Others say "Snappier". I say "Slower" I have no idea what happened, Yesterday I installed Safari 4 and it seemed to work great. Today it is definitely slower that all four of my web browsers.

Having about 5 + tabs open makes 4 much slower than 3 for me, seems like there's some kind of major performance problem when you have lots of tabs open. I'm well aware it's a beta, and it's buggy, and unstable, I'm just noting my only issue with it.

Maybe you are using the Windows version, I haven't experience one problem with S4. No crashing and no bugs. Anyone having issues with other apps after S4 is installed is because they have installed haxies that don't agree with S4.

You must be joking... Seriously...

It's a little bit slower with a lot of tabs open but I don't think it's a major problem.

It gets a lot slower after 10 tabs for me, this isn't even demanding content, just forum pages... Just beach balls for a bit, then it's a bit sluggish, I'm sure it'll be fixed though, I've sent several bug reports on what sites cause the biggest slow downs.

Hmm. That stinks, I opened about 5 Tabs and Few other windows Still going pretty fast for me anyway. They'll fix up though!

Just compress all tabs in one window apple, no reason to add the ... thingy, it's a messy solution...you ve copied opera in so many respects, copy that too...
What is a "window apple"? You're not making sense.
HEY APPLE IS THERE A REASON WHY YOU HAVE TO CLICK THE TOP RIGHT OF THE TAB TO MOVE IT ABOUT INSTEAD OF THE ANYWHERE ON THE TAB AS IN CHROME?

NO. IT'S JUST BAD INTERFACE.
Hey jackfrost123 is there reason your caps lock key on why you cant turn off no its just bad posting

I love this post. It basically says that safari 4 beta is perfect and any issues cannot be the fault of safari, because its perfect.

Man I really can't stand this new Safari. I hate the Tabs. I tried to reload a page and can't see an obvious button to click to refresh other than command R. Where is it!?

...would be more accurate. Some of the posts in this thread have been downright obnoxious. I don't know why people have to go out of their way to attack other posters who say they find anything wrong with something Apple. Just what do they get out of it? It's a mystery to me. There are a few self-appointed Apple Police on MR and they know who they are. Just give it a break, will ya?

I downloaded Safari 4 beta and really liked it, but I just downloaded it to try it out since it is currently in beta and uninstalled it. I'd rather wait until the official final Safari 4 version is released. One of things I did not see is the progress blue bar that is built into the address bar in Safari 3. I really like this feature in Safari. I hope Apple will eventually add this to the final version.

Really not that impressed! I have completely removed this update from my system. I am running a fresh updated erase and install OS, and have been running Firefox, Camino, Safari 3.2.1 and have had no problems at all. Safari 4 was in my opinion (at least on my machine) completely slow, and at times completely unresponsive. For example: it took about 2 minutes to pull up macrumors.com among other sites. At the same time my other browsers were lightning fast at the same URL. I have DSL 3900 down 350 up. WTF!!!! Is anyone having this issue? I can't be the only one? I realize it is only beta, but come on.

How could I be running the Windows version... I'm too tired for joking, bed time me thinks, before I rage at a terrible use of humor.

Of note, it's 3:15am here :) I'm exhausted :D

Well, how would know that you are not running the Windows version. Your sig doesn't show what kind of computer you are using and you didn't mention it either. I've tried the Windows version and it crashed more than once. I have it installed on my Macbook Air and iMac using Leopard and I have no issues whatsoever. Should we expect it to work well on both platforms? Perhaps, but remember the Macintosh is an Apple product and anything Apple makes is likely to be better on the Mac.
Microsoft does the same thing, anything they make for Mac sucks compared to the Windows version.

That post that you were quoting was directed at me. So I am taking your reply as being against me. SHOW ME where did I attack anyone. All I said was that he may have been using the Windows version if he was having issues.
Now, if you were referring to me and if I have attacked anyone point it out before making foolish statements.

Not true. For many years, Office for Mac was considered better than its Windows counterpart.

Okay, and now what's MS's excuse for Office 2008 which we pay for and Messenger which is a joke against the Windows version. It's just an I.M. client, there's no reason for it to be made poor other than to persuade users to use the Windows version.

If my comment was directed at you don’t be so defensive, and think about why I said it. If it wasn't, don't worry about it. The tendency of some people is to react to a negative comment about a product along the lines of "What are you talking about? Idiot. Mine's fine. Must be something you're doing wrong. Don't make stupid comments." I don't want to hear that. Just ignore me if you don't like my opinion. Or frame your disagreement in polite terms (certainly not attacking my English/grammar/whatever).

I like the top sites page, very cool. Also like the coverflow browsing! Nice update

Wow.!!!

51 pages of discussion for just the release of Safari 4 BETA... It is not even the final version yet...

I wonder what will happen when the final version of Safari 4 is released...:rolleyes:
