Everyone who has a iPhone 6 plus preorder please cancel so i get moved up the que!

My ship date is the end of October so anyone worried please cancel now so i can move up the que and maybe i can get one at the beginning of October, and i bet that mine will not bend under normal use of the product.

So cancel your order so i can get my a few weeks earlier and you will go to the back of the line and be mad at Apple because you you have to wait a couple of months to get one now.

The number is relatively meaningless unless we KNOW those 50 were bent "just by being in the users' pockets".....

I'll snap a Note in half....everything breaks. If you're going to pay $1000 for a piece of technology, at least have the decency to adjust your use.

Heck, a simple case takes care of this issue. I personally have a black leather Apple case on my white/gold 6+. Looks nice and no bend.

I was guessing mate, but you know as well as I do their will be more then 9, but as I said even if a magic number of 50 existed, it's still a non existent number for the amount they have sold.

I would advise anyone with a 6 plus to put a case on it, as you have, it is too big to risk it really.

There's no experiment or survey being made here. Nobody is being chosen. It's just few reports on the internet and people overgeneralizing from those few reports.
There is an experiment going on, its just an incredibly ****** one. The hypothesis is that the iPhone 6 Plus breaks more easily than any other phone. The methodology is to put up a bunch of posts about it on MR and see if anyone has had an iPhone 6 Plus that broke, or another phone that did not break. This being a terrible experiment we won't even bother to count up each group, we just decide from overall impression. The results are predictable... but will no doubt be presented as fact. MR is functioning at the kindergarten science level. But hey, it fills the time until people start making cardboard iPhone 7 cutouts!

This is great!

Hmmm..... Apple really needs to do an investigation about this.

I think the publicity is more than enough to let people know that they should not put their big thin cell phones in their back pockets and sit on them. Anyone that does that deserves to have a broken phone. Apple shouldn't be held responsible for the stupidity of a few of their customers.

Look, you want to be a condescending jerk about this? Go right ahead. You're joining the pool of people who give Apple fans a bad name because they refuse to believe that the company ever screws up.

No, not at all, I thought you said you had seen a bunch of bent iPhones IRL.

To be fair, Apple fanboys are just as bad

I'm not going to dispute your claim. However, I will state that I have never seen Apple users troll Samsung users the way Samsung users troll and criticize Apple users. I think the negative ads put out by Samsung is helping motive this negativity towards Apple users. I don't recall seeing an Apple ad that is highly critical of Samsung products as well as their users.

To quote an old professor of mine, "The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data.'"

Basically you guys with bent phones purely user error. I told you no one puts their large phone in their pocket and then complains it gets damage. Ridiculous.

Apple is so right to respond this way because their product isn't at fault! Tons of people want some kind of freebie. Get lost!

I put my note 3 which is larger than the 6+ in my pocket every day of the week. I've worn all sorts of pants including tighter ones. My phone has no damage.

They also feature stainless steel and titanium inserts to reinforce high stress locations

How come iFixit didn't spot these inserts when they dismounted the phone? I would think they would be pretty obvious. Or maybe Apple is pushing a silent update to the phone, like they did in the past with some issues and the new iPhone 6+ will indeed have these inserts...

If only nine customers complained, then why is the story and images "spreading like wildfire"?

If you look though the posts on this forum you will see just a few people who claim that their phones were bent. You can bet that that media outlets and Samsung and the rest are just waiting and drooling for any negative reports. Once they see one, they run with it and the next thing you know it's on CNN and the rest. That's just the way things work in this crazy tech world.

I think they meant the other metals are somehow mixed in with the aluminium so you don't see actual strengthening bars. Still not as strong as it could be, but at least we know it's not plain old aluminium!

The "Internet" is no excuse to treat people poorly. The are plenty of places online where anonymity does not automatically equate to a total lack of civilized discussion.

Have you read any of my prior posts in this thread? I'm doing quite the opposite of trash talking. Design and manufacturing issues happen with any product and any company out there. I don't have a local Apple store, so I'm mostly here to inform myself before I take a drive to the nearest one--though everyone around here appears to be more interested in Internet fights than they are genuine discussion.

I've read every post in this thread. You are saying that there's a serious flaw with a product from Apple, but offer no evidence whatsoever that this is the case. That is trash talk.

Post a picture and shut everyone up. Go to Apple with your bent phone and make them acknowledge the problem and rectify it. If you can't do those things then there is no problem, and nobody here has any reason to believe a word you say with your brand new account. This isn't paranoia, Samsung has been caught redhanded paying people to trash their competitors on websites in the past, and there's a lot of new accounts trashing Apple here over something with no evidence it's a widespread problem.

You're so upset that people are treating you "poorly" by demanding evidence for your unlikely claims, but whose fault is that really? All that will go away if you offer a sliver of proof. It's in your best interests to provide that proof if you truly wish Apple to fix this alleged problem, and it would stop people from accusing you of being yet another plant by one of Apple's competitors trying to turn this into a bigger story than it deserves.

Something's amiss.

Reality Check... This is post 350 ish in this thread...

Out of 350 there is NOT one post with an actual picture of a bent iPhone 6+ ... The same is true with other threads on other forums yet you have tons of people "claiming" they know of them or they have one...

REALLY??? !!!!!!

I swear to god if someone starts another '#gate' trend thinking they're clever... Though I feel Anand Shimpi is to blame as he proclaimed he started it with coining AntennaGate.

LOL. People saying its a Samsung campaign, or media backlash or its not Apple fault.

I live in a sparsely populated rural area and I know two people with bent phones. This is not hype.

Are you that far gone to not see the issues.

The biggest issue is they are now not "cool". Too many sales, reduction in quality. Damage the image and you damage the sales. It will take a while, but this will be severely damaging, certainly more so outside of the U.S.

They have rested on their laurels, focused on margin rather than development and the Iphone 6 is the result. Yesterdays specs, clone looks and buggy software.

If you hype the product and don't deliver, people get pissed off.

They are going to have to eat margin and pull something out of the bag for the 6s.

Post pictures of the phones.

Users experiencing #bendgate are those that partake in the activity that is #ExtremeSitting. LOL :D
