Trump has fooled many of you just as he fooled the electorate in WI, MI, PA, and NC.

This meeting is not about the tech industry or those who attended. It is 100% about Trump summoning all of the wealthiest and largest corporations to Trump Tower to sit around a table where he is at the center. He said nothing of substance, and when he did say anything, he basically took credit for the stock market going up and joked that those around the table must be thankful to him for that.

He is an orange oompa loompa fraud and nothing more. A narcissist at the core. What a great press he gets for snapping his fingers and everyone from Silicon Valley comes to see him to kiss his ring. Apple should have declined the invitation, instead inviting Trump to visit Cook in Sunnyvale. This is insulting to anyone in a CEO position, especially to someone like Elon Musk who has put everything on the line to save our planet from climate change, only to sit at a table directed by someone who remains willfully ignorant of science and facts.

Trump's children had NO BUSINESS there, but we all know Trump is using his new elected position to enrich his family. What a disaster this is going to be for America. Complete and total disaster. Those who voted for Trump or did not vote for Clinton will have blood on your hands when the economy crashes. I can only hope that this peach phantom gets impeached before he can do too much damage.

If you only knew how ridiculous you sound. I could write an entire volume on how this is no different than any politician in America since George Washington and before. The very thesis of your post is that Trump has somehow created the cesspool that is Washington. He hasn't. However, he will most likely continue on the process of destroying the Republic. #Wakeup

Nailed it, except for the Clinton part. She's just as corrupt and had no business being the democratic nominee.

1) Oh they're working instead of laughing? That's so bad. I am SURE that meetings with Tim Cook are a blast at Apple, and everyone laughs from beginning to end.
2) I am also sure that Trump is able keep a photo-op going for two hours. Really? You think that those guys would waste two hours for Trump?
3) If they didn't want to be there they could've just said no. it's not that those are small animals in the jungle.
They could have just said no? Are you kidding? If any one of them had been invited but declined the invitation Trump would have immediately taken to Twitter to trash that CEO and their company. And once Trump tweets something it's all over the news and sometimes even impacts a company's stock price. There is no way to spin this as anything other than a photo op for Trump to feed his massive ego. Nothing of substance was discussed. The tech leaders showed up because not showing up would've been a PR headache.

We're still waiting on the damning evidence/proof/whatever that proves Trump is a misogynist, racist, homophobe, etc, et.al. Where is it? Maybe Kanye or Ray has it?

We need actual evidence, not interpreted narratives that are actually opinions.

malexandria, where'd you go? Oh...
Okay, I'll bite.

Mexican judges. Build the wall. Rapists. Grab her by the *****. Man of the year. Locking disabled reporters. Calling his own daughter a piece of ass. For starters.

The reason people are not bothering to respond is because Trump's racism, misogyny, prejudice, corruption and self-centredness is so well documented and beyond doubt that if you haven't seen it by now, you literally never will.

I cannot fathom those who are saying he has done so much for America already. He has done literally nothing; worse, he's taken credit for deals done by others, lied about saving jobs, offered massive tax breaks to companies he holds stock in and has stuffed his cabinet nominations with the strongest examples of the kind of people he claimed he would drain the swamp of. You've been played, totally; come back in a year and see what's happened. It won't be pretty.

He's conducting meeting's with foreign heads of State (with his daughter), he's attending national security briefings, he's meeting heads of companies (with his children). Despite what you say - he has started - and his children - who are running his companies should not be attending those meetings - anyone who thinks otherwise is either a moron or an apologist.

I am not "giving him a chance" - I am calling him out on corruption - which this is.

I do think otherwise. Soooo, that gives me a right to say that the moron is you (I'm allowed to respond the same way so don't feel offended). Give examples what does corruption have anything to do with involving his children who are adult entrepreneurs with a much higher IQ than most people here. Tell us and enlighten us what exactly is corrupt about having his family involved in the meetings? (since they are part of his advisory team) Please give examples how the corruption is clear and evident and how this is all wrong or unlawful. Or simply **** and go back to watch CNN.

Huh? This isn't new or novel.

presidentelect-george-w-bush-with-business-leaders-from-technology-picture-id51583275

Sure... other president elects have had a "meet and greets" with all sorts of groups... but I'm hopeful Trumps meetings are more than that and we might actually see something get done. What came out of this meeting? Nothing I can remember. Same with Obama's meeting. Now we'll see if Trump is truly different and means what he says. You have to admit, this meeting I'm sure had a very different tone.

It's called a conflict of interest. Remind me of which formal policy meetings of previous presidents elect had three of the president's children at the table along with his son-in-law? Which meetings with foreign presidents were hosted by Chelsea, exactly? (Ivanka has been personally present and in on phone calls with multiple foreign leaders, places where she and her father have business interests.) And which other presidents kept their business holdings in something other than a blind trust during their presidency?

