I have been following this thread for a while now.
Just like everyone even I could not reserve my preferred iPhone on pre-order day. (12:03am and alas no ip7+ JB at all in any store in whole WA state).
Monday: Sept 11 - called the apple 1800 number and spoke to the sales specialist. She was kind of rude and kept on saying that "You need to keep calling back for knowing the stock status" which was very frustrating. I explained what the issue was bringing up the whole IUP fuss, but even then she had ZERO clue and told me to keep calling back.
Tuesday: Sept 12 - I went ahead and ranted about this whole issue & emailed to applesupport & CC'd Tim Cook. On that same night i tried calling apple for speaking to an IUP specialist but they said the lines are closed & will reopen next day at 8am EST.
Tuesday: Sept 13 - Around 7:30 PDT in the morning I called apple & spoke to an IUP specialist and they took all my details & said will get back to me within 72 hours.
Tuesday: Sept 13 - Same day at around 11am PDT i got a call from someone from Apple executive team and mentioned that it was about the email i had sent to Tim Cook. He apologized for the whole mess and took all my details again & said within 24hours he will contact me & try his best to get the phone i was looking for. He also provided his contact details incase I wanted to contact him.
Wednesday: Sept 14 - I got a call at 5:30pm PDT by the same Executive rep. & he said he had some good news.
"Your preferred model: iPhone 7 plus 128GB JB will be available for you to pickup at your nearest preferred store on launch day 16th Sept at 10am !!!!!" I was on cloud nine :D . In a matter of day he was able to resolve. Super Excited.

He said no reservations, just show up at store & mention that you were sent by IUP specialist for your iPhone pickup. They will pull up all your details & provide you the phone.

Hope this helps to the ones who have this same issue.

Hm.. I got my call about my 128gb 7 jet black but it was 2-3 weeks. I have no record of this availability, no email, no reservation. Anybody else in this boat? I haven't seen many looking for the jet black so I'm not sure if I can trust this.

Well, 80 hours after my call to the IUP team, and having gotten the original email with the contact info, I have no other follow up or response. Unless it's true that all the early callers will have their preferred phone at their 'primary' store reserved for them, something seems to be amiss.

It seems like they (Apple) are handling this different ways. The retail executive team is handling it different than the phone reps. I'm still waiting to hear back from mine after he told me he had a phone reserved but then told me today that there wasn't one.

Check that you are logged into the same appleid as the email. I have two, so it didn't show up until I logged out and back in.

No go, I tried that and also had the three Apple Specialists I spoke to today check both my Apple ID and my iCloud email just in case. Thank you though! It's a good idea

This morning the UK upgrade site shows:

We’re no longer taking reservations to pre-order iPhone.
Online reservations will reopen at 06:00 on 17 September.

I wonder if I should call again, email Mr. Cook, or just stick the with iPhone 7 and give up on getting a 7 Plus. I have a reservation for a 7 at 8 am tomorrow, but my sister had me convinced that the better camera(s) are worth the trouble.

I just missed my call back from Jessica with Apple, she said I will be emailed today about my reservation.

I missed the call, but the voicemail said that I will get an email today about the pickup options for my reservation requested.
This is different than me, I was in the first batch of calls that were just told they reserved it for us and "just show up" at our preferred store. Seems that they actually made reservations for people who were in the later groups

Guess we will find out, will let you know what the email says when (if) it comes today.
