Thanks. Being a developer, I can make that judgement. At least for myself.
The tabs may drive me crazy or I may learn to love them but one thing is certain I cannot get Google Docs to load!
Is anyone else having this problem? I use Google Docs a lot and was really hoping S4 would IMPROVE compatibility but instead going to Google Docs I just get a completely blank page. Gmail works, Analytics works, but no gDocs.
Any suggestions?
+1 for gmail issues. my google apps/work account is working, but gmail itself gets stuck on a blank page - apart from that great browser.
any ideas on getting gmail unstuck for safari 4?
I guess that works. It's just with the Aluminum Macbook, I had gotten quite used to pinch to zoom, when I used the zoom feature, which was not quite often.Try Cmd-"+" and Cmd- "-" for zoom...
and zoom in and out on the trackpad is UBER-sensitive now - unusable.
when viewing the history or bookmarks, how do you view in cover flow mode. I am on a winXP
Can Anyone help me out really quickly??
I am a mac fan but by no means a computer wiz ..
I just installed Safari 4 and want to make some the adjustments (e.g. move my tabs and restore my status bar). Could someone please give me a step by step of how to do it?? Most Appreciated![]()
You move tabs by clicking on the top-right corner (with the little lines) and dragging them around. You restore the status bar via View > Show Status Bar.I just installed Safari 4 and want to make some the adjustments (e.g. move my tabs and restore my status bar). appreciate that.
Yeah I have the same problem. I love the full screen zoom but I now have to press Cmd and +/-/0. Multitouch for zoom is totally unusable now. I reported this problem to apple. Hopefully they fix it in the final release.
Another thing I like to add: The tabs at the top took a bit of time to get used to but now I prefer this way. I really like the look of it. Especially how the gradients look on the selected tab (especially on the first tab).
The history/bookmarks should be already in coverflow mode. Are you sure you are using Safari 4?
Uninstalled 4.
Couldn't delete messages in my Hotmail inbox.
Couldn't watch videos on CNN.
Couldn't open any of my bookmarks that were in folders.
This browser isn't ready. And no... that's NOT why they call it Beta. This is Alpha.![]()
Quicksilver is far quicker.Well, maybe I'm just OCD, but how the heck do you organize all your bookmarks then? Lump them all in one folder?
Resolution Independence!! Zooming with (Command +) renders pages using Resolution Independence - zooming in maintains integrity and sharpness of fonts. Safari 4 amazingly fast, BTW - well beyond snappy!!
It's not resolution independence as far as I can tell. It just looks like some bicubic image resizing along with proportional font scaling. Opera has been doing it for years. If it were resolution independence text wouldn't scale within frames while the frames remained the same size - the whole lot would scale proportionately. Zoom in on this page now and you'll notice the frame width remains constant as the text gets bigger. I think a lot of it depends on the CSS implementation of the site in question. With this site, for example, you'll notice when you zoom that the relationship between the text area of a post and the area that contains the poster's details changes, and it changes for the worse, with the text area growing smaller and the user area growing uselessly larger.