Here's a strong dose of "American History". Ready? Here it comes:

(1) When John Adams was elected president in 1797, he appointed HIS SON (you know, from "The Birds and the Bees") "U.S. Minister to Prussia". (That's a foreign country that no longer exists. It was later folded into modern-day Germany. It's now part of the "European Union" in Europe. Across the Atlantic Ocean. That large body of water outside of New York City, Washington DC, Miami, etc.)

(2) William Stephens Smith, President’s JQ Adam's SON-IN-LAW (you know, the guy that was stuffing his daughter). Adams apparently liked him so much, he nominated him for SEVERAL government positions including the customs agent in New York which was then the MAJOR source of income for the Federal Government because there was no Income Tax or IRS at the time.

(3) In 1960, President John F Kennedy (D) appointed his brother (you know, they came from the same womb and sperm source) Robert Kennedy,"The US Attorney General".

(4) Google "Clinton Cash" Chelsea used the Clinton Foundation funds, significantly funded from foreign donors, for her own personal wedding. Chelsea was also given plush high six-figure positions because she was "Chelsea Clinton". Do your own research on this one.

(5) To answer your hilarious question: "And which other presidents kept their business holdings in something other than a blind trust during their presidency?"

Ready ... wait for it ... wait ... wait ... here it is: "BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA", The 44th US President from 2009 to 2017. (reference: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jennife...decessors-did-with-their-assets/#11b831b77915)

My God, man. You people make this too freaking easy. What the heck are they putting in the Kool-Aid these days? A mix of benadryl, codeine, and heroine?! I mean, you are so asleep you can't even see what's right at your fingertips.

Right you are. Many Canadians are delusional. Those that are, still apologize for Trudeau. Face it, you elected the Obama of the North, but unlike Americans you actually had years and years of real-life observation of Chicago Jesus and still went for it.

In fairness, Canada does run about 6-8 years behind the states, so we thought we were electing a slightly-frenchier version of first year Obama.

Tim has been given an open ended opportunity to give direct feedback to a new President. Don't waste that. Make that from a newly hired 10-30 person legal team suggesting regulatory, administrative and legislative changes. Not to mention state level suggestions the new President can lobby for on your behalf.

Go big or go home. You have a golden key.

Need help? Just ask!!

big deal. everyone on here is acting like this ass is the first one to hold this type of summit when Obama has had several in the past. I will never like or support this misogynistic, homophobic, racist ass.

Homophobic? Well he's going to be pretty, pretty surprised when he learns about Tim and Peter.

Ma'am,

You're portraying, healthcare, economics, and historical facts at the level of a grade school child.

(1) Dems have made healthcare in America worse by a long shot and even the government itself has conceded that. Centralization and forcing alleged "free citizens" to pay for something they don't want is blatant "socialism". Americans have made their voices heard. They don't want Obamacare nor do they want socialism.

(2) What does Republicans bitching about Hillary have to do with anything? Her plans were schnit then and they are apparently schnit now.

(3) His children ARE running his businesses (as they should be) AND will be helping him in his transition into the role of POTUS. Much like when Bobby Kennedy (a Democrat) was made the US Attorney General by his brother President John F Kennedy (conveniently forgotten). Did anyone cry, "The most corrupt President!", then?

Furthermore, this is no different than when Obama hired a family member of each top network exec into positions at the White House. Or how about John Kerry's son-in-law who has deep ties to Iran's foreign ministry. I can go on and on.

This is why the Clintons lost after spending over a $1+Billion dollars (significant amount of foreign funds) and parading every entertainer and SJW they could find to get people to vote for their bankrupt policies and platform.

Please stop drinking the "Hope & Change" blue Kool-Aid. Trump is the President. For better or for worse. Be more objective and factual. Stop with the "Sky is falling!" nonsense and move on. People will respect and listen to your view points more often.
its SIR not Ma'am and you should read what i was responding to before writing snide comments that aren't related to the subject matter. and when Bobby Kennedy was appointed people did complain - in fact LBJ passed a law preventing nepotism. People complained - we didn't elect Hillary when she was put in charge of health care reform - but, are those same people complaining about Trumps children - no. As far as your tirade about Obama care - tell that to the people on it who didn't have coverage before.

Until he is sworn in then he has no power. He can say a lot of things and get the duck lined up but making America great already? Please stop drinking the Trump brand of cool-aid.
Come back after a year and lets have a discussion on the subject.

1 and 2 your going pretty far back in time - 3 was wrong and LBJ put an end do that saying nepotism is wrong (which is where we are today in our complaints about Trump) 4 - is an unsubstantiated un-investigated WIKI leak paper and 5 - read the article - it addresses any conflict of interest issues with President Obama ( I did not how you capitalized every letter in his full name - I wasn't sure if you were trying to make some racist point or that you like him and wanted to emphasize his name).

And what exactly are you trying to say? Are all of your arguments examples of things presidents did that were wrong or right? if your listing things that are wrong then what Trump is doing is also wrong, by your definition, and should be stopped. what's that saying - two wrongs don't make a right.

