Now i can finally switch from RAM heavy firefox to safari. it was really the only thing holding me back.

Well, maybe, but part of the reason Firefox is so ram heavy is because of its support for extensions, it all really depends on how Apple implements it.

:apple:TV is really more of a september media announcement than a june iPhone announcement. We'll probably see new pros at the typical mid-summer hardware/iLife update.

The apple update cycle is becoming more predictable every year.

Just in time for iOS4 for the iPad. They will need some new announcents and features to show why everyone waited. I can see the Carolina server farm being operational then and a slew of announcements related toclpud computing, which the ipad falls under as well perfect time to announce new ATV. Even if they still call it a hobby :)

And now the press release is pulled... that makes me a sad panda:(

I've never read the safari website before today.
Just noticed this:

What is Safari?
It’s a browser. It’s a platform. It’s an open invitation to innovate. Whether on a Mac, PC, iPhone, or iPod touch, Safari continuously redefines the browser, providing the most enjoyable way to experience the Internet.

I'll never understand the need for such flamboyant market speak. Why not:

What is Safari?
A browser. Next...

What does it do?

well u certainly sound like a boring person. And a car just drives you and food just feeds you... Find some sense off passion.

I'm confused.

I just now did a "Software Update" and my MacBook downloaded version 4.0.5. And, I just updated my software a few days ago. So, this is a new Safari update for me. Well, maybe my computer just never picked up 4.0.5 before? Hmmm.

Is this the 5 that we're talking about?

When I look at my "About Safari" it says: Version 4.0.5 (6531.22.7)

It took a long time to install.

No, that updates was released a while back.

Well, "today" hasn't ended in SanFran yet, I make it 16:20 Pacific time right now. Apple software releases usually happen after close of business.

I'm waiting to read PDFs in iBooks on iPad...

Ah, OK. Makes sense. Thanks.

I see on the CNET download site that 4.0.5 was released a while back.

Strange that my MB never picked that up. Maybe it'll fix my fan speed revving up whenever I have 20+ tabs open, etc.
