In addition to what I said, it wouldn't be this way if we in the US were restricted to the carriers when we ordered. It's not that was in Canada, Australia, or most of Europe. The US needs to wake up and let people order a full price phone without carrier information from day 1 like everyone else.

Congrats.

Still waiting on VZW to deliver my JB 7+ 128GB

why not just read the FAQ on the reservation page that clearly states you can opt to buy the phone full price or on contract in the store.
I'm not even seeing that. And you can't even do that if they don't have stock in store to sell to you...

So now what to do!! I got an email from Apple yesterday saying my IUP phone (same phone) will be at my local store by Sept 26th.

Do I keep Paid in full phone or IUP phone?
Do I open Paid in full phone while I wait for IUP phone?
Do I... AHHHHH!

Quick question. If I do make a reservation can an authorized user on my account go and pick it up for me tomorrow? Its AT&T.

Can someone else pick up my iPhone?
Yes. When you reserve your iPhone, you can choose to authorize someone else to pick it up for you. However, items can be picked up only by the wireless account holder or authorized users, and the person who picks up the iPhone will be responsible for starting a new iPhone Upgrade Program loan agreement.

Well I just reserved a Black 128gb Verizon and the FAQ clearly mentions that you can change payment method.

Found the FAQ, but what you're referring to is still within the bounds of the iUP program. You can change your payment method, but you still have to be in the iUP program. At least that's the way I interpret that. I don't want to be in the iUP program at all.

Just tell them you didn't know they were gonna run a credit check and you would rather just pay with cash/cc. They had no problem with this last year when people were being rejected. If you reject them it "should" work the same.

PLAY DUMB!! lol

where does it say it's only for customers of iUP program? Just say you planned to do IUP but you decided against it because you are buying a house/car so you don't want a hardpull and it's cheaper for you to pay outright.

Literally in that image you posted. "Can I change to a different form of payment FOR THE IPHONE UPGRADE PROGRAM."
I wish I could reserve through iUP then say "lol nope I'm just gonna buy it outright and not sign up for your program. thanks bye." But part of me says that's not how it'll work.

Can new members even select in store pickup right now? I thought they had to have it shipped.

I think we will have to wait and see what happens to be honest. I want a verizon 128gb Matte black. My 32gb GSM unlocked delivered today but i think it's faulty, too much battery drain even in flight mode so I am thinking of reserving and then picking it up via reservation route. I am sure people here will try it and report back.

Or I can wait a couple of weeks and get it from the store. No big deal tbh. I have my faithful SE anyways which I seem to love more than the 7 lol.

I think so. The iUP reservation link let me get all the way through reserving one (only a 7, they didn't have 7 Plus at the time) even though I wasn't part of the iUP program now. I didn't click confirm, but the site stated (paraphrasing) that the reservation was contingent on the phone being used or activated on an existing or new iUP plan.

Thank you kind sir.

I went in again from the iUP reserve page. After I selected my model (a 7, no Plus available anywhere in Illinois) they had me login. When seeing I wasn't currently in iUP this message came up. Last paragraph on the bottom of the screen.

Canadian reservation page was working for me briefly just now. Non upgrade program (it doesn't exist in Canada). Looked like tons of iPhone 7 Plus availability at six stores in Toronto area. Selected a 128GB iPhone 7 Plus in Black. There was even a 256GB iPhone 7 Plus in Jet Black at another store. Clicked the button and then "this service is currently not available" appears. :(

Go to the store first thing tomorrow when it opens and say you know they have it in stock. Why would they refuse to sell a product and make money?
