As much as I'd like to go, it's far too expensive. $1,599 ticket + airfare + hotel + meals + souvenirs is just too much on my budget, especially considering I'm not in a programming job. Besides, I have work then which I can't get off.

If I could go, I'd obviously like to see the keynote in person, plus get some pointers in programming. I know a few things here and there, so anything substantial I could pick up would do wonders. Didn't WWDC also have more general IT sessions like how to manage macOS Server a few years ago? If they did, and still did that, my boss might let me go.

You 100% aren't their target audience. You summed up why in 6 simple words, "I'm not in a programming job." WWDC isn't just a keynote. Its a keynote followed by 4 days of pretty deep sessions explaining how to use all the new features (and some old features). As much fun as it is to be there, it is way more a work trip then a vacation. I typically fly in on Saturday and use all day Sunday and Monday evening as my days to enjoy the city. Tuesday morning through Friday evening are about digesting the information. With the exception of the Bash on Thursday night, and maybe a drink or two with some other attendees at a hotel bar.

Paint it black.
Soon as I saw the picture all in white I felt like they could easily turn off the lights on it and the inverted colors would be all black and gray scale.

The way its set up, I could see it finally being across the board with the rumored everything works on everything coding. Guess I'll get myself ready to go once again.

If your developer, WWDC is a dream for them. All the hands-on experiences, tools and workshops are worth every cent during that week. It really is a privilege for any inspiring developers to attend WWDC.

I really hope to show us the sneak peek of the modular mac pro and the apple display
Maybe the apple display small bezels will be in tone with the upcoming redesign imac

I would love it if that invitation signaled that the flat fad might finally be on its way out and some sort of depth might be returning to Apple’s design language. But that graphic might also just indicate that AR will be a big focus this year. Apple is clearly devoting a lot of resources to this technology instead of following the crowd into VR. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a signal that AR will be the main focus of WWDC this year.

Doesn’t mean I can’t hope for an OS redesign though...:)

I wonder if there will be much hardware announced this year? Last year seemed packed with software and hardware one of my favourite WWDC’s ever.

My first gen 12.9 iPad Pro is still going strong!
Want to see if they come up with something that will make me MOVE! ;)

I might be just imagining it but some of those shapes appear like products and features. I see what looks like an AirPod case (wireless charging update??). There’s also a thin round disk with a line going through it. I’m not sure it this could represent an Apple Watch charger, or perhaps the hand of a clock, maybe indicating an Apple Watch announcement. Or maybe it’s a new round Apple Watch :) There’s definitely some iMessage speech bubbles, so more iMessage stuff that we’re all dying for. And then lots of 3D shapes that look like they are being scanned or turned/manipulated. So probably more AR stuff. Thoughts?

Cool. Three more months and Apple gets to announce iOS 12 with all the bug fixes for iOS 11....

This. How much one-on-one time did you have with any of the engineers? Apple always likes to announce they have "1,000 engineers on hand" to help people with questions on their projects. To me this seems like one of the best parts of WWDC (being able to discuss coding as it relates to something you're working on).

Emphasis on AR for sure. Right now it’s more of a neat trick than anything really useful but maybe it’ll be better now?
