Don’t beat me up. From older generation. But, this from Goldman Sachs Agreement.

Making Payments
This section explains when you must pay us each month, how to pay us, and how we apply those payments to your Account.
At the beginning of each month, we will send you a Monthly Statement reflecting activity on your Account that occurred since the previous Monthly Statement, such as new Transactions, interest and Daily Cash Adjustments. It will also identify your New Balance, your Monthly Balance (if you do not have a financing plan, your Monthly Balance is equal to your New Balance), the Minimum Payment Due and the payment due date.
Your payment is due by 11:59 P.M. ET on the last calendar day of each month.
You must pay at least your Minimum Payment Due by the payment due date each month. You may pay all or part of the outstanding balance on your Account at any time without penalty.
HOW TO PAY
You can make electronic payments using Apple Wallet to initiate electronic fund transfers (e.g., ACH or debit) from your (i) Apple Cash account or (ii) a bank account(s) with a financial institution located in the U.S. (each, a "Payment Source Account").
When making payments:
• Do not send us cash.
• Pay only using U.S. dollars.
• You should not pay more than your Account balance. We do not pay interest on credit balances.
• Each day, you may make a total maximum of five (5) electronic payments on your Account.

Can I take that to mean we will get a paper statement? I don’t do many online payments from my checking account. Only online payments may keep me from applying.

I've actually been afraid to put my email in again, ya know in case I messed up the spelling the first time, in the event that it would move me back.

Perhaps these are the reasons the doctors keep giving me anxiety meds.

I signed up at least 3 times for notifications, one as late as yesterday, and I still got in today. So, it won’t move you back in line.

In terms of why I was chosen? Probably luck, but here are factors that may play into it:
I use Apple Pay a lot. I had Apple Cash setup. I’m not using the betas, but I am signed up for the program. I’ve had my Apple ID since iCloud came out.

Ok, you all heard Brian. Invites go to the people that put their email in most often on the sign-up site.

Just to show how misinformed people can be about credit, someone told me to pay off only the statement balance, as paying off the current balance will result in you "not actually using credit", and thus no score increases.

Your post is incredibly helpful, I now plan on doing the same thing. I usually just paid the statement balance at the end of each cycle. At least I've never paid interest I guess.

Similar to the original poster, I essentially pay off my cards weekly. I have 3 cards and use them all to keep them active. However, my statement balances are typically $0 because they are usually paid off before the statement hits. It doesn’t seem to have any affect on my credit score. My score has been well into the 800’s for years. My score (FICO 8) actually hits the “holy grail” of 850 sometimes.

I pay off my 3 cards semi monthly (every payday) and typically have a $0 balance.

My FICO score is 850 right now and is at 820 on Transunion...and I haven't gotten an invite.

Guess that I will just have to wait until after the 15th to apply for the card...dammit!

This is also very good to know. I think I'll start doing this as well, even though statement balance is sufficient.

I think you mean your transunion FICO score is 820. You have 3 FICO scores, one from each Bureau. Technically you have much more since there are various FICO models. Just pointing out that FICO score is all relative to the bureau so your initial sentence didn’t make sense :)

thats BS - no way the dude from the verge and most other outlets were part of this “random selection”

Did the dude say he got approved today? Because the story he wrote was posted at 6:00 A.M. E.D.T. this morning, so while it didn't seem a very personalized story, he might have had it sooner.

Just an FYI to everyone, I only signed up to be notified yesterday and I was invited so I don’t think it has anything to do with a place in line. I think it was just random selection.

Guys even Tim Cook himself is waiting for his invite. No one gets preferential treatment! ;)

Well i would assume that Apple would have media ppl get early access. Kind of like testing out a new iphone before it comes out. How else would they review it otherwise?

I believe Apple said “random selection”.
Everyone says it is random. And i am sure that is the official tagline from Apple. But i am sure there is a method to this. Like i think they can see what devices your Apple id is tied to. And wanting certain users to test it on those devices before others. Or maybe they can see who uses Apple pay more often. And who doesn’t. But i don’t believe it is truly random. I am sure Apple has a method to their madness.
