Does it really matter?

2Gb ram - no problem
4Gb ram - no problem
6Gb ram - no problem

I'm missing where RAM is an issue in todays world?

I have 10GB, but right now Safari is using 1.17GB (12 tabs, all primarily text, one YouTube) and those numbers are problematic for a lot of users.

Can't wait for the support of extensions. Finally we won't have to finagle ways to achieve what we want.

Some daring soul who has 1Password, when this comes out tell us if Safari 5 breaks it.

Come on now!

Not up yet? The guy in charge of putting this out my be the same guy who was in charge of WiFi at the SteveNote today.

If you go to Apple's website on the safari page, there seems to be a NEW sticker on the top left corner of the page that i didn't see there a few days ago. They must be working on Switching over to Safari 5 as we speak!

lol my macbook is already getting Snappier just knowing that it's about to get updated to Safari 5 :) hehe

the prnewswire link is dead after viewing just a few minutes ago- was this a fake or jump the gun article?

i'm guessing a jump the gun, seeing that it was an official sounding release, and the safari state of the union address going on right now

Yahoo! er I mean Apple!
Shame that the most exciting piece of info (for me any way) came from a press release not the keynote :(

Maybe, maybe not. If it does break Glims you can be sure that the developer will have an update out soon as the new Safari will support it even better. No haxies required.

When Snow Leopard broke Glims it was a good two or three months before he fixed it. Of course it might be easier to fix if just Safari is changed but who knows?
