Sure, building up debts from hospital bills due lack of social healthcare is not oppressive.... :)

Crushing would be employers so they can't hire workers or pay a decent wage is oppressive, and that's what Obamacare has done.

Have a sponsor that would help them assimilate

In Canada, the word assimilate has been deemed totally offensive has been quashed by PCs, SJWs, and our infamous Comrade leader.

Looks like the Brits are also opposed, well I'll leave it you

"The British Medical Association has said pregnant women should not be called "expectant mothers" as it could offend transgender people.

Instead, they should call them "pregnant people" so as not to upset intersex and transgender men, the union has said."

Screw Trump, even if you think he's right. History will disagree, just like everyone else does. Thanks Tim for saying something. Something stronger would have been appreciated but "we don't support this policy" is better than nothing.

Just seeing how this circus is viewed around the world.. We live in interesting times. :/

Yups.

Saved for posterity. I love the anti-Trump comments that fall apart over time. They're always good for a chuckle.

I just love how XXX opponents use facts, science, data and reason to try and win an argument. While XXX supporters simply repeat anything the Big Orange Leader tells them. Why even bother?

If you stopped labeling FOX News as a news channel 10 years ago, maybe you wouldn't be in this mess right now.

But more on topic: I'm surprised there are so many Trump fanboys on this forum.
^^ How completely and utterly ironic.

Single and most important fact? MSM lies directly TO your face and you lap it up like a good little doggy.

Yes, why even bother? Facts don't matter to your kind, it's quite sad that you're still so bitter that you lost. Oh wait, you claim you aren't even a US resident so you "didn't lose", which somehow, just doesn't quite fit based off your posting here as you seem quite involved in trashing Trump.

Have fun living a life being spoon fed BS by the MSM, it's clear now you can't think for yourself.

Is that like when people scream "racist, facist, unconstitutional and un-American" over an executive order that simply implements a provision of existing law?

Thought so.
You can't get more ironic than these clowns. They do exactly what they claim to defend.

Why would TC run for president? That's the silliest thing i've heard.

I get it. You don't think he should have his employee's back and stand up for them. Or communicate his views to employees via private company email.

Fortunately, because you apparently would not stand up for your employees and would roll over to trump's demands with the wind, you are not a CEO of one of the most successful companies in the world. You would fail miserably not looking out for your employees.

Hahahaha hahahaha stand up for his employees? Which are those, the select few in America he employs? Or the ones in other countries and the dirt cheap labour he pays to make his products?

That's the most hypocritical thing on this thread. Amd that's why YOU are not a CEO either, because you blinded easily by what seems an apparent arrogant spread of one persons opinion to his employees and see it as a good thing, whilst selectively ignoring the profits he makes by exploiting people in poverty.

You don't think Obamacare is oppressive? You don't think policies that crushed business expansion is oppressive? Interesting.
[doublepost=1485714577][/doublepost]

You can start with Obamacare.

That's the oppressive rules of Obama that halt the economy and make the inner cities burn?? Implementing Health care insurance? How the hell do think the rest of the world operates?

I'm so surprised what cry babies you are over health care insurance. Every developed country has it, except the US. Now you have. If you had a health issue, you'd be glad to have it. And if it's too expensive, take a good look at how your state implemented it. And ask to improve it. Instead of throwing it all away.

But now: Let's wait and see what the Big Orange Leader will propose instead. Cheap, affordable insurance for everybody that doesn't cause a deficit? Good luck.

It's actually getting a bit disturbing. The way the left is going is really detrimental to a free society. The sad thing is the don't realize the harm they are causing.

Please do. I'd put money on it.

Trump is not going to be remembered as a good president, or human for that matter. He's going to be remembered as the infirm, ego driven "mad king" that he is.

And people used to talk about Jobs' reality distortion field.

Dude. Seriously. How much? PM me. Heck, I wasn't even a big time Trump supporter, but I give him props for doing his JOB and what he said he'd do, which is far more than the last two clowns ever did.

