I don't have an X. I am an Apple share holder.
People have been saying the X is a huge failure.
I know plenty of people that have the X.
I also know plenty f people that won't buy it because it feels "small".
They actually want an X+.
For now they stick wth an 8+.

I can't call it. I just know Apple is printing money and my dividends are pretty good.

Shouldn't this be expected being that it is the newer device? Maybe 51% of the iPhones sold are iPhone X. It is all speculation as they never release actual numbers.

How was it last year with the iPhone 7?

Ok, that's what I thought it meant. Is this any different from prior releases? Doesn't the most recent model usually outsell older models that are still for sale?
Yes but previous new phones starting price was cheaper than $999.

They don't break down sales to individual models, "but trust us... X topped the charts EVERY week (gleaming ping from Tim's tooth)!". Yeah frickin' right.

If only non-Apple companies could get away w/ such blatant secrecy, partial lies & spin. This company's arrogance & contempt for its users is sickening, to me.
They do. Amazon never reveals sales figures.

Did the iPhone 7 start at $999? And were there two other new phones released along side of it?

Tim,
Please quantify "off the charts".
It could mean billions, but it could also mean 1, if the chart only goes to zero.

The price difference between last quarter's base iPhone 7 and this quarter's iPhone 8 was $50. For the base 7 / 8 Plus models it was $30. And yet ASP was up $101. The only way that was possible is if people were buying the $999-1149 iPhone X.

Does anyone breakdown individual sales? Google? Amazon? In fact, among the big tech boys, Apple gives out the MOST INFORMATION on their financial quarter reports.

As noted above, ASP went UP despite slightly slower sales. THINK IT THROUGH SLOWLY. YOU WILL GET IT. OR MAYBE NOT.

Again, name me another company that gives so much info in their reports. Arrogance? Contempt? Maybe you should look at other companies.

What exactly does Tim's statement mean? That they sell more iPhone X's each week vs other iPhone models Apple is currently selling? Or that it's the highest selling iPhone ever?
I asked a similar question in a different thread.

It isn't clear on how well the iPhone X is selling when compared to the iPhone 8.

So yeah, we've confirmed the Nikkei news was fake yet again.

ASP of $800 means iPhone X was crazy good. The expectation was $750. Blow out for iPhone X.

The only disappointing thing seems to be overall unit sales, which perhaps was due to a lot of people waiting for the iPhone X. iPhone X was only selling 8 weeks in December, so I believe the next launch will be much stronger

Sometimes price doesn’t put people off, I paid the U.K price of £999 for my iPhone X and I don’t regret it! The best iPhone so far. Also let’s not forget that a lot of people also have their phones on contract and trade in their old ones. I’m not surprised that the iPhone X sold really well, I think when Apple release a iPhone X Plus it will sell even better.

That's good. But I still just saw my first X in the wild two days ago - in suburban Washington, DC. I live within 14 miles of 3 Apple stores, so you'd think they'd be all over the place.

I have yet to see one in the county I live in.

Not necessarily. It could be that more people are buying non-base model 8/8 plus iPhones.

Edit: Also could mean that customers just aren’t buying as many of the cheaper/older models ie SE or 7/6S etc....

It is outselling the 8, 8+, etc..

With respect, it's perfectly clear. Since 3 November 2017 when the iPhone X became available for sale, it has outsold every other iPhone model available at the same time (so iPhone SE, iPhone 6s/6s Plus and iPhone 7/7 Plus) on a weekly basis.

Yes, I agree, but, no where in the quote does it say that the X has sold more than the 8.

On this thread and others, the posts would make you believe that it is.

the X sales could be as low as 12.6 % and they could still be the highest sold every week, with 8 phones currently being sold by Apple. Nothing is clear since they don't release numbers.
