Apple has increased its battery replacement fee for all four iPhone 14 models, according to information shared on its website.

As noted by 9to5Mac, Apple Stores can replace the battery inside an iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, or iPhone 14 Pro Max for $99 in the U.S., which is up from $69 for most previous iPhone models. This is a 43% increase to the fee, which includes the cost of a new battery and service by an Apple Store or an Apple Repair Center. iPhone battery replacement fees will vary at third-party Apple Authorized Service Providers.

Customers with AppleCare+ can get an iPhone battery replaced for free, but only if the battery retains less than 80% of its original capacity.

Apple's out-of-warranty service fees have also increased for select other iPhone 14 repairs. For example, in the U.S., Apple charges $379 to fix cracked glass on an iPhone 14 Pro Max's display, compared to $329 for the same repair on an iPhone 13 Pro Max. Apple's iPhone Repair and Service page outlines additional repair fees.

iPhone 14 models are set to launch on September 16, with the exception of the iPhone 14 Plus, which will be available starting October 7.

Once u go Apple you never go back, and they know it . Plus they don’t help you with the fact that notes can’t be transferred ,and you are deep in Apple ecosystem .
So they just keep removing features and increasing the prices ,more and more ,hammering you to see how much you can take (particularly EU consumers ) ,because they know they don’t have any real competition

Has anyone else noticed that the battery health, as reported by the Settings app, degrades steadily for a couple of years but then slows/stops at around 81 or 82%? Seems to have happened for both the iPhones I've used in recent years.

Yep mine has remained at 82% for over a year.

Then one day BAM! I restore my iPhone and battery health states 73%

It will probably drop. You shouldn't need a new battery until 3 or 4 years anyway.

I've got an iPad 2 which is over 11 years old and still gets great battery life on the original battery. Admittedly it's had a fairly easy life for the past 5 years or so, but I still drag it out semi-regularly to play the classic iPad game "FTL".

Nah. I actually came to a realization a couple of days ago that I can probably do without a Mac (after being an owner of it for 12 years now). Just got the MacBook Air M2 but I think this will be my last one. The ecosystem is nice but my need for the total integration is not as much as I thought I need. I’ll stick with the phone, butt the rest I can do without.

$99?! That’s almost as much as a battery replacement for my EV! 🧐

How much to do the battery replacement myself with genuine parts?
