Can't believe 46 mm is now the smallest Apple Watch..(not to mention the only one). It's like they're pushing me towards Garmin even if I don't want to.
Seeing as there are two sizes at 42mm and 46mm, it looks like the watch achieves its much larger screen by cutting down on bezel while only increasing each watch size by 1mm over last year. Not sure how they’re measuring these things since it claims the 46mm has a larger face than the Ultra’s 49mm. It’s gotta be bezel.

Apple at its event today announced the Apple Watch Series 10, featuring a wide-angle OLED display that is larger than the Apple Watch Ultra, with the company describing it as the "biggest display and thinnest design ever."

The Series 10 is 9.7mm thick, which is nearly 10% thinner than Series 9, and it weighs 20% less than the Stainless Steel Series 9. The Aluminum cases also weigh up to 10% less, while the Series 10 also comes in Grade 5 titanium, replacing stainless steel.

Apple says it's the fastest-charging Apple Watch ever, reaching an 80% charge in 30 minutes. It uses a new neural network to reduce background noise when making calls with the watch.

Apple says the latest Apple Watch model can play music and podcasts directly through the speaker for the first time. It also includes a new depth gauge (good to 20 feet) as well as water temperature for pool and open water swims, as well as a new metal back that integrates the antenna into the housing.

Series 10 can also alert you to sleep apnea conditions, where breathing stops repeatedly during the night. Apple says the algorithm was developed using machine learning and clinical data, and then validated in a large clinical trial.

The new Apple Watch Series 10 comes in Jet Black and Rose Gold, joining the existing Silver Aluminum color. The Apple Watch Series 10 starts at $399, and $499 for cellular models, and will be available to purchase from Friday, September 20.

So, did I miss it, or did they say nothing about the Blood Oxygen sensor one way or another?

If so.. WTF Apple?

Anyone know if a used watch transferred to a new owner looses the O2 ability, because I'm ready to get my mom a used one that still has a working O2 sensor...

I’ve already been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and it doesn’t sound like it has an oximeter, which I actually need for asthma.

I really want to be excited about this, but the truth is that this would be actually a downgrade for me.

Fellow 1st gen SE upgrader to the Series 10 (small size to small size). I adore rose gold. That sealed it for me. Though 3.6 grams heavier than the 1st gen. I panicked though pre-ordering and picked the funky pink sprinkles Nike sport band but I forgot I'm pants at putting on sports bands. Think I'll cancel and then go to the store in person. I do like the shopping experience. Then I can see what the AW looks like on my wrist.

Hmm looks like one or see in person to believe it's thinner. Bit hard to tell in the photos. I hope they're made the bump in the bottom thinner too as that irritates my skin.

No ultra three is a huge disappointment for me. I love the design of the ultra. I don’t know if I could go back down to the series 10 and I typically upgrade my watch every year. So torn on what to do. I think I would need to hold off till I can see it in person And really see how much faster this S-10 chip is over the S9 in the ultra two And I would have a huge decrease in battery life. Definitely something I don’t think I could go back to.

Thinner but they left the Ultra behind.

A little less aesthetically pleasing with the bezels and curved sides. Battery life could have been longer but they went thin which is the usual Apple play.

I would have liked to see a smaller ultra and the ultra itself get some real upgrades.

But honestly the Watch entered the long time between upgrades phase a long time ago.

Overall pretty disappointing. They really don’t know what to do to transform their established lines and feel somewhat complacent.

Rumors were wrong. 42 mm & 46 mm. They didn’t actually say in the keynote for some reason, but it’s on the website now.
Thanks. The website also confirms that the legacy ‘small’ bands (38mm/40mm/41mm) are compatible with the new 42mm case size for S10. Good to know that my existing band collection will be compatible with this & future models in this case size.

I was originally considering S10 (upgrading from S4), but all the rumours about the case size increasing, prompted me to pull the trigger on ordering a new (discounted) S9 SS Graphite yesterday (for only £399). After seeing today’s announcement, I do not regret my decision. Having small wrists, I did not want to go bigger. Good to see that the size increase on the new S10 is minimal though. The images of S10 do seem to show fairly large bezels….which makes me think that we can expect to see the same physical case size, but slimmer bezels on either S11 or S12.

I don’t really feel I will be missing out too much by going with S9 over S10 (S9 is even getting Sleep Apnea detection), but look forward to buying the new 42mm case size on a future model, hopefully with slimmer bezels and maybe some new health features

To everyone upgrading to S10, Ultra2 Black (or discounted S9!) enjoy! 😊

I can't believe there's no starlight. Rose gold is just not the same, and you can see it with some of the band combinations... (such as this) BTW most of these few new band colors suck.. and that was a fake shortage then, with all the same nike bands being available again... yeesh... shouldn't that be illegal? 🤨 maybe...

I’ve got a dilemma…

Would you guys buy a S10 Jet Black Aluminium or a S9 SS (given that the S9 will not be discounted)?
