Maybe Donald Trump also should have stayed out of politics and focused on his many successful enterprises. I'm sure he could have helped Cook steer Apple in a more profitable direction. In contrast to the Apple people, Trump is a self made man who started from next to nothing and built a world spanning business from scratch. From the darkest corners of the USA to the faraway pillars of Moscow.

Politics and business do go hand in hand.
What? Trump couldn't possibly helped anyone business wise. That's why no one in NYC will do business with him.

It's disgraceful that this issue is even considered "politics," that some are so wilfully blind as to think the long term well being of our species and our planet is just another issue that can be debated back and forth and used as a political cudgel, as if the science isn't clear and the dangers aren't real.

It's a true embarrassment that not everyone is behind doing anything and everything we can do, as the richest and most powerful nation in the world. Even more shameful is how Paris was just a tiny first step, and we couldn't even make that.

The facts about what makes this bad for the USA are out there for those that want them. This is not about climate change and everything about it being a horrible deal for the USA. Period.

IF nobody in NY will do business with him- he probably got the better of them on a deal. Now he's getting the better of the deals with the world FOR the US citizens. Sounds great to me!
If YOU think you are saving the world by driving a Prius (on your way to your private jet) - go ahead- just don't dictate what I drive.

All these CEOs should have encouraged Obama to push this to the senate. That is how our country does treaties. Any treaty one man does is undone by one man (or woman). Obama decided he should do this on his own without turning it over to the senate, so he made certain that any president that wanted to could withdraw. So here we are.

Two words. Republican obstructionism.

We're here largely because the Republicans in Congress put us here. Their hate for ordinary people, common sense laws and collective well-being is outdone only by their love for special interests, money in politics, profiteering war and religious protectionism that is based on deeply flawed morality.

But hey... Let us blame the black guy and the woman. God knows the old, rich, white men could no wrong.

By your logic, if no one will do business with him in New York "because he got the better of them on a deal" and now he is working to get "a better of the deals with the world," then the next outcome would be that no one in the world would want to do business with the U.S.

We live in an interconnected, global society. When the world doesn't do business with a country it's called "economic sanctions" and it works extremely well in crippling that country's economy.

Anyway... you'll have plenty of time to ponder these issues when you are in the unemployment and food stamp line, should he succeed before he's impeached.

I'm getting real sick of hearing Tim's politics. Trying out the new Android Blackberry KEYone right now . I know one defector won't hurt Apple, but the number of people sick of his globalists socialist crap is growing and growing..

BAHAHAHA yea right. A lot more people are choosing to stay with Apple because of their socially-responsible policies than are defecting to Blackberry. Blackberry?? You've got to be kidding. Next you'll tell me people are defecting to the Motorola StarTac in protest.

Always bringing race and sex into the argument. Cute and inappropriate.

You must be one of those Antifa Nazis. That's helpful. Violence and race-baiting always works, so keep it up.

The future is alternative energy regardless of the Paris agreement.

Instead of trying to sustain coal mining jobs that kill people, there should be training programs to transition them to emerging alternative energy technology.

The Blackberry KEYone just sold out in it's first day on Amazon yesterday...

We'll probably find out just how great those deals are when the FBI investigation is concluded. Trump might have to flee the country to avoid making them anymore.

You need far more things from California than you know.

Half the food you buy is from California.

All of your tech is designed there.

In the end, California has leverage over you. You have no choice.
You understand that if another state gives better tax break, these tech companies will abandon California in one day! Look at Musk what he did with Gigafactory. He went to Nevada. Didn't care about California even thought California helped every possible way to make Tesla viable!

I know people say that Tim Cook should stay out of politics. I think Tim Cook should stay in politics. In fact, Cook should stay in politics full-time so that someone else who actually cares about innovation can become the CEO of Apple.

I own Apple Stock and it has been the best investment ever....had many of you invested in Apple instead of a new iPhone ever 6 months...you would have made some good money for your retirement etc....for the price of an iPhone 7 you could buy about six shares of stock...and watch your money grow....the iphone 7 will only depreciate in value.

