i was getting excited then i saw the press release was pulled,
i think this will come out along side 10.6.4.

That would make my day.

Maybe the new version won't cause as many crashes with flash...hah

Wow your right, even ifi put in like safari6, it comes up as page not found but both safari4 and safari5 says forbidden...

now how to get by that forbidden barrier

we just need to find exactly where safari4 is stored, and adapt the link to safari5

Finally, extensions! I'm so excited to see this. I do hope that those extensions make it possible to add some interface tweaks and other nice features I'm craving for so long, like a blacklist for the popup blocker. This should also be interesting for existing plugins to run natively in Safari.

Hopefully Safari 5 will have a content blocking API like Firefox, wich an ad blocking extension can take advantage of.

A Safari 5 announcement would have drawn away from the hotness that was the presentation of the already demoed iOS4 and stolen iPhone.

No tabs on top. What a disappointment. Apple is gonna go bankrupt at this rate :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Just kidding :D This is the best f--king update to happen in a long while. Everything I could have asked for. Thank you Apple!!

I've never read the safari website before today.
Just noticed this:

What is Safari?
It’s a browser. It’s a platform. It’s an open invitation to innovate. Whether on a Mac, PC, iPhone, or iPod touch, Safari continuously redefines the browser, providing the most enjoyable way to experience the Internet.

I'll never understand the need for such flamboyant market speak. Why not:

What is Safari?
A browser. Next...

What does it do?

If it is faster than Chrome and Firefox, then I need 5 extensions/scripts to ditch them both:

1) Adblock
2) Flashblock
3) Xmarks
4) Helvetireader Greasemonkey Script
5) Instapaper in Google Reader Greasemonkey Script
