Apps/games are only allowed to be 200MB max. Anything over that they must download every time the app is run and there are limits on how much they can download also. Because of this, it's not likely you'll see games much over the 200MB maximum.

Unless Apple back tracks and changes it's mind.

Have there been any reviews of this device yet? Seems a bit weird that it went on sale before any reviews came out. Kind of makes me wonder how many apps are going to be available at launch.

I am debating on getting one. I have a PS4 and a smart TV. I just don't know if ATV is over kill or not? I understand the Siri factor is a great plus for a get me there fast option. But am I paying pretty much $150 or $199 just for Siri and for it to work with my 6s+ and iPad Air2?

My friend received a dev unit a month ago. His advice to me or anyone who owns an Atv3 right now it's not worth the upgrade. Nothing too impressive as far as a usage standpoint goes, remote is cool but $150 for a remote upgrade isn't worth it. Of course this is for now. Later Down the line hopefully it gets better.

I just got Roku players, this past year and have 2 Atv 3s. Roku with Plex is way better IMO.Beautiful interface and Plex > iTunes for ripped material. Also it has SlingTV and better looking Netflix menus. Great experience and the stick version can be gotten for free these days.

Ordered a 32gb version even though I'm quite happy with my Amazon Fire TV Sticks and Roku devices. I also have a 2nd Gen Apple TV but don't use it except really to stream Apple Events since it never had an Amazon Prime app. It is quite pricey at $161.67 (including tax) vs. my Fire Sticks and Roku sticks that I got for less then $40 each.

But I'm an Apple geek and have some "fun" money since I decided not to upgrade my iPhone 6 to a iPhone 6s! ;)

I went with 32GB as I'm going to use it mainly for TV programmes. I'm going to see if I can move away from linear to altogether!

Plus in a year or so Apple may release a 4K version.

Lots of people have Fire TVs, Nexus, ChromeCast & existing Apple TVs. And when you speak of gaming.. people have Xboxs & Playstations to satisfy their gaming needs.

I wanna get more information before taking the plunge. I already have a ChromeCast, Apple TV3 & Nexus Player. Most wanted app I want on the Apple TV is the Plex app, I know that's quite awhile away.

I have 3x appleTV's (all 3rd gen), 1x xbox, 1x wii ... and soon I will own a fourth appleTV, which will replace the appleTV on the big TV in the living room and the old appleTV will move to the last TV in a bedroom that didn't have an appleTV yet.

Heck, even if all TV's already had an appleTV I would replace one of them with the new appleTV (and I still might soon replace the one in the kids game room with the new one).

I am an Apple fanboy but I have reached a point I never thought I would in regards to Apple products. I will wait and see if it is actually a finished product or not before picking one up. I have an Apple TV 2 and 3 that are used daily and they work fine.

Of course anyone with a dev unit will say that, there are no apps on it. Not even the ones that come stock with the previous aTV (Netflix, HBO, etc). It's just a bare OS for you to test your apps on. The App Store is what's going to make the new model worth the purchase.

Undecided ... 32 or 64.... and wierd to have Applecare for Appletv.... i mean apart from apps will i be able to save movie on the memory? if so a 128 option would have been smarter...if it is for apps / games only i might go 32.

my two cents
- save the money for apple care
- spent the money instead on the 64GB model (might be overkill, better safe than sorry)

uhm why does it say 179 Euro

and at the button below: starting at 229 Euro

They have that same bug on the US store side ... they are showing the 64gig price instead of the 32.

Until there are any compelling apps or they manage to bring their new way of watching TV to the UK (which I doubt), I can't see me getting this. Having bought a new Smart TV which gives me Netflix in HD and Ultra HD (other than for music, the only reason I used the Apple TV really) as well as Freeview Play. Not sure if there's a new Netflix app on this model but my TV's app is more user friendly than the ATV2 version I used.

I want the new Apple TV now, but after adding it to my cart on Apple's website, I saw that $14 was added in tax. I checked B&H Photo and they anticipate receiving stock of the new Apple TV on Nov 10th. Standard B&H free shipping for me is next-day delivery. Assuming that B&H does in-fact receive stock on Nov 10th, I only have to wait an additional week to get a 7% discount on the new Apple TV.

As much as I want one now, I can wait an extra week!

is it possible that this unit could be updated to 4K UHD via firmware update at some point in future?

I believe an analysis of hardware suggested that it couldn't handle 4K, but I wonder how final such a determination is... in other words, is there a chance?

They won't. Amazon wants to move people to its platform, not away from it. This is also why they've stopped selling the Apple TV and Chromecast on their website.
Yeah I kind of had that feeling. Still though, you'd think from a business perspective you would want as many ways to view your content as possible. Having Amazon prime available on Xbox, PS4, Fire TV, TV's, Apple TV is just more ways for people to buy content. I guess by the same token, we will never say an iTunes app on FireTV...

Crap - store pickup is not available as an option. Looks like I have to wait (because I live right near a store in NH that doesn't charge sales tax and I'm cheap).

Appleare is not even a question in this case, of course NOT!! just pointing out it seems wierd that now it is offered ...

At the end went for the 32, with a dload limit of 200 megs per app... it is useless to have a 64 GB version (for me)

I wondered the same thing about 4K. I don't have a 4K TV yet but I have to wonder if Apple was really stupid enough not make hardware capable of it. I have 4 year old video cards in my PC capable of 4K so I wouldn't think that the hardware would be incapable of 4K.
