Impressed that they managed to make it this much thinner. However it's titanium instead of stainless steel, which makes me worry about the price as the titanium models of the regular Apple Watches used to be much more expensive than the stainless steel models
genius really, replace 80c worth of plastic with $6 worth of titanium; and mark up the price by a hundred for the premium-ness

If you live in the US, are there any downsides (beyond theoretical warranty issues) to using a non-USA purchased AppleWatch inside the US? Canada ain't that far away to buy a Series 10 with the 02 sensor.
Was debating this as well!

With phones there can be problems with which LTE bands they support.

I have the glass Series 7 and the screen is totally fine. Actually better than the case, which has a few nicks and scratches. There hasn't been an Edition model in years...the titanium model replaces the SS this year.

You are the Minority by far if your glass has no scratches, just been lucky so far.

Try to find and few models old watch on ebay without scratches. It's rare.
Now compare that to sapphire without scratches and almost non existent with scratches.

I'm just looking for a GPS only version.. I have no use for any of the features specific to the cell model. If the Canadian GPS only version's 02 sensor works fine in the US I'll gladly pop over our northern border and pick up one in Montreal.

It’ll be interesting to see what your result is in trying this.

my guess would be the watch is localized to the same nation as the phone, and that then dictates the available features such as O2 sensor.

hi
i think your question is a great question.

in terms of warranty, and getting service, there were restrictions on this sort of thing, but apple has relaxed alot of the restrictions and you can generally get service internationally for most of apple's products now.
i dont know specifically for the watch if that is true or not.

however, unfortunately, in the case of the Oxygen sensor, although the watch you buy in a foreign country will have that sensor inside the case, you would still need to have an apple ID that is associated with a foreign store, or have your region set to the foreign location in order for that function to be used.

my apple ID and region are both in japan and watch bought in japan.

I've only ever had aluminum models, and I was set to finally buy the bullet and treat myself to a silver Stainless Steel option this year.

But now the "premium" offering is Titanium instead of Stainless Steel, and it looks like Silver is only available on the Hermés version? And it further looks like despite switching from SS to Ti, the Milanese and Link bracelets are still SS? Why are they not matching materials?

Weird decisions. Kinda bummed out, because I love Hermés but I'm not willing to pay such a premium for a a gadget I'll replace in a few years.

Silver is not limited to the Hermes version.

Yeah it’s a shock to me. My wife is tiny and the current 45mm is too big for her. She’s due to upgrade and will be gutted the 41mm has gone as it’ll mean she won’t be able to continue with the Apple Watch. Astonishing strategy by Apple, I’m speechless.
They still sell the 42mm size as well.

So, did I miss it, or did they say nothing about the Blood Oxygen sensor one way or another?

If so.. WTF Apple?

Anyone know if a used watch transferred to a new owner looses the O2 ability, because I'm ready to get my mom a used one that still has a working O2 sensor...
Rumor is that the feature will come back universally in 2025

I've always maintained that Health is the Apple Watch's killer features, and the sleep apnea monitoring is seriously tempting me to upgrade from my Series 8.

The fact that it's thinner and comes in black is icing on a tasty cake.
But no blood oxygen if you can go without that, go for it. Although I’m holding only my SS series 8

I was quietly hoping, but not expecting, that Apple would bring back titanium to the regular models. Unfortunately, I was hoping for the brushed titanium they introduced in Series 5. From the renders, the new polished titanium looks very similar to stainless steel which isn't too exciting. Will have to check them out in store.

If it’s illegal for Apple to import it into the US, would it also be illegal for you to do it? I mean I’m not a lawyer, so I don’t know.

But if Apple is as aggressive about region-locking with oximeters as it is with 3rd party app stores, it could easily detect what you’re doing and disable the oximeter.

Why can’t Apple just make a deal with Masimo already? Apple currently holds about 0.4% of all the money in the world.

I'm currently in Malaysia. Looks like the model numbers are the same as to the US but with different bands. However, the Malaysian Apple Watch has the Blood Oxygen Sensor. Would I be able to buy that here and then use the sensor capabilities in the U.S.?

Just updated to Watch OS 11 on my ultra 2 and I can finally play music straight through the speaker, well done Apple, it only took you 9 years to add the most basic software feature.
How is the music experience? In terms of Loudness & overall sound signature? Is it crispy, warm or balanced sound?

So did they remove the O2 sensor?
FaceTime is banned in UAE. People who purchase iPhone in Dubai don’t have FaceTime app on their phones. It’s not supported in that region.

Hundreds of thousands of Indians purchase iPhones from Dubai to save import duties and government taxes. It is even cheaper than US price. They simply activate iPhone in Dubai, take few photos, put it in their pockets and bring that iPhone back to India. No custom (import) officers at Indian airports can touch them.

After entering India, they just factory reset their iPhones, change the region and voila FaceTime app magically appears on their devices. And it works flawlessly in our country.

I doubt Apple ship AW S10 without that SpO2 sensor, they might be limiting that measurement through software. However we need to verify this before making a purchase.

Ok, impressive. I do like the bigger display and that the Watch can play music and podcasts through the speaker. I imagine these features will show up for the Ultra 3, though I wonder when that would be.

Update: Wait, did I misinterpret this? Is the Series 10 display going to be bigger than the current Ultra 2 or is it just that it'll be AS BIG AS the Ultra 2's display?
According to apple.com, the Ultra 2's screen size is 410 by 502 pixels (1185 sq mm display area), and the 10's screen size is 416 by 496 pixels (1220 sq mm display area). So the Ultra 2 screen size is 97% of the 10. https://www.apple.com/watch/compare/?modelList=watch-ultra-2,watch-series-10
