Fact is though he never read the agreement. He fully believes he can pull out now.

It is unbelievable how people in the US would vote for an uneducated person with zero general knowledge.

This guy has literally no clue and doesn't even understand most of the topics he needs to have an opinion about.

I don't think it is exaggerated when people say he gets the news explained by Fox. This guy is seriously limited in his intellectual capabilities and I don't mean this in a disrespectful way.

The U.S. can pull out.
It's not a treaty.
It was never ratified as required by the Constitution.
Executive Orders can be as easily undone as they were done since other Presidents have a pen and a phone too.

What is the point? For some reason, women don't want to share restrooms with men, using both terms to refer to the sex and not the gender. Maybe in case you see one naked? IDK. As a man, I cannot answer why, but I'd rather have urinals in my bathroom because it's more convenient.

Most of these bathroom laws specify that people must use the bathroom of their birth sex, regardless of sex reassignment surgery. So the guy I posted would need to use the woman's restroom.

But let's get real. Trans people, whether they've had sex reassignment or not, aren't pervs. They are some of the bravest people around, having to put up with relentless bigotry and judgment for simply trying to be themselves. No stupid bathroom law is going to stop a perv from putting on a dress and going into the woman's restroom. The only thing these laws do is demonize trans people and make them targets.

You trump supporters should stop buying Apple products.

If you support this planet then stand by Apple if not don't be a hypocrite. Don't buy Apple because we don't want you

The orange man should pack his suitcase and go home. He's good at shouting, insulting people, grabbing women, but nothing else. Time that Tim and people like him speak up.

What are you talking about?! President Trump has done more good for this country in his first 100+ days then Obama did in his stinking 2 terms. God I'm getting so sick of you "tolerant" democrats. You're only tolerant of people that share your views.

Well the CEO of Exxon wanted us to stay in the Paris agreement. So did the CEO of Goldman Sachs. I hardly consider them radical, liberal, leftist or whatever other divisive and counterproductive terms you care to fling around.

But aren't they big bad evil greedy corporations? Or is that only when they don't agree with the sociali...I mean climate change agenda?

With sex reassignment, I would say use the bathroom of whichever is your current sex. But Obama's law says to use the restroom of the gender the person identifies as. I don't think it matters that much anyway as long as they don't go taking our urinals away.

I can find plenty of data showing that they benefit more from federal taxes than we do, which I'd expect since they're poorer but pay similar rates, but I don't see any reason to think they can't exist without the Coasts or that California is better off without them. Most likely, if California secedes, both sides are hurt.
[doublepost=1496381592][/doublepost]
I don't know who that guy is, but I have two questions:
1. What genitals does he have? Cause that's the issue when he goes to the bathroom, not his gender.
2. Why does this need to be a federal law anyway?
I'm not arguing about California seceding or that the US and California wouldn't be at least temporarily hurt. That didn't stop Britain from leaving the EU.

The fact is the blue states are the ones paying the bills while everyone else is grandstanding claiming they are fiscally conservative and want to balance the budget when they can't actually afford to pay for anything even themselves. How about first make some money so you can help pay for the food you eat? The bottom line is self professed conservatives cant afford to live without the money the blue states are generously giving to them.

I think Trump should cut off all these programs and do a blanket tax cut lets see if it makes these people's lives better when they can't afford to eat or get turned away at the hospital or doctor's office. No one told these conservatives to fill out the mountains of paper work required to get all these benefits they are getting like Obamacare and Welfare.

When are these self proclaimed fiscal conservatives going to put their money where there mouth is and just avoid signing up for Welfare checks and free to the poor Obamacare? They are talking about other people getting government handouts and not balancing budgets but then we learn they are the ones getting government handouts too adding debt to the balance sheet. Democrats aren't perfect but at least they are consistent on budget issues.

Yeah ok then we shouldn't use any tech product then?! So we have to be punished because of the entire tech industry being leftist "tolerant" progressives?! See I'll still buy Apple products because I truly love their products even though I don't agree with their politics. But oh boy if anyone disagrees with the progressive thinking than boycott those companies. How about the whole chik-fil-a debacle? Yeah so tolerant.

And the North Carolina law said to use the bathroom of your birth sex. The whole issue is stupid. It's a culture war tactic designed to divide and alienate. It's an overreach either way in my opinion because this was never a problem in the first place.

Reading through all of these shouting matches has been very annoying. I've never seen such a minor issue blown up as if it's the most important thing ever. Being a part of this agreement is 90% just a symbolic pledge that means nothing, with a side of financial aid for other countries. Those doing their part to reduce negative effects on the environment can still do so; nothing changes except who will be providing "x" amount of financial aid to some of the member countries.

I don't see how putting up with hatred makes you not a perv. I mean, everyone hates pervs, and they're still pervs. If anything, being exiled from society makes you more likely to become a perv, but I wouldn't draw any conclusions about how many trans people are pervs anyway. And I don't even care because in the end, I really don't see how this is a proper use of federal power, nor do I care what gender people choose to identify as, as long as they don't throw a fit when I accidentally use the wrong pronoun or try to make it so I can't take a quick pee without touching a stall and everything. And they usually don't.

