Was denied with a 694 Transunion score. The reason: recently past due. Yeah, back in 2014! Been current with everything over the last few years. Paid off a car -- no late payments; paid off a $45k loan - no past due payments. When I called GoldmanSachs, they told me to call Transunion for details as to why. It wasn't Transunion's decision - it was GoldmanSachs' decision. They give it to someone with a lower score than me which is stupid.
Yes, for everything I buy that is non-Apple Pay I will just use my chase card that gets 1.5% on everything. I've never used a card with points so I don't have a good feel for how those work. Clearly working well in your situation lolWith my AMEX, I get triple points on a category of product, so for me, I choose TECHNOLOGY and get 3x points on purchases from major companies like Dell, Apple, Newegg, etc. Since I buy a lot of hardware throughout the year I accumlulate points rapidly. I also get free extended warranties on everything I buy. Plus excellent customer service if I need it.
The points paid for 3 RT flights to Hawaii this year, and a rental car.
Also, isn't 2% just on ApplePay purchases and 1% on everything else?
My credit score is 830. I got the 12.99% rate and a $10K limit.
I'd like to thank all those people on Twitter that are posting pictures of their new CC with their actual names. While it doesn't show the CC number, it does show that it is a mastercard and their name. It's just asking for fraud and identity theft. What idiots.
Pick any adult's name in the US. They have a Visa or Mastercard. 80% chance it's a Visa.
Well, I know now that you have a mastercard through goldman sachs and your name is 'nilay patel' (not you really but the first twitter picture from the article). That gives me a ton of info. All I need from that is a little bit of time with google and I have what I need.
Meh, the interest rate on my credit union card is 9.9%. I think I'll stick with that.
Now that you say that I know Tim Cooks name, and he has a MasterCard through Goldman Sachs. There is tons of information online about him. I’m sure he has an Amex Black Card too.
All that info and ur defeated when the rep asks for telephone pin verification and last 4 of social.
This ain’t 1856 - times have gotten a little more complicated.
You both have excellent credit scores, anything over 750 is considered top tier anywhere else.....curious why you are not approved at 12.99% interest and what it would take to be at or around that 12.99%?
If this were the case, your score will drop or has already.
Just how mine did.
2 pennies for every dollar you spend you feel is solid? And that's not everywhere...that's just places that take ApplePay.
Not so solid to me.
The Apple Card is basically just a Goldman Sachs credit card with an iOS-only app. And Apple get all your financial information for free. Revolutionary.
Almost the same story as me. 727 was the score they showed on my denial. I did find some late payments in my history on a credit account that I paid off in full and closed. My fault, I don't remember the circumstances but for some reason I did a "then I won't pay you anything, that'll show you" kind of thing when they wouldn't help me with a customer service issue but, yeah, was a few years ago and the account is closed. I could probably call up that creditor and see if they would get rid of those late payment reports in good faith since I've since paid it off since then. Was denied with a 694 Transunion score. It’s amusing to watch how much a credit card that lacks all kinds of benefits is getting. The design is cool and all but I’m not a fan of metal cards. They add a bunch of extra weight, don’t last that long because the adhesive eventually comes off, can’t easily destroy them (you typically send them back for this) etc.
I think the collections side of this new card are going to be innovative. Someone late in payments will get a notification “You owe us $5,000.00 and your Apple Watch tells us you’re still alive.”
I became a member of the 800 club with *only* a mortgage - no other debts except balances on my CC which I almost always pay off in full when payment is due.Yes I know how credit scores work. And like I said already.. and I know from being in the 800 club already that you borrow a ton/ it’s pretty cut and dry

Sure it is. And I didn’t say credit I said credit score.
