I plan on using mine solely as a forever card to keep a credit line in my portfolio. Chase cards aren’t much better with rewards, but with no annual fee, it only will help to keep another card open.

just remember to use the card. it also hurts your credit score if you have a credit card that you do not use at all. you have to keep the card active, even if it's just keeping a monthly subscription like netflix on the card each month.

I have been trying the link and not able to apply (only seeing old cards -- ugh) -- also, signed up like 5 or more times. On the east coast, so I wonder if it has anything to do with the time zone difference. Really hope that all people who signed up get a chance to apply before they release it to the general public.

I'm on the East Coast, and I now have the ability to sign up. Noticed it at 3:00 A.M. last night. It didn't work a few hours before.

I legit thought I got an invite, saw Apple on an email notification pop up, sweet right?? Nope, was just a Beats advertisement lol, the wait continues...

I made the mistake of signing into iCloud on a new device. Boy was I excited when I saw that email from Apple in my Inbox, only to find that it was just a notification of new sign-in.

Ugh -- still must be sending out the invites or opening it up -- really wish they (Apple) handled this roll-out better -- I mean there are tons of us who want the card and may have to wait until next week or longer -- I just want to see if I am approved -- smh

I have a few that are in charge off because of I lost my job and had a hard time finding one for awhile, plus I had a company that I was paying to handle my debt but it turned out to be a scam. These didnt prevent me from getting a Capital One card, Discover IT card and an amazon store card. And no my credit didnt get dinged, the terms state that only if accepted itll be a hard pull..

I completely understand, sorry to hear that, sounds like you are back on you feet though. Try to call in, a person may be able to approve it for you over the machine algorithms. Good luck my friend and thank you for the reply. :)

Me too man! I’d love to know how I got bent over a saw horse..lol!!

I live alone and I put my income as 113,790. Which is slightly inflated, but pretty close.

so did you apply for the card and got a high interest rate? it looks like you have very good credit, so i'm thinking it's the amount of the total household income that may be affecting the interest rates when we apply. so say a single person who say maybe makes 55,000 a year may be getting a higher interest rate compared to someone who lives with their SO and their total income for the year is say like 100,000 may be getting a lower interest. can those who have been approved and accepted or even denied their initial proposal comment please?

Just got the email 10 minutes ago, already applied and approved. Physical card in 3-5 days. I’m a little surprised by the 17.99% APR as my FICO is 790 or so, but not a big deal since I don’t plan on carrying a balance.

Credit Karma scores are not used by lenders, the majority use FICO scores. It is possible that your FICO scores are lower than 800. If you google credit check total they offer a trial for $1 and you can see them. Also, credit scores are not the only thing that lenders look at (scores, how long you've had credit for, income, credit to income ratio, etc).

Good to know I'm not the only person continuously pressing the plus sign in the Apple Wallet at 3am.

What's bad is that I don't even intend on applying until next year. My credit utilization will be horrible for a few more months, so I'm going to wait until all that's taken care of first.

I got denied as well for the "you have recently been past due" reason. The review shows my credit score as much higher than what Credit Karma is telling me; almost 100 points higher. Also, according to Credit Karma, I have 100% payment history - I can't remember being past due - maybe a few years ago when I got into credit trouble but I worked really hard to pay everything off. I also closed a lot of accounts when I paid them off a la Dave Ramsey's rules. The only card I have now is a Discover which I've been totally responsible with and pay off the total balance every month.

You can also call whichever credit agency is reporting the wrong score and make a dispute with them. They will review your credit report, and if there is any error on their end, fix it...and adjust your score accordingly.

I just had to do this with TransUnion, they had me marked down for a late payment to New York State, however, the issue is I do not pay New York State for anything...well taxes, but those were paid and that is not what it was saying the late payment was for...it literally just said "Late Payment - New York State. Made zero sense to me, so I did the dispute and sure enough it can back as an error on their part and they adjusted my credit score accordingly.

Always worth a try. I do not trust these credit agencies because I think they pull things on people because A LOT of people pay zero attention to their credit scores/reports etc (and then when they do get caught, they just say it was an error)...which is really inexcusable in this day and age with all the free apps like Credit Karma to check your scores/reports literally anytime you want.

Yup! I applied immediately when I noticed it available in my wallet app Tuesday morning. I got this approval. I am stumped! I texted Apple support and this what they said. Oh well! Nothing I can do but hopefully they will adjust my APR.

It's good to know that they will reevaluate the interest rates though after 6 months. Maybe they will do line increases at that rate as well.

Actually my credit score was an 819. I just purchased a house and only been here less than a month. So I know my credit will drop slightly once my mortgage loan hits my credit. But, still I applied now and I know my credit is over 800 still. I was just using credit karma as an example I wasn’t lying. I understand its not accurate. No way I should be at 17.99 for this card. A little annoying for sure. Thanks bud!

I'm a little surprised, too. My FICO is 826 and I also got a 17.99% rate. I'm still deciding if I want to do this - that's a crappy interest rate.

Tell me about it. Chase approved me for the Amazon Visa card at 24.99% with the same overall credit profile and only for $5k. The APR should not matter as rewards cards should be paid in full. Hopefully, your credit line grows eventually and it doesn't take another credit check.

I've got a metal card, and was surprised to get a FedEx overnight envelope to return the card to them. Normally, with the plastic ones, scissors work to destroy them, but they actually wanted that card back and strongly urged me to return it. It came with a FedEx call tag too, they paid for the return. I found it odd, but...

Also I did hear of a guy that sharpened the edge of his card, and was able to cut things, and throw it and stick it in walls. I guess the world is full of odd people... *shrug*
