Maybe you should keep it covered up. Kidding congrats on your purchase, if it makes you happy than it was worth it.
Will do that, once I have some time this afternoon.
And indeed I don't assume it will be very useful - but if it is enough fun, I'll keep it.

There’s a valid reason for that, whether you want to accept it or not. The eye scanners will not work with lenses requiring prism values. And there must be legal/medical reasons for not providing inserts for people under 16.

Sigh it’s not a valid reason it’s a limitation of the tech. Which is what I’m questioning. The AVP is already a really expensive niche product struggling for a wider adoption. Why would Apple compound the problem by adopting a tech that would exclude those under 16 who wear glasses? I can afford the AVP but I’m not buying it if the kids can’t use it. I bet the future vision non pro will do away with such a limitation.

I've got a Quest 3 and it is great. But the AVP has a few hardware differences, none of them cheap... it is not just the OS.
But unlike AVP you can share Quest 3 easily and there are some hardware differences that are advantage for Quest 3 (controllers, weight)

I’ll bet his neck and shoulder muscles have gotten massive since Vision Pro came out.
that would be a good argument to follow him - I will include the Vision Pro in my fitness program, would like a stronger neck :)

He uses it every day… As a paper weight more like it…

He probably puts it on and pretends to go scuba diving, while on the roof at Apple HQ.

...uses the Apple Vision Pro "in all aspects of [his] daily life.". GMAFB🤦‍♂️

Thanks for the fauxthentic interview, Tim.

The next Apple Vision Pro update will include a sanctimonious setting that will recognize Tim Cook's trained and textbook executed mannerisms, such as
  • The V sign
  • "Steepling" or Prayer hands
  • "Belly" hands
Then again, being out of touch with reality, it makes sense that televangelist Tim Cook would advocate the use of a virtual reality device.

Tim is quick to talk about Patents and completely forgets to mention most of this tech was bought from others and in many ways these patents and innovations weren't even theirs to begin with - example - without the Montreal firm Totem this AVP was and would be impossible... Tim is an operations guys - plain and simple.

Personally I don't believe him. If Apple really ate their own dog food then we wouldn't have something with Pro in the name running iPad OS.

Well, I think Tim can afford the headset and some time to use it. Someday they might make a set affordable to us mere mortals and add some actual productivity advantages...

It's like saying: Why liquor is being sold if those under 21 can't drink?

Have you considered that the reason why those under 16 shouldn't use it may be more medical than technical?
Their eyes are still developing, and the optical features of the AVP may affect them. So why bring potential lawsuits to themselves? Also, I don't believe many under 16 year olds will buy one either, and Apple is not interested in targeting their product to them.

The AVP is far superior to what's currently available in the consumer/prosumer market. So why is it that some people keep looking for reasons to complain and whine ???

Besides the apple logo, how is watching videos on the apple vision pro better than watching videos on other cheaper VR headsets? Why pay the price premium?
Why buy an expensive OLED TV when you can watch it on a regular LCD?
Why buy an 85" TV when you can watch it closer on a 32" TV and get the same big screen effect?
Why buy a big car when you fit in a small one?
Why buy a smartphone if a phone should only be used to make phone calls?

Try the AVP for two weeks, then you may understand. Just don't go by what others say, because giving an opinion on something you don't understand makes you look bad.
