I can see sometime in the not too far off future a country of Have's and Have Not's while AI takes over the low paying jobs and the "Little People" lose out. so sad

If you haven't read Margaret Atwood's MaddAddam trilogy, check it out. Near future "speculative fiction" that really nails it.

Partly correct, except for the following. The problems are not caused by the rich, they don't control the laws. The problem are caused by the political elites, both Republican and Democrat. But we have had 8 years of Democrat rule and its no better. You should be asking yourself why? The answer you should find is that the political elite's are in fact destroying the middle class. Trump is not a political elite yet. He may turn into one in the next year or so. But so far he is a complete outsider. So step outside of your indoctrination, apply some common sense, and think a little bit independently. Its really not that hard.

If we don't cut taxes for corporation then jobs will continue to leave the country. If we don't cut EPA and other gov stupid rules, then more jobs are going to leave the country. If we don't cut government then we will have no money for anything. If we don't start getting much smarter than the Democrats have been the last 8 years then instead of 40% of the country on welfare we'll have 80% and when we do, there will be no jobs and everyone will be poor except the rich, who will have moved overseas.

The rich will always have power, but we depend on our elected officials to watch our for us and that has failed. There is and has never been any country where the rich have not yielded power. So there are good rich and bad rich and you need to learn how to tell the difference. To think that ranting against people like Trump just because he is rich is a good move, you have to suspend all common sense. It takes riches to create companies, it takes riches to create jobs, it takes riches to have money left over for humanitarian efforts. If you are against all rich people then there is no way that you could support Hillary or Obama. Both became rich using taxes. Trump did not use taxes to become rich. Thank about that for a little more than 2 seconds and things should become clearer.

Maybe 8 years of Obama would have resulted in more if Congres was willing to do something.

And Trump may not be political elite, but he definitely is elite, having no clue about the struggles of everyday Americans, nor does he have any interest in improving their situation. Proof: look at his cabinet.

And now he will spend million of tax payers money on his latest crazy idea: that millions of illegals and death people voted. Money well spent!

Now THAT is a statement we should all support. Excluding others is as unAmerican as it is possible to get.

I’m no fan of Trump’s hypocrisies and quirks, but I support a ban on visitors from countries that publicly denounce individual rights, democracy, religious tolerance, or harbor groups that want to harm the U.S. The ban does not preclude muslims per se. Muslims from friendly nations are still able to apply for a visa.

There is nothing un-American about refusing citizenship or access to persons who don’t pledge allegiance to our way of life. It is part of the routine naturalization process that immigrants have to complete. It’s no small matter that many muslims come here to enjoy a more prosperous existence, or attain a superior education, but privately support the agendas of the Jihadists.

Frankly, if we encourage everyone who shares our values to come here to live, who will be left to improve the countries they left?

Did you stop and think that maybe the great majority of those people are traveling to the US to escape all that?

The US brags endlessly that it is the land of freedom and opportunity. That's why people want to go to the US.

So, did he support the summary execution of foreign nationals via drone? How about US citizens?

Why does Cook have to say anything at all? Is he going to make a statement about every Executive Order now?

Guess... you're a trumpian?

The us has a maniac as a princess in charge. Nothing makes sense for this hijo de p.....

Love how the word racist gets thrown out there in a so often accusatory manner . the accusers do it solely to close down any further discussion.

A bit like when people use 'the left' and 'liberals' because they strangely think it's some form of insult that makes a different opinion somewhat devoid of any merit.

Erm, come to think of it, haven't you done that?

It's amazing how 20 years of Fox News has turned "liberal" into one of the worst pejoratives in the English language.

Of course. That is part of the problem. Much of what made America what it is, was earned by those already living here. Within our borders, people fought and sacrificed for changes in popular opinion. It’s too easy for people to run away from their native country to come here and enjoy what was forged by others. They need to stay in their homeland and fight for the same qualities there. All we’re doing, is enabling them to be pacifists, while the people they fled gain even more control.

