Oh the wait! I guess there should be full roll out before the iPhone event so Apple can brag about the signups for the credit card.

I have a feeling that this preview period will go on for a week before they open it up... Would still fall in the first half of August and give them time to do any testing they're doing with a larger audience. I hope I'm wrong!

That's interesting, though... Is your account listed as US? I would think they would screen who they send the email invitations to to ensure they're in the US.

In the email it says that customers have until August 15 to apply for the preview which leads me to believe it’ll probably go live for everyone a week or so after that or maybe a couple of days.

I have a question.

I generally swap sim cards between my Xs Max and my X and have a different series 4 Apple Watches synced with each.
Will I be able to use the Apple Card on each phone and watch combinatioin? I would assume that I could because the Apple Card is tied to my Apple ID.

Yes.

I wonder if the preview is a one day event and no more until it opens for all later this month.

Very true, and thank you for informing me of this, as I never would have thought about it myself! ;)

As I've been telling people the last few days about the Apple Card, different strokes for different folks.

I live in a small community, and I prefer to bank with a local bank. I've continued to hold out hope for Apple Pay support since I heard they were making some big changes in late 2019. Sadly, an employee I had a conversation with last month said they were not going to support Apple Pay due to the high risk of fraud attached to it (yeah, I know, and sadly, she owns an iPhone), but I continued to hold out hope since she seemed confused about Apple Pay. She later told me I could use PayPal instead (I didn't get into Apple Pay Cash with her, so she was referring to shopping when she said that). The bank completes their changes this week, and she appeared to be correct regarding still not supporting Apple Pay, though they are once again supporting Quicken and Mint, which she told me was responsible for a good portion of the fraud the bank experiences, so I don't know.

I'm giving the bank until the Spring to support Apple Pay, or Apple to allow you to link a bank account without a debit card (for withdrawals, not deposits), and then I may start a bank account with an online bank that supports Apple Pay. I'd hate to have to do this, create another account to keep track of, but as you said, it's my choice.

There's a lot of people on the Apple Card threads judging people, assuming the worst of them. I didn't intend on telling the full story of why I'm disappointed that a service that I read was going to support a feature, isn't going to support that feature, but I guess I did.

Unfortunately, I know some other people whose bank(s) do not support Apple Pay, and was looking forward to using Apple Pay Cash with the Apple Card. I will be informing them it doesn't work.
Where does it say it was going to support sending money? I never saw that. I mean if it said that it would support that, I get being upset. But they withdrew credit card functionality from Apple Pay Cash months ago.

Do you think that I will be able to sign up for Apple Card if I have Apple ID linked to foreign country but not US? I was able to sign up for US Apple Cash fine from wallet app using my SSN. I also have US region in settings

It didn't apparently. It was probably some blog post or news article I read somewhere. Some writer probably thought it would support it because of the cash back feature and the link with Apple Pay Cash. Could've also been a YouTube vlogger, but I think I remember reading it.

Also, I'm not upset. Disappointed, but not upset. Well, okay, I'm upset because I shared that information with others, but that's me being upset with myself. I'm not upset at Apple or GS. Just disappointed.

If anyone is interested, I was able to decipher the application link from my email (its not unique, and will bring up the "welcome" screen for Apple Card). However when tapping continue, you just get "Apple Card Unavailable". So close, yet so far away. https://wallet.apple.com/apple-card/setup/feature/ccs?
Can confirm the link opens up the card in my wallet, but I get the "Apple Card Unavailable" error. SO CLOSE yet so far!!!

It's ok... I signed up to be notified within minutes of the announcement and then within the last week put my email in again and that probably moved me to the back of the line.

I've actually been afraid to put my email in again, ya know in case I messed up the spelling the first time, in the event that it would move me back.

Perhaps these are the reasons the doctors keep giving me anxiety meds.

Anybody having that issue with an old card showing in the setup screen willing to start a new thread so we can track successful resolution on that? I had a bad experience with Apple where he told me it wasn’t their problem and called MasterCard who said they do not see the card as being there on their end. So I’m not sure how this really gets fixed.

I just put my email in again today for two reasons:

1. I couldn’t remember if I ever entered it the day of the announcement.

2. I wanted to test it to see if it would say you already signed up.

Have we even confirmed that they’re picking people by when they signed up?

Nope, we have no idea on how they are choosing. Maybe it goes by number of ApplePay transactions, or maybe it's random?

I called Apple about this too. I have a card “to add later” that I don’t have anymore. Someone from their Apple Pay department said the card is saved in iCloud and will disappear after 7 days from Apple Pay once I manually delete it from iCloud. She said it could be in iTunes, App Store, etc. I said it’s a health savings card and the only place it would be is Apple Pay and it’s not active on any device using Apple Pay. She said it must be stored somewhere in a device. I’ve gone through every setting and cannot find it. That’s where I am at with that one.

EDIT: The only place I possibly found where the card might be stored is in an iPad backup with the app of the bank where the card was from. The app is no longer installed but the app backup was in an iPad iCloud backup. Deleted the backup of the app so we’ll see what that does.

Somebody earlier or in one of the other threads said they had to call Apple again and they were transferred to the ApplePay team to put in a ticket.

Yea I did that and like I said, they said it wasn’t their problem. It was one of the poorer experiences I’ve had with Apple support. I almost filled out a survey I was so mad! :)

Like the guy above, there is no logical reason for this card to exist and they won’t look into why.

Also what is so magic about this 7 day period that it can’t be done faster to see if it’s really fixed.

Anyway, I thought this issue might be better served outside if this thread, but only if we agree to all go there.

Darn, I thought this would get me a way to apply before it gives me the option in my wallet but nope lol