While I may not disagree with Cook's take on the Paris Accord, I do think he's being hypocritical by making computers that get harder and harder to repair and are impossible to upgrade (and thus extend their useful life), but criticizing others for not being green. And yes, I know about all of Apple's green initiatives....

Let's not forgot the bigger picture. Computers are *transforming*. It may be easy to apply the "repairability" argument to in order to make a statement, but how factual is it? We know that Macs are far more reliable than the average PC over its lifetime, requiring less repairs. We know that components are getting smaller and smaller and more sophisticated. We know that less materials are being used to build our devices. We know that Apple is adhering closely to environmental policies in product manufacturing, stores, and data center operations. We know that the new Apple Park is designed with a goal of using 100% environmentally-friendly energy sources.

User-accessible repairability is just one goal that Apple could have, but not necessarily one that fits well into the larger picture.

Apple is making strides on many fronts, and if user repairability is one of the casualties, then I support them. I still believe we need to hold Apple to that high standard, even when they are excelling at it.

Why? He can accomplish more by working in both areas. If you're not happy with his politics and/or Apple products, you have other options. Bye. Isn't it great to live in the same free country as Tim?

He had to start going overseas for loans because none of the banks in the US would issue loans to a deadbeat who declared bankruptcy multiple times....

He went there for energy costs (abundant solar) and cheap land, don't be daft.

Article VI of the US Constitution says otherwise: "This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land;"

He shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur;
- Constitution of the United States, Art. II, Sec. 2

This was never put to the senate. As the senate did not consent. No treaty exists.

When Tim Cook pays my electric bill or pays the 20% increase the Paris deal would have added to every American family's bills, then he will be taken seriously. Companies like Apple can afford the Paris agreement. The average worker cannot.
Oh really? So you're starving and have no TV or electronic devices? Stop crying about your electric bill when other countries have true poverty and rising water levels. Think about something else besides propping up obsolete American workers that will be replaced by robots and automation anyway.

Talk about drinking the Kool-Aid. You do realize that Trump is a marketing genius with little to no assets, right? He doesn't own anything except his name which he puts on buildings for a fee. He just makes deals and bankrupts businesses and soon...countries.

Go light a trashcan on fire. It's working!

Race and sexism play a large role in our society. That image of Trump signing an executive order to limit women's access to reproductive healthcare, while surrounded 100% by old, white man, was very telling. And if you argue that race is not a problem in our society then you really should consider crawling out from underneath that rock.

The political and economic powers in this country have been largely with white man for the better part of this nation's existence. That is changing and has been changing for a couple of decades now. No one gives up power and influence without a fight and Republicans have been fighting. But they are on the wrong side of history on everything from social policies, economic policies and now climate change. Society is changing and unless the GOP changes with it, they will be a footnote in the history books a few decades from now.

There is no such a thing as Antifa Nazi by the way.

"Antifa" would stand for Anti-fascist. Nazi is short for National Socialist Worker Party - a party that embraced fascism. Antifa Nazi would be an oxymoron at best. How can someone be Anti-fascist Fascist?

If you mean that I am Antifa Liberal, then sure, I'll gladly embrace that term. But really, if you gonna call me names of any kind, at least make sure they make logical and grammatical sense. That would go a long way to bolster your case. Otherwise, you just sound like a dumb redneck, which I am sure you are not.

If its so unenforceable, then what's the harm in staying in? Worst case, nothing changes. Best case, we improve the environment. If we can't be forced to do anything we don't want to do, why not just stay in it?

As long as it sits around any future President could simply submit it for approval. Whom could wait for a friendlier Senate.

If he did submit it. The Senate could vote and decline the treaty ending the issue. There is a small risk it could have passed and become law (unless the Supreme Court found it unconstitutional). The Senate could also just sit on it and not vote. There it can sit for years or decades until a President either disposes it or the Senate votes on it.
