Well goes to show, people will buy just about anything... Can't wait to see a gold iPhone with ios7 and one of those crystal cases! The dumbing down of apple by iOS continues

Apple should have told customers Gold online only... cause I waited just to hear no gold iphone. now i have to wait till october. I could have ordered at midnight and got it sooner :(

What Girl, Woman, Grandmother doesn't like Gold? This is no surprise!

...

Amazing that samedung and other did not 'see' this coming!

Watch for future 'innovation' in color from the me-too samedung wanabees.

Also, I wonder if those other phone-mee-too-look-at-mee-also will make fun of customers preference for gold phones...

Why the gruff? Why the insult? Why criticize people's preference of colors on a device you're not purchasing for them?

I miss the times when MacRumors headlines still had question marks to separate the rumors from the actual facts.

They still do that. Many people suffer from short term memory loss, though.

Please don't try to convince me that this hasn't changed. Back in the days, there were question marks behind uncertain rumors like there should be and no question marks behind facts like "Apple released XY today". This was good and didn't take away any "page hit attention" (at least for me) for which this was changed I am afraid... Nowadays, you maybe get a question mark behind the headline of a real wild, sketchy rumor which otherwise would be ridiculous to post anyway. (And before you exhume one or two exceptions: They prove the rule.) In fact, I sometimes read a headline now and it sounds so convincingly written like a fact news on first sight that only after reading the whole thing I have to discover that there is NOTHING backing it up. But as mentioned, I guess that's the effect MacRumors is going after. I liked this better a few years ago.

99% of the people here just can't seem to admit they were wrong about the gold colored iphone. and they keep shoving their opinions down others throats.

one month ago:
gold colored iphone is ugly, not going to sell

now that it sells well:
gold colored iphone is for grandma's and their daughters
or everything apple does will sell

as long as your own opinion is justified by your own stupid logic

grow up

the gold colored iphone is very nicely done, get over it.

Did Apple really not think gold would be popular? It's a new color in the lineup. Even if some people aren't crazy for gold they'll buy it because its different, more different than gray.

According to a salesman at Regent St (London), they got the same number of 5S on every color but being about the 100th on the queue (seeing the champagne going out of stock way before my turn), I would say they didn't got any more than 100 units of the champagne.
The silver went out of stock a little bit past me.

Still think that gold is ****. Wannabe's writen all over it.

I wouldn't go that far. Kind of harsh. There are a lot of kids here who are virgins to business ops like supply chain management. All they know is Internet memes and myths. But, you are are right. They post that kind of garbage and they do make themselves appear unintelligent.

I admire your restraint and how you rephrased his point. Very tactful.

My order started out at 1-3 days also. I "speed clicked" through, hit submit and... same thing, receipt says 7-10 Business Days.

GSM Gold 64GB model must have sold out in less than 5 minutes.

People, it said ships in 1-3 days! Not delivered. From midnight on that's what it said. I read it more closely than a few of you.

mine won't be here till 10/8-10/11...I am not sure how I am going to live. I should prolly just curl up in a ball in isolation until it gets here.

I'll be one of many to say this but I am quite surprised gold is in as high of demand as it appears. Unless it's false demand because supply was short in the first place. I definitely don't look at MR as a reliable sample of the general population, but this site alone appeared to turn a nose up at the idea of a gold iPhone and that is the basis of most of my surprise.

The three steps to success:

1. Have a look at what the MacRumors forum members think is best for Apple.

2. Do the exact opposite.

3. WIN!

Established since 2001 with the original iPod.

They been pushing the white front phones for how long now? Then to limit those 2 colors makes no sense. I don't get how they came up with the gray being the most popular

Haha this made me laugh. Remember when the rumor was the screen size was going to increase? They were all upset saying "no! 3.5 is the perfect size any bigger wont work!" The masses go with whatever group says, nothing new.
