They are not able to do it for high rx or prism value. Not for kids under 16 either.I thought the inserts were pretty reasonably priced starting at 99 bucks. Cheaper than most pairs of glasses you'd get in store. Takes a few seconds to swap out.

There’s a very good reason why you can’t wear glasses with the AVP. It seems that you may not understand how it works. So imagine if the entire family wears corrective glasses. Myopia is very common in Asia. To get inserts for everyone is a big hassle and expense. Especially for kids whose myopia may worsen over time. This device is just the embodiment of the worst of apples instinct - a niche and overly expensive product that has limited use case and one that can’t be used by half the folks around you.
There’s a valid reason for that, whether you want to accept it or not. The eye scanners will not work with lenses requiring prism values. And there must be legal/medical reasons for not providing inserts for people under 16.They are not able to do it for high rx or prism value. Not for kids under 16 either.
Ah, yes, the iPod Hi-Fi.Starting with the iPod, all Jobs had to do was announce new hardware and it sold it self. Goes to show you how far Apple is from still finding a proper replacement.
Besides the apple logo, how is watching videos on the apple vision pro better than watching videos on other cheaper VR headsets? Why pay the price premium?I would imagine you are smart enough to realize that cannot be patented, so I would assume you were joking. 🤣
I also like my OLED. The images look lifelike, but that is an illusion, too. I might have to get an AVP when my OLED dies, though, as it is one of the last 3D LG OLED from 2016 and I am one of those few that actually likes 3D movies, and those do work well with two tiny screens. It’s even worse. It’s two tiny screens offset a few pixels from one another to simulate depth on lenses that are focused to a fixed 2 meter plane. It’s a mere illusion. I’ll take my real big OLED TV anytime.
Well said. This is the type of comments that are actually useful and leaves a real taste of how people are finding it.
If you don’t mind: How would you compare it to an Apple Studio Display if you have used one?
(Myself settled for ASD because an XDR is just too out of my justifiable use case budget).

Else, regarding this forum’s comments:
The short ones like “Tim is lying” (I also think he is stretching it) or the funny ones are all fine… but else it’s truly tiring the snarky remarks of people that have no need nor interest of it, will never ever have one in their lifetimes and don’t even care about VR at all. All in the name of quick likes harvesting.
Heck, some go as far as passively aggressively suggest “well, a few comments say more about the commenters than about Apple and its Vision Pro”. Alright, fine, walk that talk, state exactly what in a couple of paragraphs.
People could learn a thing or two from the commenter over here who made an honest attempt at how he is finding it in its current state.
No wonder so many familiar and appreciated useful contributors just get tired and disappear into the internet to never be heard of again around here.
I've got a Quest 3 and it is great. But the AVP has a few hardware differences, none of them cheap... it is not just the OS.Hey Tim, your Vision OS is better than Meta Quest UI. But the Meta Quest UI isn’t bad and the Quest 3 weight is way better (even after you corded the battery!!).
And the Quest 3 costs 14% the price!!! If I get a VR headset for content, etc (no gaming or hardly at all) I can still use the Quest 3 as a monitor/monitors for my work PC and Mac, it isn’t as heavy, oh and at $500 is a no brainer. The only thing I miss out on is Vision OS. Um, ok.
My bare eyeballs are touching my ipad screen right now. What an imax experience. WowThe "100 foot screen" thing is overhyped. If you put any screen close enough tot your fact it's going to look huge.
Yep. And the MacBook Pro is an actual computer too without the limitations of ipad os on your face. You’ll have a far better experience working on your MacBook than a Vision Pro. My pet peeve is just repeatedly seeing the comment when people talk about the vision and say “its a MacBook Pro. For your face!” No. It’s not. Can i get a Vision Pro and just…download the desktop version of Final Cut Pro? HmmmPeople don't complain about the price when the product is actually useful. How many complain M3 Max is too expensive?
Vision Pro is nice toy for the first couple of days. Beyond that, there's no killer app and most users can't find a practical use for it.

Cook presumably tweeted this while sitting on the toilet using his 2nd gen AVP.Cook said that he uses the Vision Pro "in all aspects of [his] daily life."
Ted Lasso ended ages ago and he's just watching it now? Uh huh
Tim Cook name another Apple TV+ show challenge
let’s see how mine will be used
