I find it humorous Zuck spoke out. He's only slightly less evil than Trump. Slightly.

As for the US, all I can say is register to vote. As a reminder, 39% of US registered voters did not vote in the 2016 presidential election.

Register now and crush the GOP in the elections next year and then vote in 2020. Whoever wins will have much work to do to undo the damage.

If voting solved anything, they wouldn't let us do it. "America" is doomed. All that is left is the US Government and its subjects.

It's not even about government. Government is theater. When 60 odd people control half the planet's wealth and nearly 4 billion people have a net worth less than a few thousand dollars, its pretty obvious what's going on. All of this nasty partisan politics is designed to divide and distract the intellectually challenged.

Not even close to how Obama crushed McCain and Romney.
Oh, or when Grant crushed Greeley in 1872? What a trouncing!

Who cares. Obama didn't win by large margins. Trump didn't win by large margins either. But he crushed Clinton spirit. He crushed all those lefty snowflakes dreams. He crushed all those new reporters preconceived notions.

Memories.

But you're above all that, right?

Hmmm..So according to the Paris agreement, China and India get to build and run low cost coal power plants but the U.S does not....Sounds like Trump did the right thing...Besides we have clean coal technology that produces almost zero emissions....Funny, not talk of the dangers of nuclear power from Cook which is a very real environmental threat..Just look at Chernobyl.if Tim Cook was really concerned about the environment that's what his focus would be on....

Again, he didn't crush anything. He won by a much slimmer margin than Obama beat either of his opponents. You want to talk crushing? Compare the popular and electoral vote counts for Obama v. McCain to Trump v. Clinton. That's crushing your opponent!

As for Trump, the popular vote counts in the swing states that allowed him to win were incredibly close. Hardly a stunning victory. No argument that he won but he was running against perhaps the weakest and most despised candidate in modern history. And even with that he just barely beat her.

Nothing to brag about. And certainly not a crushing defeat by any objective measure.

The Democrats only have themselves to blame. They put loyalty to Clinton, Inc. above country and our uncultured, multiple bankruptcy, failure of a business man, mediocre entertainer, dimwit President is our collective punishment.

trump is right. we don't know who is actually getting $400 billion dollars. thats too much money. its time to stop American citizens from paying for everything

So you agree the rich shouldn't have to pay more taxes? America has benefited by exploiting poorer nations, just as the rich exploit the poor - remember, it's zero sum - so the haves should bear extra responsibility.

Furthermore, nature doesn't recognize man-made demarcations. Climate change will not discrimate; America will not be spared; it will affect us all which is why every country on the planet signed the accord with the exception of Nicaragua and Syria... oh, and the US.

At the end of the day, man-made constructs like America, money, jobs... these things will seem inconsequential when all the things we take for granted today, like potable water, fresh air and food are in short supply.

Such a stupid, STUPID decision. There are now 194 countries who are part of the accord, and 3 that are not: Syria, Nicaragua, and the United States - and Nicaragua only refused to sign because it didn't go far *enough*.
I was hung up on that, but I realized the deal probably didn't mean the same thing for all the countries that signed it. So there's more to it than that. Trump claims the deal was unfair for the U.S. That doesn't necessarily mean we shouldn't agree to it. I don't know what to think because I haven't read it.

It's not zero sum. That was how people used to think in the 1400s, and they developed protectionist economies. There is advancement. The poor and the middle class are better off now than the rich were in the past.

He didn't crush anything? The news says otherwise.....

All these CEOs should have encouraged Obama to push this to the senate. That is how our country does treaties. Any treaty one man does is undone by one man (or woman). Obama decided he should do this on his own without turning it over to the senate, so he made certain that any president that wanted to could withdraw. So here we are.
Congress never would have agreed to this treaty and Obama knew it. Bad for America.

What is the obsession with coal, clean or not? Meanwhile China and Germany are becoming renewable powerhouses. They are building the next generation's economy while we worry about putting a handful of coal miners back to work. How stupid can we be? It's only a matter of time, and at this point not much, before renewables are more cost effective than coal and natural gas, clean or not. And we all know what happens then. We could be positioning ourselves for a bright, prosperous future, but instead we're looking backward while giving China the opportunity of a lifetime.

Good news is it takes a long time to get out of the Paris Climate Agreement, and the final step is after the next election.

Countries can't withdraw until three years after the Paris Agreement went into effect.
The Paris Agreement entered into force on November 4, 2016; so this means the US would have to stay with it until November 2019. After that, the rules mandate a one-year notice period, which would mean a withdrawal in late 2020; after the next presidential election on November 3, 2020.

Today, the Paris Climate Agreement is polling at over 70% in favor with voters (indicating Republicans are split on it, with Democrats and Independents strongly in favor), and well over 50% in favor among the whole US population. This will be a campaign issue in 2020, and Trump has set himself and his party up to be on the wrong side of it.
People who are on the side of it don't understand it. They are being fooled by the media and partial understanding. Most people do not understand the real issues.
Most people don't know that the earth was actually warmer during the times of the Roman Empire.

The human body can take care of itself. We don't need filtered water. The human body has been taking care of itself for years.

You're right. We don't need filtered water. We need clean, drinkable water. The earth has been providing clean, naturally "filtered" water long before the Paris "Agreement", and will continue to provide, clean, drinkable water for thousands more years to come, with or without us, or the Paris "Agreement".

So is it about saving the planet or making money. You just said that renewables "will" happen. So the planet is saved. Great.

A very sad day for our beautiful country and the world. May people will needlessly suffer as a result of this irrational action by president Trump. Many people will suffer.

In many ways I am glad that I am near 80 and will not live to see the troubled times to come, but my grandchildren and my great grandchildren will. Very sad.
Yeah, they're going to see global warming just like the last ice age. Your kids won't be able to notice a single difference.

This is the saddest day in American politics since the assassination of MLK. If you don't think that, I doubt your sanity.
Every day president Trump removes Democrat and liberal priorities I grow happier and happier climate change is a hoax

The only people suffering are those of us having to listen to people whine about this. The Paris Accord took money from the US and gave it to other countries. It global welfare. That's all.

And during Trumps tech meeting , no doubt Cook has very little to say.... mondays keynote better be awesome Tim.

Also Tim feel free to contribute billions in un paid taxes to environmental initiatives .

And as this is not my first post on this. I care for the environment very much and support the Paris pact, I just dont need advice from some wannabe greedy tech exec who cannot update my Mac Pro which is embarrassing by 2017 standards . Nor will he even comment on the pro segment, of his own products and had the time to constantly get involved in social issues . Do you core job cook!!

Who cares what supporters felt? I'm sure I could find some pithy little articles about McCain and Romney supporters crying in their beer on election night.

That doesn't mean anyone crushed anything.

It's about the vote count, end of story. Trump barely edged out Clinton in key swing states. The electoral college vote count was much closer than Obama v. McCain or Obama v. Romney.

California, the state with the largest population and strongest economy, as usual, was held hostage to the stupid masses in the middle and south of the country, all those red states that take more than they contribute while relying on liberal California dollars to prop them up. Oh the hypocrisy.

It won't happen. Tim cares about money. He'd eat 1000 homeless orphans if it would increase Apples stock price 1/4 of a percent.

I don't care if he won by 1 ****ing vote. Trump is in the Oval Office. That's all that matters.

You could argue that the Paris A cord is Hillarys fault. If she had campaigned harder and hadn't been a lying cheating piece of **** she may have won and kept America in the accord.

Thanks Hillary. We owe you one.
