Well there really hasn't been any innovation sense iPhone 4s. Don't even say iOS 7's redesign is innovation, its a fresh coat of paint at most.
Don't forget the other Android like enhancements.

Darn you Macrumors? I predicted that Tim would be tossed out in 2015. I might have to push it up to 2014
Anyone as annoyed as I am they have been VERY slow about increasing the iPhone size? (not counting the 3.5 to 4 inch change)
Can someone remind me what Steve Jobs pace of innovation was? Was the board concerned when Apple went 6 years between iPhone and iPod? And another 3 before the iPad?
I completely agree with that but...
So? Hardly innovative, a much needed UI refresh and a fix for the bodged multi-display support in OS X.
Meh, we get CPU updates all the time, not really innovative or 'fresh'
This one I am happy about. I have no use for one anymore but am very excited to see the new design launch.
Still dont see this being a 'WOW' as its not going to be anywhere near as good as we'd all like - you cant get networks all over the globe to sign up to it, it wont happen. The Xbox One 'middle man' solution is about as good as its going to get.
Yay......Exciting....
Sadly no compelling new products (that we know of) are in the pipeline. Nothing that will have a huge impact like the iPhone and iPad did.
Do they have innovative stuff in the pipeline?
It would be nice if people questioned stuff more (whether its positive or negative). First thing I thought of when I read this is, who is this guy and what is his (or Fox Business) track record when it comes to reporting on Apple or tech in general? But instead of questioning sources these days websites trip over each other to be the first to report something that will generate page views. Sigh.
We are all concerned. Stockholders, employees, and customers.
But I'm assuming the Board of Directors know what they have up their sleeve. So if they're worried, then it's probably bad...
We just need to accept that the ideas are running low at the moment.
My main problem with Apple is the ridiculous year after year after year wait I've had on a bigger iPhone screen while seeing the tide completely shift against them; I've had every iPhone and have been waiting FOREVER... all my co-workers, friends, family who have Android OS powered devices with big screens wave them in my face and ridicule Apple.
Release a bigger ------ screen... its not that ------ hard. (of course I know theres more to it, building phones at a massive scale is complex)
They are getting absolutely trashed out there in the real world because of this.
The other thing they needed is to innovate iOS and they are FINALLY doing so.
(I also love how there's absolutely NO criticism at Google, despite them not doing ANYTHING for the past ten years except copy and sell your information.)

I think this is a good way to look at it. I don't think you just sit down and pull a rabbit out of a hat every few months.
Cook is a disaster waiting to happen.
He should have stayed as COO and that's it; his intellectual bandwidth is great for supply-chain optimization and NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING else.
That is why Apple is losing share on all fronts now - his vision is as foggy as a bad day in the Alps.
Google, e.g., Google Glass; Microsoft, e.g. Surface Pro; and Samsung and Nokia insofar as they were first to introduce features that haven't been seen on other smartphones, eg NFC, IR Blaster, 41 MP Camera, f1.8 camera.
Well, SJ did - he invented and reinvented four or five different markets in less than 10 years...Cook? Zilt.
