Agree with others. I'm surprised just how poor these launch titles are. As another guy said, I'd rather just drop some cash on one single quality game.

I know this is early access but to be honest, I was expecting better from Apple.

Also Arcade and Games is not confusing???

Games+ (like News+ & TV+) would have been a cohesive title, but I wonder if the tab might also cause confusion for kids shopping and browsing games in the app store. I think Arcade has a nice ring to it and more clearly separates the subscription service from the standard games section.

I wonder if the cross-platform saving and such will be available for people that just purchase the games outright instead of the subscription.

I just don't like subscriptions. I'd rather buy a $5 game once a month, skipping some months, buying two $5 games some months, than doing this subscription.

Hmmm.

The video is almost 18 minutes long. Yet we have people commenting on the game quality being lousy with time stamps minutes after the article was posted.

So.......did you even watch the video?
Maybe they watched the video on 9to5 like I did. The games Jeff played... underwhelming imo. Most looked to be developed for a much younger demographic like preteens. Worryingly, Jeff had to turn down the settings on the last game using a '19 MBP. He had to use an eGPU to play at higher settings. Understanding that the games are still in development, it's still not a good look. There's plenty of time for the effort to get better and get better games. But first look, unimpressive.

Based on the video, each game is $0.49 per month, rather than $4.99 unlimited subscription. Or did I read that wrong?

This is a strong start but if you want to achieve a perfect macrumors comment, you should also include something about how it will be a business failure, is symbolic of the decline of Apple, or would upset Steve Jobs.
Bonus points if you use the words beleaguered or doomed.

Someone's getting fired

Someone at Apple and possibly at MR who is pushing this rubbish. I feel like MR puts these videos out and w/out reservation says how amazing it is.

Watching that didn't make me feel impressed at all. Instead it was reminiscent of Apple News+. That too has lapsed the 1 month trial and been cancelled.

It would be nice to see reviews be a little more objectionable on here, but I gather the nature of the site is Pro Apple. But let's not blow things out of proportion shall we? They probably don't want Apple to not invite them to press releases, haha.

What's so amusing about many of these comments is that Apple's own Apple Arcade page that's been up for months has screenshots and clips from the more lavish 3D types of games. It should already be completely obvious that this six game selection isn't meant to be representative of the entire library.

I agree that it´s kinda disappointing if this is the main titles but maybe Apple will actually surprise us at launch:)
Anyway I believe Apple will get some money here. My kids are gonna love this for sure and I´ll rather pay for this service than get all kinds of freemium. I just wonder how gameplay will be on AppleTV. And I hope they'll translate kids games to other languages.

Skipped ahead because it's annoying and lackluster. If paint was drying I probably didn't miss much in the first 5 minutes either... LOL

Sorry but Apple has a really long road to get into video games they sure are late in the Game I mean Microsoft or Sony got into this on time. The same goes with Apple's iWork such as Numbers or Pages Microsoft's Office 365 is a winner for accounting business.

Not even sure Apple hardware is anymore streaming and streaming movies? Or more?

We were excited with Apple TV 4 and all the Games when it came out. I was expecting my grandkids would love it. Then there was the "in app purchase" that pretty much destroyed any enjoyment. We gave up and now my grandson (older one) moved on to XBOX and Nintendo. We will give this a try but if this is a failure then we will give up again.
