Was denied with a 694 Transunion score. The reason: recently past due. Yeah, back in 2014! Been current with everything over the last few years. Paid off a car -- no late payments; paid off a $45k loan - no past due payments. When I called GoldmanSachs, they told me to call Transunion for details as to why. It wasn't Transunion's decision - it was GoldmanSachs' decision. They give it to someone with a lower score than me which is stupid.

Not exactly... I opened Wallet, tapped the plus sign in the upper right, then selected the option to apply for the Apple Card. I had to send them a snapshot of my ID, but aside from that, it was a very simple process.

Ahh thanks. That's pretty much the process for those who got invites. I've looked at mine several times, and there is no option to apply for the Apple Card.

My CU also has the same 9.9%interest rate. I'm not a fan of proprietary CC's but if others can get a good interest rate here under the 20-26% most cards charge, go for the Apple Card.
Likewise, my credit union is offering a card with a rate as low as 9% - but not with rewards. Their cash-back card starts at 11% and pays 3% cash back on gas, 2% on groceries and warehouse clubs, and 1% everywhere else, plus a surprise 5% category that changes each month (this month it’s gas, last month it was museums, the prior month it was something like theme parks and other summer attractions).

It’s amusing to watch how much a credit card that lacks all kinds of benefits is getting. The design is cool and all but I’m not a fan of metal cards. They add a bunch of extra weight, don’t last that long because the adhesive eventually comes off, can’t easily destroy them (you typically send them back for this) etc.

Got a $6,500 limit with 17.99 APR. Higher limit than I expected but perfect as my primary card for security, privacy, and dashboard of my transactions

My card is shipping today, 816 Transunion Score, a $7500 Limit at 17.99%

Congratulations!!!!

An unboxing video of a credit card? I think we've reached Peak Consumerism.

To be honest the whole phone unboxing got old 8yrs ago! I’ve been annoyed since. Consumerism peaked when we see clean ‘post your Mac setups’ some 15yrs ago - not hating cause a clean desk shows how you respect yourself and pay mind to your work ethic; no distractions!

Why you would trust your Finances to Apple is Crazy. who knows what they can pull.

Haters doing their job and puttin in work!

You obviously have no idea how this card works! Goldman Sacks is the bank behind the finances, Apple is the service and connection between you and them; their not funding you anything.

Regardless of credit limit...remember if you pay it off at the end of the month it is 0% interest!!!
Remember also it is ok to give a little interest if you always pay it off the credit companies and credit scoring do not know how you can pay off a long term credit you just don’t want to pay them nothing for a month or 2. Once in a while I will pay large purchase off over 2 or 3 months. Shows you can handle debts responsible. And my credit score goes up.

That's a good point, doesn't Apple Card also have a leg up on some of its competitors in terms of cash back redemption?
Initial reports make it seem like Apple (or GS) posts the cash back to your account at the end of each day I think? I think Discover finally got around to letting you redeem any amount as well.

Unlike some of the crazy Apple expansion rumors, I think this will be a success for Apple.
I sure hope so. Look at their margins on hardware- they're cleaning up. I hope they become the next profitable bank soon and just prey on people with bad credit.

Anyone that hasn't received the invite yet should avoid this thread.
I got mine yesterday (Aug 8th) so I guess I'm in the clear....we'll see if I get approved once I apply and what limit I get. BTW, I suggest people keep checking their email to see if they got an invite. Sometimes the option doesn't get automatically enabled in Wallet even after getting the email, but tapping on 'apply now' near the end of the email text still allows to access the Apple Card application in Wallet.

Congratulations!!!!

The Apple Card is basically just a Goldman Sachs credit card with an iOS-only app. And Apple get all your financial information for free. Revolutionary.

Who is offering more than 2% in rewards on everyday purchases? 2% from what I have seen is the highest. Sure some have rotating calendars for certain things... But 2% is fairly good imo.
With my AMEX, I get triple points on a category of product, so for me, I choose TECHNOLOGY and get 3x points on purchases from major companies like Dell, Apple, Newegg, etc. Since I buy a lot of hardware throughout the year I accumlulate points rapidly. I also get free extended warranties on everything I buy. Plus excellent customer service if I need it.

The points paid for 3 RT flights to Hawaii this year, and a rental car.

Also, isn't 2% just on ApplePay purchases and 1% on everything else?

I doubt Europe will get this card then. Both the cash back and APR lowest percentage is illegal here.
I guess Apple will release an Apple Card in Europe that complies with the regulations there, keep in mind that they have to partner with a local bank in each country, so the partner bank will ensure the card conditions comply with the country's requirements. I just don't see Apple entirely giving up their profits Europe. It may take while, but I'm sure they will eventually offer something for Europe.

Hmm... if this comes to Canada, I may need to keep an eye out on whether it too has no international fees. The last time I was looking, the only other Canadian card that had something decent like that was an Amazon card, that mysteriously wouldn't allow any new applications a few years ago. Yesterday, Chase Bank forgave any outstanding debt on the old card.

International fees suck. We're talking 2-3% extra fees on every transaction
Well the US Apple Card doesn't have any international fees. We'll see if that condition prevails for an Apple Card issued in other countries when the Apple Card is rolled out to those countries, but chances are it will.

Yes... Discover, Chase, US Bank and Capital One allow redemptions of any amount. Citi and AmEx require a $25 minimum (but any amount over $25 is redeemable), while Citizens only allows redemptions in $25 increments.
