Yup. And so far, I support all of Apple's positions. And am thus a customer.

Similarly, I would hope that people who don't support Apple's positions would seek out other manufacturers. It does take courage to vote with your wallet. More likely, I suspect most will cave on their principles.

I interpret that as a swipe and calling me a coward--that's fine.

But really, what should a conservative do? Switch to Google? There's a group think amongst Silicone Valley--we don't like any of their positions.

I suppose I could "go out and make my own tech company," which is absurd on so many levels.

By the way, this is why you are seeing such a change in conservative thought when it comes to corporations and populism.

But I digress and will shut up before the mods hit me with a PSI ban hammer.

No. Not intended as a swipe directed at you. Please don't take it that way. My use of "your dollars" was meant generically.

It's about taking responsibility. If one doesn't like a company's principles/positions/actions/etc, and products, then don't reward them with your dollars.

I'm getting a strong ’Ping’ vibe off this. Streaming service because everybody has a streaming service. Like websites in the late 90s. Apple proving once again they don't know games. Who is this for? Let's look at the games. Well they can run on mobile and computer, so not graphically intensive. Multiplayer? Not much has been said on that so let's say token effort. A lot look story driven so casual market probably not.

1) pro gamers: they want benchmarking hardware melting games. Not apples ’Fisher price’ hardware and integrated intel graphics garbage, to play the same game running on an Apple TV.

2) Streamer: where is the switch streaming, the multiplayer match making, or the games that will make e-sports? Nowhere.

3) Casual gamers: they want to buy a free game or a $2 game that just uses your thumb. Not a yearly subscription to games they will never play.

4) indie gamer: Steam. Switch home brew, etc. They want to follow the development if games in beta, where every week there is new content. Not fire and forget titles. Because nothing says indie like the backing from a trillion dollar company.

So I can't think who this is for. It reminds my of buying an album, you just want one song but the rest are garbage. Apple solved that with iTunes. This seems like a step backwards.

Also these are going to be on all apple devices. So they're running on a MBP to an XR. If saves carry over automatically, that's a slam dunk in my book.

That's stupid in my book. Why the requirement to run on multiple devices? It ruins everything. I want a party game for up to 4-6 players to run on my Apple TV. And something just for myself on my phone. In addition, the controls should be optimal for the platform, not universal, but bad.

The service should offer lots of different games on each platform. If some of them really work well on multiple platforms that's a bonus. But honestly, I think this is very hard to achieve, and more often than not a game that would be good somewhere is transformed into a game that is bad everywhere.

Here for your regular reminder that the biggest barrier for developers is the economics of the App Store.

You can have all the desktop class performance you like but nobody is putting the effort into developing AAA games to have to sell them for < $4.99.

Because the whole thing about this is a unified experience. Your friend mightn't have an iPhone but you can still talk about it because they played it on a mac. That's why there's native support for XB1 and PS4 controllers on all devices now. But yeah, it'd be dope if there were some jackbox like games for the ATV.

You're passing harsh judgment REAL early on stuff that is both (a) still in private beta and (b) hasn't been tested by people who actually have a gaming critique background.

Kids and people who used to be gamers and now they are too old to care like me.

Wow there's some really myopic comments on here, people haven't even given it a chance and they are denouncing it. If it isn't up your alley then fine, but that doesn't negate it's value to other users.

Ouch, this preview is truly aimed at a rather specific target audience. Get a Switch and be done with it.

Finding people who want to carry around a switch in their pocket all the time is a rather specific target market as well. Sounds like a lot of extra hassle, and not that cheap either.
