I wouldn't worry too much about the US economy becoming ruined. It's already in ruins.
But Tim lining up behind professional criminals do rise questions.
You could talk about how Trump is hiring Russians to hack the DNC, or how he declared bankruptcy so he wouldn't have to pay his contractors the money he owed them, or his racist xenophobic remarks, or how he supported a kkk candidate, or how he can't borrow money in this country anymore because he is such a poor risk...
Where do you live? The US economy is doing much better than 8 years ago. Also, he's supporting Clinton, not the criminal Trump.
Tim is absolutely within his right as a private citizen to support any politicians and causes that he wants.
However, people are just as within their rights to take actions against people who support things they disagree with.
Where were you people when the home renovation show got cancelled because the hosts had contributed to support keeping marriage between one man and one woman. Didn't here cries of "they are doing it as private citizens" then.

Well, he's doing it as a private citizen. I'm not hot on either candidate personally, but it's not like he's representing Apple in an official context.

Why can't people actually talk about what happened and not exaggerate it wildly.
1. Trump didn't ask anyone to do anything.
2. The servers in question are not still on line.
3. Hillary claimed that missing messages contained stuff about yoga and Chelsea's wedding.
4. You are listening to liberals characterization about his business dealings. If Trump really regularly didn't pay contractors, who would continue working for him? Do some research about all those law suits and see how many times Trump actually ended up losing.

Somehow the political arena is not his environment, another alternative is that he might have been forced into a position he don't want to be in.
At one point there will be conflicts of interest between a federal government that insists on access to all private data in real time and drives legislation in that direction and Apple who has built privacy protection into its brand and long term strategy.

But the fact is that he did screw lots of contractors out of money, while still profiting from those same ventures. And it wasn't a one off mistake, he has a pattern of doing business this way.

He quit eating Heinz ketchup because of who John Kerry was married to.
If so, his phone choices will be severely limited since Google seems to be in favor of Clinton as well. Windows phones for him!
