Thanks. What about all of these people buying Verizon phones using them on other carriers? And t mo can add IMEI to their network. I have done that before.
They are paying full price, NOT using the upgrade program. Upgrade program requires it to be activated on the carrier it is assigned to in the store, no exceptions.

This is kind of a dumb question...but how do you reserve things over the Apple app?

I go through the steps to select which iPhone size/Color I want and choose one that is "available to pick up" today. I select my location and hit "Done" at the top right hand corner of my phone. Is that all I have to do? Is there no confirmation? I go to the "my reservations" area in the Apple app and I don't see the phone I reserved either

Okay managed to score a reservation for the phone I wanted + RG 256 att. I am going to try to use iUP if I get approved, if not att next which I know I qualify.

On the way now, but I'm running late. 4-430 appointment, I'll make it there by 5, stores open until 6. Concern is.. will they still have my phone or will they sell it??

It depends on your luck tbh. In my experience, they will sell it if you don't check in within your check-in window.

Long time lurker of this thread to see the progress everyone had. I too was up until 3AM PST hoping the reservation page would go live but no luck. I woke up really late at 9:40AM in a scramble because I knew the page had gone live a while back and I was scared I had missed my chance. I checked online and they had a Verizon 7+ 128GB matte black (I don't have service with any of the four carriers. I'm thinking of going with T-Mobile)! Reserved that sucker right away and drove to my local Apple Store because they opened at 10AM.

I arrived and got set up (they didn't ask for any account details) and there was an issue with the device the specialist was using to check me out. It kicked him out of the payment process and it reversed the charges on my debit card. I had used split payments: credit and debit. The credit charge was still there, but it started declining my debit card after that because my bank shut down my card, and since it's Sunday, the branch is closed. Luckily for me, I had a family member come by and let me borrow the remaining balance until I can go to the bank tomorrow lol. Since I can't use my debit card until tomorrow, I can't buy any accessories or go to T-Mobile to get situated with service, so I'm just sitting here in my room with an unopened, unusable 7+ :p I just checked right now and I think I got the last one in stock for 7+ 128GB black.

I honestly don't see the point of preordering online if you don't get a guaranteed delivery on launch day. I feel bad for the people that are waiting for their phones to be shipped when I managed to get one effortlessly.

So, a Verizon phone paid full price will work on another carrier or not?

Every year this same question is asked atleast a million times. Every single year. IT WORKS. It has worked since years. It shows on apple's website itself that it's unlocked. Sigh.

nah most of us are returning it when it arrives, no need to feel bad :)

Sorry if this question was asked already:

If you reserve the phone you want with the IUP link and go into the store to pick it up, is your credit run at all? I rather not have a hard credit check if i am really not going to do the IUP. Going to pay in full.

Thank you

Sorry dumb question but I just keep seeing only Verizon mentioned... Sprint paid off phone will work for T-mobile too? No verizon phones around me just Sprint, don't want to make an hour trip to find out my t-mobile sim card is not working

If you are paying in full there is no credit check, you just pay in full and walk out

No, the reservation process does not do any credit inquiry, and then you go inside the store and just pay full price and pick it up.

Please look into this, it's on the apple website it self.

Just got one. They don't run credit check unless you are doing IUP

Yeah that's the information I had but people on previous posts were saying it would not work. Anyway, sorry to ask a well know information but I'm not a US resident and asked for a friend to buy the phone for me to use on another country. He bought a Verizon version so I needed to make sure it was really unlocked before he left the US.

So when will they upload the stock again?? Tomorrow morning???

Also why do you guys call this a trick? don't they know what their websites are..

it says right there that if you buy a full price phone it's unlocked. :/

Just go to store buy a full price verizon/sprint and be happy lol.
Thank you, I was just confused because it still had dedicated networks despite them claiming it is unlocked.

So tempting - I see that the U-Village store (Seattle) has Verizon black 256 gb 7+ model, which is what I have on order from T-Mobile on the trade I deal they were doing. However, since we ultimately decided that DH's phone will be "sacrificed" as the trade in, rather than my 6+ 128 Gold, I'm going to stick with that plan. His phone is a lowly 6 with only 16 GB and some cosmetic damage (screen is pristine and no water damage which is what T-Mobile requires for the trade in). It's a good deal in that regard, since he has the least valuable model that gets the full trade-in credit towards a new phone. It's not like we will leave T-Mobile any time soon and screw up the deal since we've been with them for 16 years already!

EDIT to add: I was in the Apple store yesterday to pick up a watch and mentioned to the sales person that I was disappointed I couldn't sign up for IUP for T-Mobile online ahead of time, and he said he would be glad to do it while I was there. Mentioned I'd done the T-Mobile promo offer, and he said he wasn't going to try to talk me out of it, because it was such a good deal. I just wish I had the phone before going on vacation. As it is, it won't even ship until 9/27 to 10/10 or something like that :(

Why not pre-order online? It gives you in a queue for one while you look in stores. I'm looking for 7+ JB 256 which is like non-existant. I have a pre-order set for 2wks out. I'm still looking in store though. If find in store, cancel pre-order or return if it's shipped. If can't find in store, then at least I know my pre-order will have arrived. As for who cares what color it is, just grab one, I typically only use a case when I'm traveling to carry cards, etcs. Although I been using an used 5 naked and a slim card wallet in the interrum which I may keep adopting into the 7+. Plan to slap a clear slickwrap on the back to help with any scratches and see how well that works, but i'm typically very careful with my stuff