It has nothing to do with left or right politics, but with common sense. Only narrow minded and misinformed people think in black and white terms.

Trump is a mentally ill and unstable even disturbed person, and I don"t think he'll last for four years in this mental condition. But by all means, continue with praising what in your eyes is your so called messiah by thinking he'll solve all your issues.

The nearby future will show who was right about him.

Figure of speech? "I would" - Not I will. I would, if I had money to spare on stupid stuff. If I trusted anyone enough to make that sort of wager. If I could justify that sort of crazy behaviour to my family, lol.

I'm SURE he'll be remembered as a nice guy by some people. Bad and/or misinformed people. He''s only truth-proof to his supporters, who are a minority even of the US population. He's a blithering imbecile to the rest of the world. He's not going to turn that around and prove to be a completely different person, and if you think he's capable of that you're as confused as he is.

Like Brexit?
Well, yes? Brexit is a total mess too. And?

Dude....for your information, Trump didn't do anything yet. He only signed controversial orders, created tensions worldwide, including American neighbors and continues to fight like a four years old by using the same attitude on his twitter account. That's all. Your situation has not been better one bit due of his policy's and I don't see any improvements in the near future other then more international tensions.

You sound a bit frustrated by framing the previous presidents as 'clowns' as if they also didn't improve your life. But we will see.

It's why our country is going down the drain. Both sides have become so arrogant and polarized that nothing is getting done. Unless you're the 1%, in which case you've been laughing all the way to the bank for years while the little people fight over propaganda.
I can see sometime in the not too far off future a country of Have's and Have Not's while AI takes over the low paying jobs and the "Little People" lose out. so sad

Here is what is frightening about the separation of wealth. I go to the outlet mall. I see a lot of lower income families strolling around. The baby mommas and baby daddies are decked out to the nines. Their 4 kids have on all under armour and Nike Jordan's and stuff like that. This stuff isn't cheap. I buy my kids shoes at Target or Payless and get clothes at reasonable prices that aren't pricey brands. And I am fairly sure my wife and I make more money than they do. I think so much of what you see in wealth disparity is the choices of lower income to not live as frugal and within their means. It's not the only reason but it certainly contributes.

How can you look at someone and know that they're lower income, but they are "decked out"? How are you fairly sure your family makes more money than they do? Serious question...

You literally have no idea how immigration works. Immigrants are the least likely group to rely on extended periods of government support and the fastest group to ascend income levels within a single generation. You're just butt hurt that someone from a foreign country makes more money than you.

The word immigration includes both illegal and legal immigration. While legal immigration may be as you say, illegal immigration certainly is not. Wake up please.

Dirt cheap labor? Your ignorance clearly shows you've never worked in silicon valley or likely even the tech industry. The many immigrant engineers Apple and other companies employ here make the same wages and have the same benefits. The reason they are hired is because there's a shortage of highly qualified engineers in silicon valley and the competition to hire and retain the best is stiff with many of the largest tech companies having large operations here such as google, Microsoft, eBay, twitter, Apple, Atmel, IBM, Intel, AMD, Nvidia, Tesla, Oracle, HP, Texas Instruments, Lockheed, Salesforce, NetApp, Juniper, Cisco, and on and on. This is from working in the valley here as an engineer for many years along side both US and immigrant engineers and technical staff.

Perhaps you can you can talk about your direct and relevant experience on this subject?

Other tech company CEOs are following Cook and standing up as well. Most CEOs of successful companies know that taking care of their employees pays huge dividends on retention, satisfaction, and productivity. This not only applies to immigrant technical staff, but to US-born as well.

I don't expect to you to understand the above having zero direct experience. Feel free to blather on, though, as if you do - that is expected.

Yeah, fighting poverty by banning muslims..... that helps right... any idea how stupid that sounds?

That's besides the point and irrelevant it's Tim Cook his view on Apple what people are debating, not if everyone agrees. Trump method by banning muslims from traveling to America is a racist act and purely a symbolic gesture towards his followers to show that he's a tough leader. It's also unethical by refusing refugees from countries like Syria. Refugees which are the result of wars commited by a previous American president to begin with.

