Apple Arcade is just as worthless as Macs are for gaming.
Then why do so many more people play those games than AAA games that require 500W graphics cards?I think the point you’re missing is the vast majority are not interested in dinky mobile games from 2011.
Plays video games 45 minutes a day.For me, with games, it's not about the quantity, it's about the quality. I only get 30-45 minutes for games a day. I want that time spent on high quality games. AAA level.
Apple Arcade only has 1 game that comes close to that level. The rest is junk or recycled crap from 10 years ago.
Whoever is running this within Apple clearly is not a gamer.
Where did I say I was busy?Plays video games 45 minutes a day.
Thinks he's busy.
LOL.

Ooof. Remember in 2000 when Bungie was on the verge of bankruptcy and tried to sell themselves to Apple, and Steve Jobs turned them down because he assumed they would of course always just keep making awesome games for the Mac? And then a month later Microsoft bought them and they never made another Mac game?in all seriousness, a single Apple triple A studio, whether bought in or built up internally, would act as an amazing tent pole for the platform.
A stream of Apple exclusive games that compete with the best on PC or Xbox/PS4 would really fill a gap.
I would also want to add, that there is Creaks (by Amanita Studio), which is just amazing. There are actually some pretty decent games on there that are closer to console quality than mobile. Like Oceanhorn 2 and Square’s Various Daylife for example.
Not quite. I recently bought a wireless Xbox controller. Although it looks the same as the model before it, it turns out the recent, 4th edition of the Xbox controller, 'model 1914' is not compatible with iOS / tvOS etc. DESPITE the text on the box 'compatible with iOS'.If your controllers have bluetooth, they work on iOS14, iPadOS14…
AAA : Apple Arcade :: Pro : iPad
In your analogy, the developers get zero money from you. That would be infinitely less than a penny a download. Honestly, I had thought your first post was satire. Are you serious, or are you just refusing to break character?Where does it say I give developers a penny a download? I'm talking about buying 10 games at a yard sale for $5. That's 50 cents per game, 50 times the value you cited, and you don't download Hungry Hungry Hippos. You just put it in your car and drive it home.
Agree. I have the free year with verizon and after it is up there is nothing that makes me feel I need to continue the service. Same goes for AppleTV+.Congrats to them... Wish I could love this thing though. I'm running a trial which I'll cancel because it's not worth paying monthly for this. Most games are really childish (just my opinion..)
So far the only games I've played through the AppleTV+Controller that are console worthy, which makes it promising are Playdead's INSIDE & Rush Rally 3.
That's me. I 100% abandoned the App store. Simply don't care. last two apps DLed were Jitsi and Signal. And the only reason for that was because of a couple of friends with Android. If they were to do that, Adults who abandoned the App Store (of which there are many), might actually come back !
Whimsical, whiny, indie garbage festers in Apple Arcade. They need a clean out and to fire all the curators. Maybe that's happening, I gave up on it early on.Most games are really childish (just my opinion..)
Don't give them good ideas! We've just seen Nintendo come out with Mario Golf and it's very average. There was a chance for Apple to really go for gold by competing in the same space as Nintendo. Release a golf game that out Nintendos Camelot offering. But the other big issue is control. Until they have enough people using a controller, Apple arcade will never be anything big.in all seriousness, a single Apple triple A studio, whether bought in or built up internally, would act as an amazing tent pole for the platform.

You be the judge of whether my life experience is satire, I am just saying there is tremendous value to be found at yard sales. I have also explored digital arcade pricing models in another comment but I should clarify that I'm not at all qualified to pay developersIn your analogy, the developers get zero money from you. This isn't the whole story. PC gamers at minimum must use one other product: a PC. I know that this statement is true because it's a tautology. QEDPC gamers use one product and thats the iphone.
Have never seen the allure of Apple Arcade. If I wanted to game, I’d buy a PlayStation instead of playing these lame games on Arcade, lol.
With the launch of three new games this morning, Apple's $4.99 per month Apple Arcade service now offers more than 200 games for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users to play.

The milestone was first highlighted by CNET, and it comes alongside the launch of Super Leap Day, Super Stickman Golf 3+, and Monster Hunter Stories+, all of which can be downloaded and played starting today.
Apple Arcade first launched in September 2019, so it has taken just under two years for Apple to provide customers with 200 titles to choose from.
With Apple Arcade, all of the games are free and there are no in-app purchase options or ads. The service is priced at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year, and with that subscription price, all members of the family can access games. Apple also offers a one-month free trial for anyone, a three-month free trial for those who purchase an Apple device, and there are also often promotions for longer trial periods.
Apple has been working with both indie developers and big name gaming companies on Apple Arcade titles since it launched, and in April of this year, Apple began re-releasing classic titles like Fruit Ninja, Monument Valley, Mini Metro, Threes, and more.
Apple Arcade titles can be played on iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs, and many games are designed to support controllers, with support available for PlayStation and Xbox controllers. The service is available in more than 150 countries.
New titles are added to Apple Arcade on a regular basis, and in the near future, the service will be gaining "MasterChef: Let's Cook," "Layton's Mystery Journey+," "Asphalt Airborne 8+," "Baldo The Guardian Owls," "Tetris Beat," and "Wurdweb."

actually not that impressive...after almost 2 years launch. They need bigger AAA titles.
My wish list:
-GeoDefense
-Flight Control
-Train of Thought (from Lumosity)
Just these three would be worth the cost.
Stadia is doing this today. Play games that destroy high-end PC gaming systems via their cloud streaming. Just need an iPad or a TV and a controller. The switch requires a graphics card? My consoles too?
You’re just tryin to stretch a poor argument.
THE FUTURE OF GAMING IS IN THE CLOUD.
Players one day will be able to play a full fledge console quality game and then continue the exact game on the go. Like a switch but with their device of choice and game of choice.
Apple Arcade is for kids to get their gaming feet wet.