Plenty of people who were born before me and lived through the Cold War must have thought the world would end with nuclear bombs.
They thought the world could end with nuclear bombs, and they were right that there was danger. They were lucky, or too reasonable, and the USSR ran out of money. No damage done except a few thousand missiles that need to be taken care off.

Global warming is different. It does to damage, and the longer you wait, the worse it gets. And it doesn't just stop when people change how they do things. After that it will still get worse for a while until it gets better.

I agree with this. It should not be an issue. Applying federal laws is not going to make it a non-issue. Better to let the states deal with it and likely drop their laws in the end.

This is the saddest day in American politics since the assassination of MLK. If you don't think that, I doubt your sanity.

The assassination of Robert was far worse, due to it's implications. MLK made his point and a huge difference. When Robert F Kennedy was assassinated, the cabal stole this country from the people, for good. He became a candidate far into the elections and still would have won. JFK made mistakes, but he was clearly the people's president. Robert would have been, as well. The federal reserve would have been abolished. And then they killed JFK Jr. Because he was going to run. The killing of the Kennedys, is by far, the worst political series of events, possibly in the history of man kind. The fed res act of 1913 is surely up there in the top ten.

Isn't Tim just proving that you don't need a treaty or accord to fight this? Companies are doing it on their own. The government doesn't need to be involved.

They need to be involved just like we need laws and cops on the street to "regulate" people. Sure if their were no laws or police not all of us would cause mayhem and murder, but for those that do, they are necessary.

Just because companies like Apple care and are environmental friendly, doesn't mean they all are. Their will always be industry run by evil men such as the Koch brothers who not only don't give two ***** about the environment, but are actively lobbying to stop renewable energy like solar panels. Therefore the government needs to be involved to police the corporations.

I'm guessing you don't know any trans people. I don't think it's a proper use of federal power either. Just as I don't think it's a proper use of state power to legislate which bathroom someone must use. The whole issue is stupid and was cooked up by right wing culture warriors to energize their fear motivated base.

All these CEOs should have encouraged Obama to push this to the senate. That is how our country does treaties. Any treaty one man does is undone by one man (or woman). Obama decided he should do this on his own without turning it over to the senate, so he made certain that any president that wanted to could withdraw. So here we are.
Yep. Further, it was done by a lame duck President in the opposition party to the legislature. If it was so important and great for us he should have sent it to the Senate. Then when it failed, the voters would obviously hand the senate back to the democrats...

The problem of course is that it would have failed in the Senate and been of no consequence to the elections anyway.

So many idiots in this board... showing why and how Trump was elected...

So your life starts and ends with iphone and macbook pro? Have you guys been to India and China where the result of relentless industrialization and capitalism without an ounce of regard for environment left the entire country as borderline uninhabitable? You want to start and end your day wearing masks? Go right ahead.

And if you think people at a position where Tim Cook sits should just stay on the business and not delve into politics, then you should as well focus on your day job (if and big if you have one) and give up your rights to vote.

It's disgraceful that this issue is even considered "politics," that some are so wilfully blind as to think the long term well being of our species and our planet is just another issue that can be debated back and forth and used as a political cudgel, as if the science isn't clear and the dangers aren't real.

It's a true embarrassment that not everyone is behind doing anything and everything we can do, as the richest and most powerful nation in the world. Even more shameful is how Paris was just a tiny first step, and we couldn't even make that.

Ok smart guy, explain to us how this agreement would have done ANYTHING of great measure...

It's funny your types pick and chose facts. What about this: https://science.house.gov/news/pres...nfirms-colleagues-manipulated-climate-records

Is this some conspiracy theory?

Educate us, all mighty global savior!

I do know trans people, and none of them are obvious perverts, but I don't know any obvious perverts at all. Both groups are so small that you shouldn't be making assumptions about them based on anecdotal evidence, but no, I've heard this claim again and again that being trans makes you not a perv (or at least less likely). Whether or not that's true is irrelevant, but I consider the claim arrogant, and it sounds like the other claim we are taught in school that people of racial minorities can't be racist.

And I don't know why you're blaming the right wing for making the fuss. The state laws are old, and Obama introduced the new federal law. It's clear who picked it as a political issue in the past few years.

Agreed. But the federal effort came in response to these stupid state laws. I get your point but I also feel strongly that discrimination is flat out wrong and forcing a petite little trans woman to use the men's room, or a buff trans man to use the woman's restroom, creates more danger than allowing that person to use the bathroom he or she feels is appropriate based on his or her gender identity. I also see these laws as a form of psychological warfare cooked up by those good Christian moral crusaders who always need an enemy to keep the faithful in line and I find that deeply offensive.

It's because these laws try to demonized trans people, simple as that. The federal law was a reaction to the state laws. FBI stats don't lie. The vast majority of pervs are white heterosexual men. These laws do nothing to protect anyone. They simply demonize a group of people who are by every measure the least pervy among us.

The thing is, the US would have and likely still will meet any obligations we agreed to in the Paris accords. This really doesn't change anything at all so it's not worth getting so upset about. People are aware of the need to be cleaner with our environment and are making moves to go clean. Leaving this "deal" doesn't really matter.
What it does do is not hold a growing nation like the USA to draconian cuts in energy use that can't even be met by shrinking nations.

We were required to use about 1/2 the energy per capita than we did in 70s. Not likely possible without outlawing many technologies that make huge swaths of our nation livable on a year round basis.