That's right, move those goal posts and claim my point was irrelevent despite you using the same point in the opposite manner when it suits your own argument...
And penalising companies for outsourcing jobs is how you can fight the poverty, force the, to employ people in their own countries, it's not rocket science.
As for the Muslim thing, I can see the reasons behind it. He has also only permanently banned one country which is nothing new I don't think?

No you are just ignoring the facts I'm afraid. You are enclosed in thinking America only, typical I guess, my point was in the global view, you obviously missed that because the last time I checked Apple doesn't make a thing in America! Oh I guess they assemble the Mac Pro there.

Plus my blatant comment about other country's. You continue in your little world if it's easier and ignore the wider global platform where Apples products are actually made and the supplies are sourced.

Yet they still want to continue to do business in China which violates human rights.

It's throughout the western world.

Canada's Comrade Trudeau has on more than one occasion expressed his admiration for China's basic dictatorship. When quizzed about China's human rights violations, Comrade Trudeau responds that he always "scolds" them, in private.

hell, here's a video of a Chinese official lambasting a Canadian journalist while Comrade Dion, Canada's former Foreign Affairs Minister, stood by

The middle class is broke because the top 1% keep increasing their share of the country's wealth at the expense of workers. Blaming immigrants and the poor is a diversion tactic that billionaires (like Trump and his cabinet picks) use to distract the middle class from the real cause of wealth inequality. Meanwhile, they will introduce laws, like cutting taxes for the rich and corporations, and chipping away at public schools and affordable healthcare, that will cause the middle class to sink even lower. The irony is that the uneducated portion of the middle class is who voted them in, all because Trump was able to take advantage of their fear of immigrants and Muslims. The whole thing is like a tragi-farce.

Partly correct, except for the following. The problems are not caused by the rich, they don't control the laws. The problem are caused by the political elites, both Republican and Democrat. But we have had 8 years of Democrat rule and its no better. You should be asking yourself why? The answer you should find is that the political elite's are in fact destroying the middle class. Trump is not a political elite yet. He may turn into one in the next year or so. But so far he is a complete outsider. So step outside of your indoctrination, apply some common sense, and think a little bit independently. Its really not that hard.

If we don't cut taxes for corporation then jobs will continue to leave the country. If we don't cut EPA and other gov stupid rules, then more jobs are going to leave the country. If we don't cut government then we will have no money for anything. If we don't start getting much smarter than the Democrats have been the last 8 years then instead of 40% of the country on welfare we'll have 80% and when we do, there will be no jobs and everyone will be poor except the rich, who will have moved overseas.

The rich will always have power, but we depend on our elected officials to watch our for us and that has failed. There is and has never been any country where the rich have not yielded power. So there are good rich and bad rich and you need to learn how to tell the difference. To think that ranting against people like Trump just because he is rich is a good move, you have to suspend all common sense. It takes riches to create companies, it takes riches to create jobs, it takes riches to have money left over for humanitarian efforts. If you are against all rich people then there is no way that you could support Hillary or Obama. Both became rich using taxes. Trump did not use taxes to become rich. Thank about that for a little more than 2 seconds and things should become clearer.

Nice try and diversion/deflection. The subject was about TC standing up for the immigrant engineers employed by Apple in the US and being subject to trump's immigration ban, with your retort he's exploiting those immigrant workers with dirt cheap wages.

"you obviously missed that because the last time I checked Apple doesn't make a thing in America!"

Yet Apple employs tens of thousands of engineers here, many immigrants, right here in the San Francisco Bay Area in silicon valley. You probably don't understand that most things Apple manufactures (via overseas contract manufacturing companies) and develops (such as hardware, software, services, etc) are designed by engineers and other technical staff, the majority being in the US. That bolsters my point above about your ignorance.

Again, please relate your direct experience and qualifications supporting your statements.
