So much for the conspiracy theories that Apple was holding back!
That's true, the also have information about the Roswell crash (1947) - we are doom!

Well, first of all, it's like $650. For a phone. It's just subsidized.
But it feels like a luxury item, does it not? Apple markets it that way, customers treat it like one. A luxury item is anything that a person does not need.
Is there anyone out there that needs an iPhone? Of course not. People buy one because they want it, because it gives them a level of convenience they wouldn't otherwise have, and it's used in many cases as a symbol of status or wealth. This isn't some cheap generic phone, it's an iPhone.
The fact that, yes, people can have one for $200, which isn't too bad in the struggling economy, makes it a luxury item that somebody is fairly happy to buy, in a time when maybe they're holding off on getting a new car, or going out to fancy restaurants, or buying popcorn when they go to the movies. That was my point about luxuries in a recession.
The internet speed is ten times as fast as the last version.
The CPU is twice as fast.
The GPU is twice as fast.
The screen's color representation is significantly better.
The camera is better on multiple fronts -- very slick panorama, shutter speed, sapphire cover, better lens system.
The whole darn thing is way less prone to breaking due to the new construction.
The Lightning port, I think, is going to evolve into something quite useful, and it appears to be way better functionally than the 10-year-old Dock Connector.
The speaker and microphone system looks to be much better.
It's thinner. It's lighter.
It has a larger screen.
Based on all of the above, I'm pretty sure in addition to looking SEXY AS HECK, it's going to be a very, very big improvement in terms of overall functionality.
Yes! You carry that phone tablet around! You carry it! Carry it proud! Look cool! bahahaha
This. If people didn't like big screens, the iPad wouldn't be selling so well. The iPad is basically a giant iPhone. If Apple made the iPhone 5 with that size screen you would love it, so just stop.
If Apple does it, it's ok...anyone else does it, it's unnecessary.
Haha good one!!! But I'm sick at home and looking up information on the iMac cuz I NEEED to have one for my job. So it's not quite like that sorry...
If Steve Jobs was still around, he would have not allowed this.Apple is doomed.
Still no notification light on the front
Some one help me with this. I visit this site and its forums periodically because I am generally an Apple supporter. I have never, and probably never will, be wasting my time reading and posting on Android sites. If I decide to switch to the Android system then I will switch. So anyway the question is.
WTF are Android die-hards doing wasting their time posting/reading on MacRumors Forums? I mean I just dont get it? Just trolls that have nothing better to do in their lives but rant and yell at Mac users I guess. Just what I would expect tbh to be bred by the Android ecosystem.
With Tim Cook in charge of Apple, the term 'blown away' acquires a lot of extra meanings.
Ummm Apple is more than just the iPhone........
Even if it's true that "everyone" would buy Ipoop, if Apple made it, I can tell you that I'm not "everyone". You and I are the exceptional ones, and to be honest I have my doubts about you.
I buy Apple products because Apple doesn't make "Ipoop".
As for the "Lightning charger", you really haven't thought this through.
According to the Apple Store, here's whats in the box.
- iPhone 5
- Apple EarPods with Remote and Mic
- Lightning to USB Cable
- USB Power Adapter
- Documentation
No one really has to buy a "Lightning charger", because everything you need to charge the iPhone is included with it. That's good, because many of the adapters are already back-ordered or won't be available for a month or so. And the high sales volume of the iPhone 5 pretty much ensures that the market will soon be flooded with less expensive cables and adapters.
It's a frigging PHONE, not your firstborn

Just from personal experience it seems like there are less people on the S upgrade cycle. Anyone have any numbers to verify?Code:
I could see them selling 50 million by the end of the year. That'd be incredible.
You nailed it right there, I think you actually starting to get it. YES Apple makes it so it is "Magical".
Just like the Android guys think HTC/Samsung are "Magical" too.. I guess we have to love what you love or we are all iSheep. Go and see if your android devices have light leakage, covers that squeak, batteries that last 4 hours, batteries that over heat all things that a kernel chief can't fix. Sit back and wait to see if you get JB maybe/maybe not. Maybe you can get one of these 16 year old kids who instead of going out hunting for girls and drinking beers is sitting at home compiling Google source because the manufactures wont.
You know why android is so popular? Because its FREE. People are CHEAP. More money in the manufactures pocket because they don't have to pay for the OS.
However, Apple's marketing CERTAINLY has a way of making us think of it as a luxury good.![]()
Yes, but his point still stands, because there are other boards that iPhone hating Mac lovers can use.

Good. I hate looking at that thing on my work Blackberry 9860.
WTF? That's ridiculous. As far as this argument goes, the iPhone surely is not a luxury phone. If you want luxury, you need a Vertu (yes, I know they are big POS, but they are expensive POS and come with a concierge service) :
http://www.vertu.com/
We're talking 10k$+ phones here. The iPhone doesn't come close to qualifying.

What iPhone haters are you people even talking about ? Look folks, you might own an iPhone and like it overall but still find faults with some aspects of it. You might not like the direction the line-up is taking, while still owning your perfectly fine older model...
Plenty of reasons to voice negative opinions other than being "A fandroid bred by the Android ecosystem". That is just daft. Owning an iPhone doesn't suddenly remove your brain and cognitive function and turn you into an Apple positive spin spouting machine.