If it were Obama doing this, no one would flinch. Like when he screwed the Cubans on his way out the door.
He simply enforced current immigration law and removed a special exemption they had that others did not. Now they have to follow the law like everyone else.

I prefer the term 'progressive' over 'liberal', which is too close to 'libertarian' - a different thing.

I don't understand the controversy. Trump's EO has put some travelling Apple employees in jeopardy. Like CEOs of other companies, Cook is rightfully responding as he should, and perfectly within his rights to clarify his position.

In the UK, there's a huge pressure on PM May to come out and straight-up denounce this action. There's a good chance Trump will have to say bye-bye to his Royal state visit, if this petition is anything to go by:

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/171928

The Trump Ego is gonna hate that!

I think America is about the only country in the western world where it's perceived to be bad being liberal. Most of Europe is liberal and I'm proud of that because it shows how far we've evolved from the split societies of 70 years ago.

Cool. Where'd your ancestors come from? Did they spontaneously appear through some immaculate American conception, or did they travel to America for that opportunity?

Also, it's easy to say "why don't they just stay in their country and improve things there?" when you're sitting cozy at home not under a very real threat of death. These migrants are coming from places where you'll get killed for drawing any sort of attention to yourself.

"Liberals" have done that all by themselves. My God, I never could have imagined the infantile response the past few months. It is one of the most pathetic displays in the history of the human race.

I just can't for the life of me understand why anyone would object to this. We are at war with Islam and those people are trying to get into our country to carry out acts of terrorism. It is only logical to limit their entrance into our country until we have a handle on the situation. Do you think that Roosevelt allowed Germans and Japanese to freely enter our country during WWII? If this was peace time and the Islam faith didn't want us all dead, I'd say let everyone in through the proper channels.
Actually we are not at war with Islam but with radicals who use it as an excuse to gain power; anymore than we are ar war with white Christians because some commit terrorist acts or advocate the overthrough of the US and profess. a Christian basis.
As for WW II it is an appropriate comparison because our actions caused refugees to die since we did not allow them entry and turned them away at our border.

"Infantile" was the Republican reaction to a black man being elected president. A man who went on to have 8 whole years with no scandals, but constantly being dogged to "prove" his Americaness.

The left wing reaction to a long-known slimeball being elected is pretty justified, especially as the results start to play out in front of us.

Like it or not, immigration and refugee acceptance is out of control. American is fundamentally broke (no money). We do not have the money to continue to provide free homes, groceries, iPhones, etc. to anyone that shows up at the door regardless of how humane it seems. Its time for the free ride to stop or at least be reduced to the really needy. I think that is what this pause is all about.

The previous administration wanted as many people as possible that were totally dependent on government for everything. It had nothing to do with compassion, and everything to do with votes. It was how they got elected. The middle class is bing sucked down the drain in order to provide poverty class support to everyone that wants it. That is not good for any of us natural citizens. Almost every other country in the world limits immigration and refugees and the ones that don't are in real trouble right now.

There are other facts to consider. Regardless of political affiliation, Obama was nicknamed, "Deporter in Chief." Also, a lot of what is pissing people off is that the order effects green card holders as well. There are people that were already vetted.

On the other hand, let's take this quote from Wikipedia:

"In 1951, Mohammad Mosaddegh was elected as the prime minister. He became enormously popular in Iran, after he nationalized Iran's petroleum industry and oil reserves. He was deposed in the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, an Anglo-American covert operation that marked the first time the US had overthrown a foreign government during the Cold War."

So until Iran overthrows the US government and introduces Prince Charles as the new ruler of the USA, the USA cannot really complain about anything Iran does.

Yes, let's take something that happened 70 years ago and use that as a litmus test.
The U.S. did many stupid things over the years but we are discussing present day Iran and the religious zealots running that country are murderous scum. Period.
