Well, the kids are in the transition team, which is NOT a government entity and not an official office. It is possible that - despite what the media said during the elections - the Trump family is very close and in order to better evaluate people he might ask advice to those closest to him.

That is very dangerous. Trump has business interests all over the world. His children being in meetings with heads of states gives this message:

when I become president and you negotiate with my son/daughter in business interests, you are also negotiating with the POTUS.

We elected a president. Not a monarchy!

"A number of issues were discussed once the press were ushered out of the meeting room. According to several executives who attended the meet, topics included trade, immigration, and vocational education... The meeting reportedly ran for two hours and included "productive discussions about job creation and economic growth..."

And when has there been any sort of impressively productive meeting on real economic drivers like this in the past 8 years? I rest my case.

Trump has done more good for the country in the past few weeks than the previous administration has done in the last 8 years, and he's not even sworn into office yet. Looks like America stands a real chance at recovery after the devastating damage that's occurred over the last decade. I'm anxiously watching to see how this all plays out over the next few years. I'm hopeful it's not too late to fix things. There is a chance. It's not going to be easy though. Buckle up!

It's obvious Tim didn't want to be there, but he really had no choice. If Tim doesn't show up, Trump would probably jack up tariffs on Apple products and deport all immigrant Apple employees and their family members. He may still try to do those things, but at least the chances are lower now.

Dude, seriously. Not that I like the fact that his kids are attending some of the meetings, but those in the room are sharks. You're talking about trillion dollar industry leaders and head of governments, some of them very powerful governments both militarily and for trade. Do you honestly think that they feel threatened in any way because Ivanka shows up? Or that they don't know already that whoever is close to the POTUS (be it a relative or a very close friends) carries a lot of weight? Come on. The real world is different, if anything Trump is more straightforward. As the Clinton emails have shown (and I am not picking on HRC in particular, it's just that it is the available info) this happens already, and in a much more subtle and invisible way.

I just want to know why his adult kids where a part of this government meeting? Feels like insider knowledge. Of course, he could always tell them whatever happened inside or give them documents, but its not the same as them being inside the actual meeting.

somehow i get the sneaky feeling that if Hillary was doing this you'd be jumping up and down screaming (correctly) out complaints.

I might vote one way or another, and have a preference but if you followed my posts in PRSI you would know that I carry no allegiance to a candidate and/or a party. I am ready to dump Trump at the first sign of real issues.

Because it's not a government meeting.

"Whatever you need, you can call me"

Not a very smart thing to say to multibillion dollar corporations.

"Hey we need X million in tax cuts otherwise we're moving to Mexico"

"Oh, this will make me look bad, have some tax cuts at the expense of our citizens"

I thought Trump was going to help the working man? Yet, here he is promising to make the multibillion dollar corporations more money and hiring ex-bankers to his cabinet. Trump supporters, you've been had just like everyone predicted. But continue to believe the supposed billionaire will in some way help you. Even though he has actively trodden on the working man to make more money. But MAGA you morons.

Why doesn't he meet with small business representatives? What are his children doing at any government related function? Imagine if Obama had his daughters sitting in to one of his meetings, Fox news would have an aneurism.

None of them might care about trump kids, but you should care who is part of the meetings. Your excuse for Trumps adult kids is ridiculous.

Say what you want about Trump but he at least is starting to get work done and he hasn't even been sworn in yet. Compare that to Trudeau up here in Canada who has been in power for a year and all he has to show for it are a bunch of selfies from around the world

Trump really seems to want to make things better. Whoever he has to work with, the goal is to make things better for America and American citizens. I hear people complaining about immigration (other nations citizens) and things like that, but you can't say that Trump is trying to hurt American citizens. Obama sure had a message of America has to pay for its sins. That American needs to apologize for the hurt it has done to other nations. That America needs to be brought down a few rungs. With Trump, we now have a Pro USA President (surprised that I have to write that) instead of president on his knees (Obama) begging for the worlds forgiveness and saying sorry like some beta male who takes a back seat and lets other nations lead.

How about he meets with both? Patience. He's already planning on cutting taxes and reducing regulations affecting businesses which hits the small businesses the most.

I'll ask. Where are the quotes? Where is the proof? Trump speaks as a normal person. He says things in the moment that are the language of normal people, not a smooth talking political person. That's how people have flipped out and incorrectly labeled him.

So, again, what direct proof can anyone provide that he's a proven racist, mysoginist, homophobe, etc? Concrete evidence, we will wait.

Hillary's mentor was part of the KKK. That's pretty concerning. What's Trump's smoking gun again?

Oh, the wall? Is that it? His wife is a LEGAL immigrant and he simply wants other immigrants to follow the law. So that's not it...

Turn off CNN and open your mind.

It was proven that his immigrant wife worked illegally in the country.

what, lmao, stop trying to twist my words.

Oh I see you don't know what else to say.

who's twisting words now?

Is your fear that one of the people attending may stay at a Trump Hotel? Or maybe purchase a tie or bracelet from the Trump Store? Or god forbid they eat a Taco Bowl at the Trump Grill!

Tim does not look happy to be there, the look on his face says it all.

I'm sure if you look through all of the pictures you will find a picture of him smiling and looking happy.
It's a 2 hour long meeting. The 2 ms that it takes to snap a picture isn't a good reflection is his or anyone thoughts.

Exactly. If Hillary or Chelsea were at meetings when Bill Clinton was president, the Republicans would be outraged. But the shoe's on the other foot, and they could care less.

Republicans were outraged at the co-presidency they thought was happening with Bill and Hillary Clinton when Bill won the White House. They said that Hillary wasn't elected and that she should stay out of politics. Now, it's a whole Trump family White House and they don't give a crap.

When hasn't there? Meetings like this happen regularly. They have for decades, under Democrats and Republicans. The media just don't make a fuss about it because it's called doing your job. But Trump's special, and he's being a big boy now, so he needs to be praised.

Not a problem until he's sworn in, at least from a legal point of view.

Correct, but I also would hope our president would not present himself on inauguration day free of any conflicts that would materialize the moment he is sworn in. To date, everything he has done suggests he has no intention of clearing that conflict and constitutional violation.
