Expect sadly nothing from iOS 12 but a few minor UI changes and tweaks. I guarantee ya.

My guess from the invitation is that they are going to incorporate system wide Workflow app features (which covers the modular theories) - with a heavy focus on AR

It's all but official now! Apple products will be frozen in time. Effective June 5, 2018 Apple Park will be known as Hollywood North. THAT'S why Apple is opening "factories" in the U.S.

Have they scrapped the annual March Special Event?

What’s the point in building the Steve Jobs Theatre if it’s only going to hold one event a year in Sept.

I'll be happy when a dark mode arrives so we can finally stop hearing people complain about it not being there, or being skeptical of its possible arrival.

It's become the new 'is safari snappier?' battle-cry.

It’s funny because nobody complained about nor even wanted a dark mode before iOS 7. All those textures and apps that looked different from each other (instead of having white everywhere like today), made it unnecessary. Now everyone’s practically begging for one. It’s one of the reasons why I dislike flat ‘minimilist’ design because such designers, especially those currently at Apple, think that it has to look like a white magazine with bold fonts and text rather than having buttons that are easy to distinguish from the rest of the UI and don’t require you to think about what is pressable or not.

Given macOS and all iOS requires 64bit now, the next release will clean up and be 64bit only. All 32bit stuff are gone, along with other low level changes.

Let's call it OS Eleven.

I'm guessing this means no March event.

Hopefully WWDC will be an event for developers... I still cringe when remembering the 2016 event which spent way too much time with emojis and that embarrassing music lady.

I always thought of the opening keynote as user-focused. Although I enjoy them, I'm more excited about the Platforms State of the Union, which are definitely dev-focused. And I'm sorry but I LOVED Bozoma. :D

Never been annual - they didn't have one last year.

This doesn't necessarily mean there won't be a March event, WWDC just needs to be announced relatively early so attendees can make plans - the whole event is far more than just the keynote. Not the case for events where just the press are invited.

Because the Steve Jobs Theatre isn’t big enough to house the amount of people that attend WWDC.

You vs the guy she tells you not to worry about

(but seriously, I hope this means a return to more physically weighty UI elements with shadows and depth, we got rid of a lot of good with the bad in the backlash against skeuomorphism).
