GekiRed said:See heres the thing...if you noticed you talked about what "you" have or what "you" want and dont want. Everyone is different and want different things for their device. Does it look like the iphone 4s is a great device? Sure. Is it worth an upgrade? For me, nope. My problem is I get very bored quickly and like to always get something new. And that's where I am. I'm bored of the iphone. Cant blame the phone I would be bored of any phone I have had more then a year. That's just me.
I'm sure a lot of people will purchase the new iphone if that's what they want and then they should.
Explain this, why if someone says they wanted more so are going to try Android...why do some of you act like your being personally insulted? If someone wants to go to Android, let em. Iphone is not the only phone out there. And if this is it for the iphone for another year, there will be many more options from other markets to look at until then. I know some of you feel the iphone is the best but others may not agree. And that argument with its the number one selling phone blah blah blah doesn't cut it.
I may be switching over to Android so I can see whats on the other side. Sure there are trade offs...would be the same going from Android to iphone.
You make a lot of very valid points there similar to what I have said with previous posts in this thread, unfortunately a lot of people here aren't willing to accept that people are willing to move over to Android because the new iPhone isn't the revolutionary improvement that people were expecting.
I know I definitely won't ever buy one because it doesn't wow me unlike my previous phones which were Windows Mobile ones (I hate Windows Phone as it doesn't 'wow' me unlike Windows Mobile did) and yet with Android, I've seen the light when it comes to smartphones. I can do whatever I want to do with it (within reason). I can watch anime fansubs and live-action movies/tv shows without converting them, I can get apps which in some cases can outdo what's available in the App Store, I can even get games that you usually pay for on iOS for free such as Zenonia 3. I can do a lot of things with it that I don't have to jump through bloody hoops to do or jailbreak Apple's phone for.
At least for the most part, the phones that use Android are revolutionary unlike Apple's latest which hasn't evolved much since the last one came out.
I know my views may be seen by some as controversial, but at least they're MY views and if people don't like them and choose to be insulting to me because they knew my views were valid ones and they were wrong, so be it!

Apple blew it, indeed.![]()

The entire android environment is in trouble.
All I can say is that when I blow it, I hope I blow it like Apple did. I could use a few extra billion dollars in my bank account....
Couldn't be farther from the truth. Even as awesome as the iPhone 4 was when launched, and the records it's shattered as far as sales, Android marketshare was unphased and continued to grow at a nice pace. The 4S is definitely not going to change that trend, at all. Galaxy SII sales are incredible and Samsung is actually on pace to overtake Apple as the worlds #1 smartphone vendor soon. As a matter of fact the iPhone 4S will hurt RIM more than anyone.
There is more than enough room for both Android and iOS to exist. I don't see that changing anytime in the near future.
Thank you for the sanity. Android will do fine. Many people like it a lot. iOS will do very fine. Two OS's and two good products. I prefer iOS and the ecosystem but Android will do fine. this doesn't have to be flame war.
Exactly. People act like there is only room for one platform, or that having a nice alternative is a bad thing. I love Apple but hoping for the competition to fail is just ignorant thinking. It benefits nobody and really only serves to make the lone remaining choice complacent and reluctant to make any changes or improvements.
Some of us just act like it's a Mac forum. And we're here to talk about Apple products. And sometimes we get tired of being called "fanboys"![]()

I am pretty sure you don't know what the word revolutionary means. It is also clear that more android users are moving to iOS w the 4s right now than will shift because of the nexus prime and the like.
The entire android environment is in trouble.
+1. Android is "revolutionary" when all they add is the latest nerdgasm-inducing hardware and a bigger screen with each update. Apple may not have lept over the competition hardware wise but they positioned themselves very aggressively because of the updated hardware and more importantly the OS and user experience, which is worlds above android's. .
Works for me.Read that again and then decide if it made any sense or not.

Ok, I'm new. And I'm sure I wil learn a lot following these threads, but this is the dumbest ****ing troll topic I've yet seen.
Poor Apple and all the sellouts and her 75 billion treasure trove. Yeah, they blew it.
Works for me.
1) Seeing as the makers of the phones have NOTHING to do with the software, that first point makes no sense. It's like blaming Acer for Windows 7.
2) How did they position themselves aggressively because of the updated hardware? They're catching up to the competition.
You have to understand that they only release 1 phone a year. 1. That means they HAVE to come big. Have to. We are going to have quad core Android phones next year, with the first being released this year, overseas.
It's easy to say they're doing great now, but by next spring or at CES next year, you'll be talking about the hardware in face of people talking about quad core phones with 1.5/2 gigs of RAM and 8mp cameras as well. With larger displays. [Don't throw the retina display card out instantly; USE the phone for yourself and see what is better. It's one thing to state "omg retina crisp" without even looking at the Super Amoled + display, which is amazing.
And there are Android phones out now with faster processors and whatever megapixels then the iPhone 4 and yet it still manages to be a better phone. The 4S will do more than just tide Apple over for the next generation.
And there are Android phones out now with faster processors and whatever megapixels then the iPhone 4 and yet it still manages to be a better phone...
How so? Keep in mind that it's entirely your opinion, and, because of this, our arguments are only as strong as the opinions we form about them.
But that point does not address what I was saying before: that you have to look towards the future; don't just look at what's in front of you.
At the end of the day, Apple has one phone vs a ton of android phones, yet Android has to fight stay on top in market share. If that's not enough to know which phone is the beast, I dont know what to tell u.
You speak of looking towards the future. I'm no psychic, but my guess is that eventually Apple will decide to have more than just one phone with updated features in the game at one time and when they do, things can only get stickier for the competition.
What's crazy to me is the fact that the 3G and 3GS sold better than many of the androids put together. The are iPhones with what most consider outdated specs. That says a lot about the OS, ecosystem, and the trust people have in Apple the company. No other company can say this.
It's not just a cool factor that's loosing Apple to dominate. It's more to it.
