We won't see a refresh for like two more years.

This seems very likely - for sure they won't refresh next April - when they do, it will be refreshed along with their the fall line up for the holidays.

If you buy now, you will be definitely safe with IOS9, 10 and 11.

Dumbphone users also criticized the iPhone and other smartphones for having one day's worth of battery life back in 2007 and didn't want to think about charging the device for a whole week. They got over it.
See that's the very problem.

You're adjusting yourself to the device. Fundamentally, the device should adjust to you.
It's rather inconvenient limiting yourself with all the available features just to save battery life...
The device is designed to be subtle and not be intrusive, yet you'll always have to worry about it.

It's disappointing that the term "smart" to any device lowers expectations in the battery department...

I don't worry about it. I plug it in along with the iPhone as I've been doing for the last several years.

Haters still running with the bad battery myth? I take it off the charger around 6am and put it back at 11pm with 40-60%. I've been out till 5am with it and still would have 25-30% left

You would have to purposely try to drain the battery to get it to be dead by the evening in a single day

This device will need to get a damn good battery. Hopefully I'll buy into this gimmick device when the 2nd generation is released.

The battery is very good.

If you use the HR sensor while exercising, it will kill it. I dont use it as I have a dedicated and much better activity tracker on my other wrist, so the battery is excellent. You would charge it everytime you charge your phone (iphone 6 plus), though I can get 2 days out of my watch.

i fail to see why one day of battery is bad

with os2 you can use the watch as a night clock as you charge. seems perfect to me

Then you may want to leave this site and try here: https://getpebble.com :p
Nothing wrong with a Pebble, mine is great for the job that I do.
Don't miss any notifications because of it and another advantage is now the iPhone is permanently silenced, it also controls my music perfectly whilst I'm working or driving.

Also not everyone works in a cushty office and the Pebble fits in perfect with the job that I do, I'd rather shove my wrist with a £99 Pebble down a nasty dirty wet water meter chamber rather than a £350 Apple watch as I'm not made of money.

At the end of the day first and foremost its a WATCH so having an always on easy to read at a glance in the bright sunshine screen is kinda nice.

The other way to get one would be to buy one of the squillions available on eBay at a fraction of the cost.

This. Mine's about to go on the charger with 56% still remaining, and I took it off charge at 7am.

I don't care how much someone likes Apple, this price is just ****ing ridiculous. Anyone who buys a band for THIS much is a ****ing idiot. There is no way around that.

Finally ordered the pink modern buckle, the classic black strap I currently have has held up very well and the leather still looks as good as new.

It's not a problem at all. I don't limit any features. I work out every morning and take my dog on long walks, use my Watch with Siri as an assistant to my schedule, for random questions and controlling my music and smart home. I never ever run out of battery. I take the Watch off when I go to sleep and it charges without thinking about it.

The only people who I see complaining about the Watch's battery life are people who don't even own one.

What an utterly silly comment! You do realised the value of money is entirely relative don't you? Relatively, the amount some people are spending on these bands is no more than what some people would happily spend on a coffee, which is in itself what some people in the world would live on for a day. The value the band brings is also relative, if you enjoy it, it may well be worth it to you.

A lot of my mates like cars and will happily spend tens of thousands on them. I don't like cars and drive a wreck (a safe one), but I do like Apple products and strippers. Neither of us are wrong, just different.

If you have the free income, spend it on whatever you want. No one can tell you its stupid.