Say what you want about Trump but he at least is starting to get work done and he hasn't even been sworn in yet. Compare that to Trudeau up here in Canada who has been in power for a year and all he has to show for it are a bunch of selfies from around the world
I'm not sure what your work experience may be. But I can pretty safely assert that meetings are not work.
I've yet to hear anything productive announced from his meetings aside from a bunch of billionaire, industry insider cabinet appointees.

Twitter was not invited because they refused to create an Emoji that mocked Clinton - it appears that any company needs to stay away from Trumps "line of fire" (or they will be sorry)

I'm not aware of this term "Sock Puppet" in regards to posting online. Clarification?

He thinks I'm an alter ego of another commenter, chiming in either to agree with my own comments under another name, or deceptively stirring up controversy.

I'm not.

Apple CEO Tim Cook visited Trump Tower along with other prominent tech executives on Wednesday as they gathered in New York for a summit with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who was accompanied by three of his adult children.

According to The New York Times, the meeting was attended by 11 other tech executives, including Alphabet's Larry Page and Eric Schmidt, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty, and Tesla's Elon Musk. Vice-President-Elect Mike Pence was also at the table.

19385-19730-czquuifvqaew02p-l.jpg

Cook sat two seats away from Trump, beside Facebook board member and Trump transition official Peter Thiel, and listened as the president-in-waiting began by heaping praise on the executives in the room.
According to The Wall Street Journal, executives were then invited to introduce themselves one by one.
A number of issues were discussed once the press were ushered out of the meeting room. According to several executives who attended the meet, topics included trade, immigration, and vocational education - the latter being one of the main reasons Cook has previously given for why most Apple products are made in China.

Trump has rebuked Apple in the past for basing the vast majority of it assembly plants in other countries. While campaigning earlier this year, Trump said "we're going to get Apple to start building their damn computers and things in this country instead of in other countries", while he has also threatened to introduce a 45 percent tax on products imported from China.

According to USA Today, Trump also told executives at the meeting that he planned to slash the corporate tax rate in the U.S. in order to make it a lot easier to repatriate money kept overseas.
The meeting reportedly ran for two hours and included "productive discussions about job creation and economic growth", said incoming White House Chief of Staff Renice Priebus. At the end of the summit, Trump suggested, and tech leaders agreed to, meeting quarterly, according to a person briefed on the meeting.

Cook was a Hillary Clinton supporter during the election campaign and hosted a fundraiser for the Democratic presidential nominee in August on behalf of himself. In a company-wide memo issued following Trump's victory, Cook urged Apple employees to "move forward together" despite "uncertainties ahead".

Despite any personal misgivings he may have had in the past, Cook reportedly stayed at Trump Tower after the summit was over to meet privately with the President-Elect for further discussions.

Tim looks rather uncomfortable in that room......

Tim who though he owned the US government and could easily control it, put money against Trump and lost.

Now he is not laughing anymore which is good.

Tim should get back to innovating at Apple and stop being a social justice warrior, campaigning or take political sides.

Mexican judges.
The judge is of Mexican descent, yes. And?

Build the wall.
Indeed. Stopping illegal immigration is important. Try just walking into Finland and living there. Nope.

Rapists.
Indeed. And he said "I assume some are good people." There are plenty of rapists living within 500 miles of you. And?

Grab her by the *****.
Locker room talk. While inappropriate, let's not pretend men don't talk shop when they are alone. Ask any woman how 50 Shades of Grey was. Humans are so hypocritical. Everyone pretends they are as pure as the freshly driven snow. Nah.

Man of the year.
Yes, he was. Let me guess, here comes the Hitler "parallel"

Locking disabled reporters.
Assuming you meant "mocking:" Trump is a very strong businessman. This was his version of defending himself since the reporter said spiteful things. Doesn't mean Trump suddenly hates all disabled people, please get off your high horse.

Calling his own daughter a piece of ass.
Creepy, yes. He speaks off the cuff and isn't a polished politician who fakes it for the cameras. Hillary has this down pat and lost in a landslide. If this is the reason anyone refused to vote for him, good for them I suppose. Ivanka is smoking hot though. And super smart. Her dad raised her well.

I guess it boils down to this. You don't like him. Cool. He's going to be our president in 1 month. You can acknowledge that he's an imperfect human (psst: we all are) and hope this country prospers (if you are a legal US resident) or you can be miserable the entire time. Or move to Tijuana, Aleppo or otherwise? (Canada's full) None of it really matters since nothing will change. Hillary is never going to be president and Bernie is 100 years old. The only thing that's drastically changed for the better is mine and your 401k/stocks.

So yeah, duped or whatever, I support our PEOTUS just like I did/do any president because I'm an American first. What you do is your business and I don't envy your position. Sounds miserable to be pissed off around the clock.

Nope. He said 1,000, but it's actually ess than 600, and he had to cut their taxes to ribbons to do it, AND he's a stockholder, AND they will go to Mexico eventually in any case. And he lied to the workforce too. Read up on it, its shameful.

read up on the lying mainstream media who's had it out for Trump from day 1?

because you'd know he's no longer a stock holder

He's going to have to try really hard to beat Obama. Or should I say President Monsanto?
