Considering that credit card services are out there since decades and perceived just as a commodity, the winning factor for Apple may be offering a completely new user experience in the daily use.

The geo localization of you purchases, their categorization and the super easy native user interface may make a big difference, becoming a key success factor for its rapid growth.

I would like to quote Jeff Bezos here when he says he’s not worried if another digital retailer is offering a product at a lower price, but he gets worried if another digital retailer is offering a better customer experience.

And a better customer experience is just what we are about to see with this credit card.

Why is everyone so excited about a credit card? I don't get it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There has never been enough Apple branded stuff for people to buy.

We know this and they know this and they keep it that way so their brand gets people excited whenever they launch a new product. As Jobs said, keep them hungry. Many luxury brands like Chanel damaged their brand in the eighties by producing T-shirts, which is why Apple has always been cautious with merch.

But now that iPhone revenue has peaked, they need to diversify, and credit cards - especially fancy ones like these - must seem like a decent way of attracting more accounts and services, above and beyond the simple revenue stream from use of the card itself. What if they create a MoneyOS and Money App Store in the future, creating a whole new ecosystem in finance, just as they are doing in Health.

But, I agree, a tricorder it is not.

Does anyone know if this was a one day thing or will Apple send out invites daily ?

I think you mean your transunion FICO score is 820. You have 3 FICO scores, one from each Bureau. Technically you have much more since there are various FICO models. Just pointing out that FICO score is all relative to the bureau so your initial sentence didn’t make sense :)

You are correct, in my haste to post I left out that my Experian FICO score was 850 and the Transunion score was 820...apologies.

That’s funny, my Barclays credit card was raised to 8k as well today, I’m in the UK though lol.

That’s funny. Would deff be funnier if you were in the US! Haha.

Also some Apple Stores reportedly had issues with Apple Pay being used when customers used an AMEX.

Coincidences? Idkkk.

Anybody having that issue with an old card showing in the setup screen willing to start a new thread so we can track successful resolution on that? I had a bad experience with Apple where he told me it wasn’t their problem and called MasterCard who said they do not see the card as being there on their end. So I’m not sure how this really gets fixed.

Has anyone been able to remove the old credit cards that still show up in the wallet app?

I also have this issue.

Posted this yesterday but I called Apple, they connected me with Apple Pay who then took the card info (last 4), SeID number and opened an engineering ticket. They said they’d follow up.

Makes Sense. Was thinking that too. Doubt if Sachs will handle millions of requests in the same day or two. Plus not everyone who got an Invite frequents this Forum. But, they want them all out before new iPhones are released. Maybe 100,000 per day. At 2 million, that is still 20 days. Still seems like a lot of processing too me. I am using 2 million because, I believe, that is about what Apple said they had Invite requests for. Am sure I will be at the end. I did request an Invite shortly after Event.

They must be sending emails daily, my co worker just got an email to apply. Maybe to avoid crashing the system they are doing it this way but calling it a preview to avoid being embarrassed that they can’t handle it all at once ...

Was your co-worker able to actually apply?

Good to hear they are still going out. Seems like a slow random rollout to those who signed up to be notified, and then they will flip the switch for everyone sometime later this month.

This makes sense, but someone said there was a "due date" once you get the invite stating you have to sign up by 8/15. I wonder why there would be that due date?

Yes he applied and got 2500 limit , his email is dated today so I’m hoping I get mine also ... crazy over a credit card I know , will be worse if not approved haha

Not sure about a due date , weird because I never seen a due date for credit card application unless it was for a promotion
