So the ultra in black still has S9 CPU and new S10 doesnt have blood oxygen any more ? Even in the Uk store its not mentioned in the spec ??????

I think I'll keep my S7 edition which has it all still hahahahaahhaah

They mentioned speaker playback and how it was the first Apple Watch to do this. I'm quite certain my series 2 or 3 allowed me to do this and Apple took the feature away.

I’m excited, but I’m also getting flashbacks of this disaster. Hopefully they perfected the durability of the finish this time.

Heartbroken there's no silver stainless steel... I've been buying them since S2... there's not a single colour way I like now, and none match any of my existing straps.

Natural titanium looks pretty silver to me.

The S10 has blood oxygen in Norway: "Oksygen i blodet-app"

Edit: Mentioned on the UK site, too: "Blood Oxygen app"

The expected 45 and 49mm options were a little off I guess. 42 and 46mm seem a bit of a disappointment. I still have 82% battery on my Series 6 - may wait for a real redesign.

Tech specs on the Canadian page lists the blood oxygen sensor.

”Display
Digital Crown
Microphone with Voice Isolation
Side button
Band release button
Electrical heart sensor
Speaker/air vent
Blood oxygen sensor and optical heart sensor
Band Release”

So the hardware is still there.

Battery life on my Series 6 is poor, so I pulled the trigger on a UG to a jet black 10.
$85 trade in on the old watch. Delivers September 20.

Thanks. The website also confirms that the legacy ‘small’ bands (38mm/40mm/41mm) are compatible with the new 42mm case size for S10. Good to know that my existing band collection will be compatible with this & future models in this case size.

I was originally considering S10 (upgrading from S4), but all the rumours about the case size increasing, prompted me to pull the trigger on ordering a new (discounted) S9 SS Graphite yesterday (for only £399). After seeing today’s announcement, I do not regret my decision. Having small wrists, I did not want to go bigger. Good to see that the size increase on the new S10 is minimal though. The images of S10 do seem to show fairly large bezels….which makes me think that we can expect to see the same physical case size, but slimmer bezels on either S11 or S12.

I don’t really feel I will be missing out too much by going with S9 over S10 (S9 is even getting Sleep Apnea detection), but look forward to buying the new 42mm case size on a future model, hopefully with slimmer bezels and maybe some new health features

To everyone upgrading to S10, Ultra2 Black (or discounted S9!) enjoy! 😊
Yeah, considering they didn't even see a reason to update the Ultra 2 aside from a new color I think the Series 10 is really just a slightly bigger/thinner S9 with a better speaker and that's about it. Nothing official yet but I'm guessing similar to S4 & S5 and the S6, S7 and S8 that the S10 chip is really just a rebranded S9 chip...

It never went away. Only in the US. It's also absolutely still in the German store.

Bought the black one in 42mm, thats only 2mm bigger than my Series 6 so I kinda wonder what all the krafuffel was about there not being a small one anymore. Figured after four years with the silver I could go black now. Kinda worried about scratches buuuuut but but its free anyway via health insurance bonus points so... ill enjoy the patina if it happens xD

Like the green sports loop. Fits my soccer club. Last time I had the solo loop and barely ever wore it.

I think that you are talking about jet black version attracting lot of scratches. This was my second thought too. I hope the jet black version in aluminium finish, doesn’t invite that many scratches like iPhone 7.

Do people really give a crap about the weight and thinness more than the horrendous battery life?
I was rather stunned they went for this - the one thing I instantly want on the AW is better battery life.

When they said 18hr battery life I cringed (saying that as a AW user) - for a device that your supposed to wear 24hrs and takes its time to charge.

Was testing a Pixel 3 45mm over the weekend, full charged during shower at start of day, activities included mowed the lawn, did a 2 mile jog, bunch of laundry and updated all the apps on the phone (since I hadn't done it) and at the end of the day when I turned out the light the battery was at 73%. That is what I want for my AW.

Unfortunatly not the 42mm, but here is a real world look at back 46mm and black ultra 2.

Well, the flashed the 30 Minute charging to 80%. Also I am strongly assuming this will stay like this for the longest while because the USP for ultra can be the battery life and that makes apple more than double on a watch. Sort of like RAM prices on their computers.

That's a relief re: case size compatibility. Going from small 1st gen SE to small S10.

I can't believe there's no starlight. Rose gold is just not the same, and you can see it with some of the band combinations... (such as this) BTW most of these few new band colors suck.. and that was a fake shortage then, with all the same nike bands being available again... yeesh... shouldn't that be illegal? 🤨 maybe...
Gotta agree to disagree. Love the rose gold.

Why are the bezels so big
Well Apple has to keep something aside for Series 11 or 12. 😃

Don’t you think they already have a road map of next three generations of Apple Watches. They will definitely slim off those bezels in future models like they did in Series 4 & further more with Series 7. And they definitely have those aces like blood glucose and blood pressure monitoring in their sleeves.

One Gripe: Why couldn’t they give dual speakers set up like Ultra? It would have been great for ‘AirPods Free’ leisure walks with light music flowing somewhere around the wrists. Although I do not own Ultra hence don’t know about music listening experience with those dual speakers.

Anyways S10 seems like a compelling upgrade for those with S5 or lower who are now & forever limited to watchOS 10.
